    ReplyDelete
  8. Finally got stuck lol..
Any1 on 8? Tried converting numbers to letters and got der? but [of course] it's not the answer

    ReplyDelete
  9. almost nini xd. If these pages would load faster. On 7 now.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thought it might be green backwards (der = red) but no...

    ReplyDelete
  11. ok - 4 5 18? Around the forest - no clue in source...hmmm

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Edgar - look at the numbers as they relate to letters in each word

    ReplyDelete
  13. Edgar each number corresponds to a letter like 1=W

    ReplyDelete
  14. Got the message @Graham, but nothing after that... what's next? the brothers? the empire? point me into something... or do I have a typo to re-check? hm...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Edgar it's 2 words w/ an e in the middle :D

    ReplyDelete
  16. Stupid! It WAS a typo!! Got so confused when it didn't work the first time! Trying to relate the text with the Roman cave in the pic :(
    Thanks for the help.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1st word = 1st letter / 2nd word = 2nd letter / 3rd word = 1st letter...and so on

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yay Edgar! Now use ur brilliant brain to solve 8 for us :D

    ReplyDelete
  19. On 8 I saw the properties of the jpg and it was called "forestrun1" tried "run" and still nothing...tried changing url too - stumped.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Graham tried that too lol!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Graham, change the url into "forestrun2" then 3...

    ReplyDelete
  22. ahhhh - way to go edgar!

    ReplyDelete
  23. OK.. only 3 pics to gather info here.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Edgar I'm trying but it doesn't work!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Work time for me... don't get too much further! lol

    ReplyDelete
  26. For 9,

Combine the numbers below with the "clock times" on the right to move in the grid:
    - start from the arrow and go down (18 hours) 8 letters.
    - Then move 4 letters to the right (3:00)
    - go on, lol.

Cant play much now, but will be back soon.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You are the man Edgar. I am not used to games that display clock formats with a period. Brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Use your imagination @Graham! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  29. time to take a break from this one...lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. seen the 3 pages for lvl 8 but still can't get it - help!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Back and lost on 10.. @Graham? You forgot to leave a tracking hint here! LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Alison, convert the numbers into letters (you should get 10 of them) and anagram then.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Alison - match the letters with numbers for all 3 pages (A=1) and then unscramble them...need help with 11. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Edgar - the sentence at the bottom tells you the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ha! Clever! Thanks Graham :D

    ReplyDelete
  36. thanks - how many words in the answer

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ahhh - I think I may be on to something for 11

    ReplyDelete
  38. Still stumped....I think the first set of blocks is there as a reference for the next 6 shapes where I thought I could figure something out by what is missing but not quite getting it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What's with the music there?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I don't hear any music but the source says "music by falcom"

    ReplyDelete
  41. Got 11. I drew lines around the shapes and got6 letters and anagram them.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @lovelygiraffe - I have tried that and still am not getting the right letters. What letter did you get for the last one?

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's an X. It doesn't look like it, but apparently it is. Now I'm really stuck at 12...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thank you Lovelygiraffe! I never tried that letter!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Any ideas for 12?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I found this - tried dc-10 and fedex...didn't work

    http://www.forteantimes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14798&sid=b801068cf90d26179d57d58bc401c3e5

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anything for 12? What about the 2nd picture?

    ReplyDelete
  48. @Graham, thanks for the hint in lvl 11.
I'm back home (connection at work went terrible) and moving on now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh so very sorry!!
It was the hint from lovelygiraffe! Thanks @lovely! (oops)

Now, level 11 had a 'play' icon on the bottom for a MP3 file to be listened... nothing important I guess.
And about the letters in the level, the hint (7x3)-1 suggested to remove 1 square from the grids, and that's where the X came from (in case of anyone wondering).

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks @edgar for your hints on level 9.

    ReplyDelete
  51. how can I get back to where I was before I logged out? I had completed lvl 10

    ReplyDelete
  52. yw @Ruff.

