  78. now, trying again after the easy buggy escape, the string has no effect on the doorknob.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Errr, what the hell was THAT?! My 10yr old could do this in seconds! Got a string, got a lock, got a colour code, got another key, and then another and OUT! What was all the other things for?!

    ReplyDelete
  80. rachel, that was the trouble when the game was posted, i thought they fixed it, now i can't even do any of it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Use wrench to remove cat. Then use string on hole to get lock.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Tried to play it again, and this time dragging the thread over door knob does nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Right. The game does work properly now. All you previous players are a bit dazzled by the way you ran out of the door when you played before, so here's an updated walkthrough =)

Leave the music on becuase it's so nice to be rid of the "disco" tune of recent games ;P
You will get fed up with it fairly fast, though, because it's such a short riff, haha. The mute button is the orange musical note symbol at the top right.

Go left and zoom in on the right-hand drawers under the television.
Click the top handle and see a strange configuration of pentagons. Don't touch the numbers yet! You won't explode or anything, but you won't be able to see any more what's going on =)
If you ignore the colours and look carefully you may realise that there is a partial sequence progressing from left to right. 03+08+11, 08+11=19, but then it fails, so now that you know what to do, change the proper numbers to continue the sequence. [solution below]
    Collect the screwdriver.
    Back out and go right.

Zoom in the square Spongebob Squarepants and use the screwdriver on his foot. Click on him and he jumps up, showing four digits. Note these down or remember them.

Back out and click the left drawers of the television cabinet to zoom in, then click open the top drawer.
Enter the number and get some "strength potion".
    Back out from the drawer.

Realising you can't escape yet to use this stuff for anything sensible, you are only left with an uncontrollable urge to lift the television [believe me, it's a very strong urge!].
The way to achieve this is to zoom in to the television screen and drag the potion bottle to the base of the screen. [Suspend your belief and just pretend you drank it, okay? It's an escape-game-thing.]
Get the round-headed key that you see under the television.

Back out, go right, and use this key on the round lock. This gives you a different type of japanese number puzzle. Not ken-ken, or sudoku, but Futoshiki, aka Hutosiki.
If you need to know the futoshiki rules and want to solve it by yourself, here's a link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futoshiki

    If not, see spoiler below.
The reward for this is a squirty bottle of glue remover.
While you're hunting around looking for where to use it, click the triangular shadow on the sofa where it meets the white pillow, and find a coil of something with a hook on the end [I assumed it was wire. I've made this tool for myself hundreds of times. It's a must when you have small children, or kittens, or pet rats, haha, and it's most definitely wire!].
In the same view, in the corner, is an orange object, so zoom in on that.
It's a dog toy, for some cruel reason, glued to the floor. Do the kind thing and remove the glue, then click the toy to lift it.
    A square-headed key.

    ReplyDelete
  84. NEW WALKTHROUGH PART 2:
Back out, go LEFT - you need to see a clue.
On top of this cupboard is a red object, so zoom in and see a strange model beast baring its teeth at you. [Dog? some pokemon thing? I'll never know, and I'll never need to, thanks.]
Look at the arrangement of its teeth and remember it or write it down. Also. note the bolt on the green base.

Back out, go left, zoom the cabinet with the locks on and use the square key in the square lock [isn't logic wonderful?].
Use the teeth arrangement as the clue and change the colours to match - spoiler below.
Collect your spanner and back out.

Go right, zoom back to the beastie and use the spanner on his bolt. Click to raise him and get a hole [what did you expect, a triangular-headed key?]
This is where the trick with the hook-ended wire comes into play.
Use it on the hole and out pops a peculiar blue object.
To save you hours of hotspot-hunting WITHOUT a nice changing cursor, your newset prize is a door lock, which should be inserted into the handle of the exit door.
Find your way there [with only 3 main views, you can't get lost] and zoom in to place it.
The letter box lights up with four colours. Note these down or remember them and go left.
Zoom and click to open the bottom left drawer under the television and enter the colour code.
A last, the key for the triangular lock!
Find the lock, use the key and get a blue door key.
I could be more specific with directions, but at this point it really isn't needed and I'm quite fed up with typing words no one will need =)
    You're out!

I started playing many hours after this was "live", during which time I couldn't get access to any of the gamershood site, and when I got in, I really enjoyed playing this game. For a change, I didn't need any help myself, but afterwards I could see so many people in the comments, being confused by the maker's version of the game being posted, that I had to say something.

  85. No Fun at all, this one. Even the string wouldn't do what everyone says it will do.
If I come late, I don't want to go all the way down to the w/thru to see what to do - I want to paly along as if its live. If posts don't explain once in a while, then I may as well not play.

    ReplyDelete
  86. The game is buggy and annoying: string didn't work, the code color doesn't work as well.

    ReplyDelete
  87. You two are lightweights. =)
No bugs, they've all been fixed, so if only you had tried by yourselves without reading the early comments first, you'd have "got it" the same way I did.
Why would you use string on a door handle? - and for the last time, IT'S WIRE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ha, I wondered why that string trick on the door wouldn't work for me, so I scrolled down and saw a new WT. Thanks @Rookwings!

    ReplyDelete
  89. You're most welcome, Truus!
It's nice to know I helped at least one person =D
