  70. Another beautiful game - not too hard, but I needed some help as usual, this time for the orange gem. Those Sneaky games are my favourites. First, the journey through these luxury houses, gardens, and beaches are like a short holiday trip, second, my first SD game ever was SSSG in New York (how many years have gone since then). I was flashed and since then I'm addicted to escape games. But I do like the variety of the other games too.

    Thanks again!

  90. I'm BACK! *evil laughter*
    *cough*
I've been so busy with school, I'm glad I can write up another of my "amble-throughs"! Man, I've missed doing these. Well, without further ado:

    Bight of Stealthiness

Another day, another treasure! My summer vacation is here, and I'm back on the sneaky treasure hunt!

Today's location looks to be a large one. As always, the front door is locked. I take a moment to wonder over who would leave a crowbar just sitting at their doorstep, but decide I'll just take it rather than worry about it. A part of me says I should use it to break a window, but I did see a sign for ADT Home Security out in the yard, so that's probably not the best idea. I DID see a big rock next to the sign, though... I use the leverage of the crowbar to move the rock aside and uncover a silver key. Chances are, it works on the front door. I test the hypothesis...

I'm in! Aha-- there's the map. I'm a little disappointed as I look at the paper, though; this place is apparently smaller on the inside (as opposed to bigger-- alas). After a three-way eenie menie miny mo (pardon my spelling), I decide to turn right.

Wow-- I almost missed that marble there; it's like it was camouflaged against that stand. I groan a little on the inside as I see the closed door to my right, but I try it anyway. As expected-- locked. I backtrack and take the left route.

Yum! Fruit bowl! I really could go for a snack. I snag one from the top, disappointed that there's nothing underneath it-- but at least I still get the fruity goodness. To my greater disappointment, the knives in the rack on the counter appear to be fake. I finding nothing else, so I keep moving.

Either someone had a party and left cups behind or that someone is a failure at potting plants. Whatever the case, I figure I'll make note of the colors anyway-- just in case. On the coffee table is a marble box. I feel a little sill with only one marble, so I turn left. Oh, man-- another closed door... Yep. Locked. With a sigh, I backtrack twice and go up (er, straight... whatever).

I love the openness of this room-- it reminds me of home. Switch! I do so love switches-- they're almost as fun as buttons. Wandering the room, the artist in me notices something painfully wrong with this painting: it's all out of order! There's something else, too... It's in parts! And I can swap them around easily! I rearrange the image and not only satisfy my inner artist, but also obtain a pink gem! I pocket the stone and turn to my right.

I wince a little at the sight of fitness equipment-- I'm barely getting into one form of exercise, and I'm still not a huge fan in general... Oh! But one DOES have a marble! I look at the conspicuous paper on the floor next. Cute birds-- the directions they're looking in may be useful to know. Apparently, this "piece" was done by one "Ms Tyro." Something strikes me as funny about that name, but I shrug and backtrack (seeing no other way to go). I figure I may as well go left.

So, flowers spawn marbles now...? Or marbles are trying to claim they are plants... Either way, this makes for three marbles in my pocket, so no complaints here. I check out the vent and sigh-- I crawl into this awkward position with this statue and don't even have the screwdriver it turns out I'll need. I carefully move so as not to disturb the statue. I try both closed doors, unsurprised they are locked. Back downstairs I go, then up and out.

Marbles must really have identity issues right now-- another one thinks it's a plant. With a sigh, I take in the serene view for a moment before glancing to my left. Not far from the edge of what I had seen before is a large, intimidating-looking fence. Right it is, then.

    ReplyDelete
  91. (cont.)

That is one conspicuous flower. Too bad I don't carry gardening tools at all times. Oh, well. I investigate the tables by the lounging chairs in the yard and step on something that nearly makes me fall as I slip on it. Hey! This makes for five marbles! Forgetting about the flower, I dash back to the marble box.