Now really stuck on 12 like the rest!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sorry Alison, I really don't know how to do that. It might become a real problem unless we bookmark every level we've been in (or copy and paste the URL's in a text document to remember them).

    ReplyDelete
  54. Welcome back Edgar! I am still stuck on 12 with the rest!

    ReplyDelete
  55. @alison, you've completed level 10. This is the url for level 11 http://www.lastenigma.com/shimmeralforest/number11.php

  57. Please give me some hints on level 11. I tried tracing the shapes but could only see two letters.

    ReplyDelete
  58. thanks Edgar and Ruff - I just put the answers to each lvl in quickly in the end,and now I'm on lvl 12

    ReplyDelete
  59. i'm stuck on level 5......any ideas???

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Ruff, draw a square around the 7x3 grids but always remove one of the squares in each grid to see the letters.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Lynelle, do as the text in the bottom says:

    "Change url above to number5key.php"

    ReplyDelete
  62. @edgar, I got the first and the last one alright. For the others, do I draw precisely around or roughly around the shape.

    ReplyDelete
  63. ohhhhhhh, nm, i need to read more carefully

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Ruff, hmm... keep in mind the grids are 7x3, and that they are the same "height" in the pic. Need a spoiling screenshot?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I may be looking way more into this than I should but here is a link from the governments database to the official report on this crash...

    http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief2.asp?ev_id=20021031X05411&ntsbno=MIA03FA005&akey=1

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Edgar, I think I know what you mean. Trying it now. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Wrong one - sorry - here is the right one...

  69. @graham, thanks for the article. it's saved a lot of my time in researching on the incident. Don't have any clue yet.

@Edgar, thanks for your great hints.

I gotta go. Will be back in a few hours.

    ReplyDelete
  70. lvl 12 - so stuck, looks like only 2 people have got it so far

    ReplyDelete
  71. I assume the puzzle creator is saying that the organism on the right caused the crash. If so, how do we figure out what that thing grows into? haha!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Lev 11
Can't quite make out the date on the paper but it looks like October in 1932/1952/1962. Graham's event is in 2002. maybe I'm being too literal.

Here's a site on air crashes:
    http://www.planecrashinfo.com/

And then there's what looks like a capiz-shell pendant or bead in the shape of a flatworm!

    ReplyDelete
  73. @Puzzledin, it's actually lvl 12, not 11. And the date on the paper reads OCT. 23, 2002 pretty clear to me.

Maybe the answer is something else? Kind of a rebus thing?

    ReplyDelete
  74. @graham
SInce to me it looks like a bead one would string on a necklace, I thought maybe a combined word like crash-bead. I've never had the patience to get this deep into one of these before.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I do know one of the incident reports talks about unknown red scuff mark on the plane and the picture clearly wants us to see something red. Ok - just thinking out loud...I am losing it! lol

    ReplyDelete
  76. @Edgar -- Thanks!
It's very fuzzy to me and even worse when I zoom. My eyes must be going -- better take a break and do something useful.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Gotta run for awhile - I hope you guys get somewhere...will be back...good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  78. keep thinking Graham! I'm trying as well but nothing so far.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Here's a cheery picture since I can't help on the puzzle:
    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_puTVILFyI9M/SxgWqZWG_kI/AAAAAAAAAik/SV1NtwxJT1Q/s320/planaria-composite-2.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  80. I can't get 11... HELP!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. checked out mobile tensaw delta, but stll getting nowhere, Graham's gone, so I'm off as well. Too hard.

    ReplyDelete
  82. @skleigh123 - trace round the blocks to get 6 letters, then it's an anagram. Last letter is X, as posted earlier. Hope that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Help! Feel dumb, can't figure out how to change the URL on #8. Tried forestrun in various ways, but doesn't work for me :(

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm stuck on 6. Help Please!

