  1. im here and I am stuck..I have a green pencil and a newspaper and cant do anything. I know the letters on the wall are summer, spring, winter autumn but dont know what do with it...I am thinking it has to do with the pictures on the calendar but I cant get that to work?

  30. put the oil on the newspaper and then put the paper in the fireplace, light it wait until the heat goes to 20 and get the key which opens the drawer with the screwdriver inside

  69. I do remember I spun round the room several times checking temp and got the red on 15C so if I spun again and checked plant again I might have got the green key?

  70. hey guys the code one the ceiling will get the box near the door open. oil+paper+match. oil is 710 upside down. add them up. gives green key.

    First scene...It is cold! Go right

    Read book and see you need, a code for a box, a pencil and paper, and a seed and water...let's find them!

    The letters from code are on the picture and we also can get a pole from atop the frame.
    The code box is left of sofa and a color clue is on the right of sofa.
    Take glass of water. Go right twice

    Use stick to get a key from ceiling light, and while we are at it, check out the stick and find a paper rolled up inside.
    Hmmm, maybe one of these pencils will write on it, grab the green one, we get 103.
    Take the newspaper from the trash, it may come in handy!
    Check the calendar...The months and seasons could help solve the code box, right? Well, you could brute force it ala clio-rose...or use the very nice clue here: Thanks to

    Before we open the box, let's just see what that bushy eyebrowed guy is up to...Oh, get it quick, the bag, while he is rocking to and fro...lol
    There is the seed we need and I'm leaving here now in hopes that the rocking guy will shut up...yes , it worked! Go left.

    Put in the seed and water...but it is too cold to grow! lets go back and see what we get from the blue key...yea! Matches! Fire! Um , no fire yet...

    OK, we have the code box code...and there is OIL
    Put OIL on the paper, put it in fireplace, and light it!

    Ohhh it is warming nicely...poor little melted snowman...around once again and my how it has grown and given fruit! Open another drawer for a SD!!!!

    We know where to use that SD...and another code.

    We need a clue...yes! the light turns on and of...turn it off and look all around...and UP!

    And now I understand what the pencil and paper are for...+ matches..+ OIL...or is it 710?

    then....710+103-31=782...+ green key
    And that gives us the EXIT KEY...

    I was thinking of the very same thing, but that calendar only went until Jan 2012.
    This is why I would have been very surprised if poe had declared January a "spring month".

    I got the box open all by itself. It was totally crazy:
    I read the "20C" as "208" (like an 8 that was not quite finished) and got the box open when I had 2 X 8 and just ran down from 9 to 0. Heheh!!!

  97. (Ah you also want to know the reason for "running down": Well, the explanation is simple: many games in the past only accepted a '0' if you cycled through once, so you could not set a '2' and a '8' but for the second digit, you had to go 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0 until it opened.)

    More detail (for clio-rose, and others to come):
    The wall plaque gives
    gray Winter, pink-Spring, blue-Summer, brown Autumn

    Calendar tells you:
    -September is Summer (blue rain drops),
    -October-November-December are Autumn (brown leaves)
    -January is the first month of Winter (gray dots)
    From this you can infer February and March are Winter, April-June are Spring, July and August are Summer

    Books says the BOX code is
    (1st of blue-summer +3rd of Autumn) x 1st of Autumn + 1st of spring x 1st of summer
    Hence
    (July + December) x October + April x July
    or
    (7+12) x 10 + (4 x 7) = 190 + 28 = 218