I place the marbles, the box opens, and I find a blue key. I seem to remember a blue-key door, so I dash right three times to use the key.

Success! My prize is... another switch! Also a number box, but numbers are less fun than switches-- all of the math in my astronomy class reminded me of that. Finding little else, I continue right.

I do wonder what kind of person puts historical war-themed art above the toilet... 1812, huh? Don't hear about that one often. My ADHD draws my gaze down. The lid of the back of the toilet rests at an odd angle. I look inside on a hunch... I'm deeply disturbed at the though of someone leaving something as useful as a screwdriver in a toilet. I start back towards the vent I saw before, but I pause in the next room.

I glance at the number box. 'Aw, what the hell?' I think. 'Might as well try.' I set the number box to "1812" and try the open switch... What do you know? It works. I pocket the green gem and continue to the vent.

I squeeze awkwardly between the statue and the wall, pull the screwdriver from my pocket, and proceed to open the vent. There's a white key! I remember this door, too! I rush back to the room with the marble box and unlock the door.

All the furniture in this place looks so comfy... but there's no time for lounging around today-- I'm on a mission! Hey, what's this box...? Colored dots...? They seem to move in these white circles... I remember the picture by "Ms Tyro" and decide to try the directions in which each of the colored birds had been looking. It works! I snag a yellow gem. Humming a certain related song by Coldplay, I continue to the left.

As, god dangit! I got another of my spontaneous nose bleeds! At least there are tissues in here. However, when I trade the first tissue for the second, I find a black key. Normally, I would be ecstatic, but there are no more tissues in the box. I have to wait a few more minutes for the bleeding to stop before I can move on.

Finally, I am able to return upstairs and use my black key.

Look! By the window! It's another switch! While I flip it, I notice something outside. It's probably pretty stupid to lean out the window this far, but I am not giving up a Sneaky Coin! Once entirely back inside, Sneaky Coin safely in my pocket, I spy a box on the dresser. A letter box? But, the only letters I've seen were... I sit in the chair, thinking about possible anagrams of "Ms Tyro." An idea strikes me, and I try using "stormy"... Success! I now have a violet gem! I continue on to the next room.

Man-- why does this shower have to be tall enough to be comfortable to my six foot eight dad? I have to jump to knock down this gold key, but at least I've got it, I guess... Back I go.

My first question her is who actually uses fax machines anymore...? Then again, I can think of a few. Of course, I don't know of anyone who sends a fax in invisible ink. I move the page, curious, and something colorful catches my eye... An orange gem was hiding there! Automatically, I continue left.

Whoever lives here must be a serious gardener if he or she keeps sheers on the bathroom counter. I pause, debating, and finally decide to check the next room to the left before tending to that weird flower.

Here is a switch next to a lovely-looking tub. With the flowers and the "window" to the bedroom, I wonder how romantic this must be with those candles lit. If I find a lighter or something, maybe I'll check it out. Anyway, it's flower time.

    ReplyDelete
  92. (cont.)

I dash back outside, pull out the sheers, and, probably more enthusiastically than necessary, snip the overly-conspicuous flower. It falls away to unveil a blue gem! With that, I dart back upstairs and return to the rooms beyond the gold-key door.

Now I step into the bedroom. On the wall is a safe! I go up to it excitedly, but pause. I count the number of slots, then the number of gems I have... God dangit-- short by one! I spin around the room, turning left as I do so, searching for something useful.

Well, I did find a lighter. I guess I might as well check out that romantic bathtub.

I make my way back into the bathroom and start lighting the candles by the tub, going from right to left. I was right about how romantic this could... Fire is magical! The final candle yields a red gem as I light it!

I grab the gem and sprint back to the safe. I do pause, though. Is there an order...? I think back to the marble box room and the party cups/flower pots. I place the gems so the end result matches those: Pink, green, blue, red, yellow, violet, orange... I turn the handle...

Treasure! My quest is complete! Time to bask victoriously in a lovely tropical sunset.

    (FIN)