    ReplyDelete
  85. level 6

You need all the letters at the intersection then anagram for a word I like this one

    http://anagram-solver.utsire.com

    ReplyDelete
  86. @Graham, @Edgar, @Alison..
offering help on 12... real easy if you know what the right hand pic is of.
UFO's, hit something in the SKY...
    sounds a bit FISHY

    ReplyDelete
  87. Just name the pic on the right I have no idea what that is ?? been looking for an hour now jellyfish? I don't know :(

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Clee,
might want use a search else where for images relating to my last post

    ReplyDelete
  90. I found the story but they don't know what the plane hit this level sucks :(

    ReplyDelete
  91. @ifdefnt1,
Graham and Edgar (he always does) have helped with clear hints. Why dont you just say what the fish is?

    ReplyDelete
  92. @Clee,

Ignore the story, looking way too deep.
Have another search (and I didn't capitalise for nothing ;p)

    ReplyDelete
  93. @David
As the pic name states, the answer to this is it's name so I can't say otherwise that breaks the rules... Reckon I'm stretching things as it is

    ReplyDelete
  94. @ifdefnt1, thanks a lot for your hints for 12. Got it!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Now that I found it just google Ufo+sky+fish NO Y

and remember at the top of page says minus S

never found the fishy that messes up google using that name

    ReplyDelete
  96. @Ruff - no worries, Glad they helped someone.

hows lvl 13 looking? baker (as in dozen), apollo and nasa all fail for me no matter how many times I retype them.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Got it, and not talking chit (which makes sense when you get the answer) or the cryptisism

    ReplyDelete
  98. @ifdefnt1, I haven't found anything for level 13 yet.

    ReplyDelete
  99. @Ruff - Looks like the enigma developer is a movie buff... Game Sayong wiki

    ReplyDelete
  100. @ifdefnt1, going to wiki it now. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  101. @ifdefnt1, read the story. Tried the names but none has worked.

    ReplyDelete
  102. @Ruff - hooded man (no spaces)

    ReplyDelete
  103. @ifdefnt1, thanks, you saved me again. Frankly speaking, I would never have thought about checking this film.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @Ruff, Never heard of it myself before now but the pic was called belovedthirteen.jpg so couldn't be too far off...that said, dddddddddd.jpg isn't helping me at all!

    ReplyDelete
  105. couldn't find aaaaaaaaaa.jpg to cccccccccc.jpg.

    ReplyDelete
  106. @Ruff,
NO luck here, tried various 1-4 combinations of letters from the grid both horiz and vert and used as answer and new pic name. Also tried 1111111111.jpg - 4*.jpg. Pic details : Nikon D70 | Nikon VR 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6 G@24mm | 1/10 sec | F/8 | ISO 200
    so no help there.
Just gone 3am here so throwing in the towel till after sleep. Good luck

    ReplyDelete
  107. so i guess the strange grammar sometimes is intentional?

    ReplyDelete
  108. @Ruff, Cheers/Mornin!

    @~Elizabeth~
Is that a question or hint (are you the 1 person past lvl 14 - help!)?

    "._." ? morse code perhaps?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Level 14 :- (From another posting site kudos to boke@nordinho)
"Do it as the title says. Then look at the tiny hint. I think you know it very well. "

Not that I've figured what this means yet

    ReplyDelete
  110. @ifdefnt - WOW!!!! FINALLY!!! THANK YOU! It seems like that was a bit out there and too difficult to come up with....not sure how anyone could have found that one out...thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  111. @Graham
No worries, who says gaming can't be educational..(that's my excuse ;p)
Having zip luck with 14 though, and now 4 people have got to the next level!

    ReplyDelete
  112. lvl 14 anyone? ._. is R in morse code.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Hmmm - I am not understanding his clue either. Do what as the title says? 1-4? What are we supposed to do with that? Vague clue.

    ReplyDelete
  114. lvl14 nordhino also say 'first separate it with the title, then encode' - some of them are doing lvl 16 already! Thinking about that so called clue.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Separate what with the title. Are they talking about the title of the question (1-4) or the title of the picture (dddddddddd)?? Too many variables. I tried to use a Caesarian shift with the letters using "r" for the first one and that didn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I wonder if 1-4 is the clue to separate something referring to question 14...not 1 to 4 numerically.

    ReplyDelete
  117. separating 1-4 with ._. + pic could give
rddd (1 r 4 dddddddddd) which on the grid gives 't' ... didn't work as a pic name or pass.

    ReplyDelete
  118. 15 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  119. For 14 - make the first letter into morse code and use that code on the word to get letter(s)

    ReplyDelete
  120. Wow, that was quite brilliant, Graham . Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Someone on nordinho gave me a hint too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  122. For 15 - Do you think it's the alphabet they are referring to? T=1, A=2, R=3, etc? If so, need to figure out the pattern.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Still, thank you :)
15 is a darts board. Use the numbers below and apply them to the board. Then convert numbers to letters and anagram. On 16 now.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Good one back at ya lovelygiraffe! - on to 16!

    ReplyDelete
  125. ooohhh....no one has solved this one yet! Sounds real promising! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  126. I got somewhere! Press all the numbers in the shape of a 5!

    ReplyDelete
  127. I don't even know what to search for. I mean, it's definitely a Cambodian temple, but I don't know if that's relevant. Press 5 but leave 5 confuses me too :)

    ReplyDelete
  128. Aaaargh! I need to learn to refresh before posting :)

    ReplyDelete
  129. Add the numbers, get 3700, put roman numeral equivalent in clue box = nothing! Don't know what the lines above the letters mean.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hi there,

I am ZaneTheodore who creates this riddle.

    have fun ! but

I have to ask something for your cooperation,

DON'T give TOO MUCH SPOILER becuz it will ruined the riddle.

Hope you understand and thank you for your cooperation.

    Thanks ! :)

PS. First Hall of Fame and Temp End at Level 30 , Go and get there ! :)

    ReplyDelete
  131. No problem fiel! Thanks for the game - these are tough!

    ReplyDelete
  132. From wiki: For large numbers (4,000 and above), a bar can be placed above a base numeral, or parentheses placed around it, to indicate multiplication by 1,000.
But I still didn't get the right answer. I'll give up for today.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Many thanks for the info Graham!
I was just about to post a pleading message and it become suddenly clear.
So to help any others who really are struggling I'll add .use, _ignore.

15 and on my way to catch up at last.

    ReplyDelete
  134. @Graham, thanks for hints on 14. Got stuck there for ages until I saw your hints.

    I'm now working on 18.

    ReplyDelete
  135. @lovelygiraffe, @Graham

lvl 17 : turns out graphic not quite correct.
3rd row should have a line above.

    See you on lvl18

    ReplyDelete
  136. W.B. Ruff!

Lvl 18 - lol'd 2nd line... anyone else think of Wyld Stallyns!

    ReplyDelete
  137. lol @ifdefnt1

But still... there's no way we can ever know who wrote the prayer. I've searched everywhere without a result.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I am still stuck on 17. I thought I had the answer and I have tried to enter it as numbers and Roman numerals but not working. I know the thrid line is supposed to have a line over it too. Very frustrating!

    ReplyDelete
  139. @gambrosino, there is an error on 17. There should be a bar for the 3rd number.

    ReplyDelete
  140. @gambronsino

have you trid to do anything else with the numbers you have? Sum then cypher a1

    ReplyDelete
  141. @Ruff congrats for 18!
Care to throw some scraps this way?

    ReplyDelete
  142. I can't seem to get level 15. I understand the hint from lovelygiraffe but I can't find an anagram. I get the letters A D I K L O.

    ReplyDelete
  143. @ifdefnt1, I spent way too much time on the research of "prayer to archancel gabriel". It's not the prayer, it's a book. Also Gabriel is the ? hand of god.

    ReplyDelete
  144. @small-tool, read the numbers on dart board clockwise.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Thanks Ruff, but that's what I do so I get 20=A 1=B etc. and in that way I get those letters I posted above.

    ReplyDelete
  146. @Ruff, Thanks for confirming.
Seems I might have been on the right track.
Bookwise, I've been trying Dans and the not right hand references but not there yet. TBH, desperation kicked in so went off at a tangent and tried maradona!

    ReplyDelete
  147. @small-tool
Try the other way round i.e. 2=1=a

    ReplyDelete
  148. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Thanks ifdefnt1 and Ruff,
    I got it now.

    ReplyDelete
  150. @ifdefnt1, the initials are P.H.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I have to prepare dinner now. Will be back in a two hours.

    ReplyDelete
  152. @ifdefnt1, google fantasy book and "the l*** h*** of g**"

    ReplyDelete
  153. @Ruff enjoy dinner and thanks for that last tip, wasn't on the right path after all!

    ReplyDelete
  154. The roman numerals on 17.
Do I have to fill in numbers as an asnwer or letters.
And the 4th row, VM, is that 995.000?

    ReplyDelete
  155. @small-tool

4th row isn't 995. The bar indicates that value is *1000 giving you (V*1000)+M. First line would be (M*1000)+(M*1000). Remember 3rd row is missing a bar.

The answer needs to be input in letters, not numbers or Rnumerals.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Thanks ifdefnt1,
    Still doing something wrong.
Is the missing bar only on the L? And is the answer the letters from the number order in the alphabet or do I have to write out the number?

    ReplyDelete
  157. Nvm. It was alphabetical. Didn't know that word.

    ReplyDelete
  158. @small-tool

If you not the sums per line in order, you'll see how many 0 you're missing. In this specific case, add the 3 numbers together then *1k.
The sum answer will give you the correct order for the letters left to right.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Thanks again, but just found the right word.
Think I'm gonna try 18 tomorrow. It's quite late here in Europe.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Didn't go to bed and on 19 now.
    Nobody solved it yet!?

    ReplyDelete
  161. Anybody any ideas about 19?
    Something with Engine Management Systems?

    ReplyDelete
  162. And something with McLaren I presume (vodafone as sponsor).

    ReplyDelete
  163. @small-tool, I'm thinking in another path. I am trying different things related to Kinetic Energy.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Ok Ruff I see where you're going and see what E and M and S stand for.
But what are we gonna calculate?

    ReplyDelete
  165. @small-tool, that's what I'm trying to find out. I tried to map numbers to those x's and anagram the answer too. No luck so far!

    ReplyDelete
  166. I think it's more difficult than that. How about the 'formula one' hint, isn't that a hint for something like Einstein (E=mc2). And then something with the number behind the E, but I don't get the numbers behind the M and the S (although the 2 behind the S could mean squared).

    ReplyDelete
  167. Tried all those already, including calculations with different units too. But nothing works. I think I should give my brain a break now. I hope someone has solved it when I come back tomorrow.

    @small-tool, good night!

    ReplyDelete
  168. Yep, going to bed as well and wishing you good night too, But...
not hoping someone has solved it later. Wouldn't it be great to solve it here, live, as very first in the whole wide world.

    ReplyDelete
  169. 19 :

problem fixed , some clue now added for more.

forget to input a very important clue !

    Sorry. :(

    ReplyDelete
  170. Thanks Fiel, having another go now then.

@Ruff, @small-tool (hi) been looking at the same as you Kinetic and using S==V in terms of the formula but usually you have two to calculate the third. Using any two of the three puts the result as different to what is listed for the third.
With the new clue, thought the answer may be the missing letters but can't find a single word anagram result.
Then looked to the E value and looked for this as a Y/D/M format date. Anways, heading down the KERS route now to see if that leads anywhere.
