  50. I find it a bit boring that the principle of Selfdefiant's Sneaky Games is always the same: marble box, diamonds , kitschy big houses and nearly nothing to reason but having instead to search in too may rooms for clues.

That's why I decided to not playing Sneaky Games anylonger.

Tesshi-e's games for example are far more creative and challenging in comparison to these, concerning mechanisms and clues.

    ReplyDelete
  51. yay! home to Sneaky!

however - having problems with the 5th marble.

so far (no map yet as not in the house!)

one to left of first scene
    one up from first scene
    one left from there
one left again (goggles needed scene )

haven't yet found one in the first scene but have rd/black/white box I need a clue for.....

    ReplyDelete
  52. got it finally! it was in the first scene

    ReplyDelete
  53. Gaelle: I BEG to differ. SD games have had more twists and turns than any other games I've played. The puzzles are challenging and varied throughout all his games. I've been playing them for more than 5 years and haven't become tired of them at all.

    Keep on truckin' Selfdefiant!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. SOuless Minion: In the first scene (the one where the red/black/white puzzle box is) there is a marble to the left of the left a little white stick. It's sort of in the middle of the screen. There are two little white sticks - look closely at the bottom of the left one. If you found that one, then it looks like you missed the one in the helicopter scene to the right of the screen near bottom.

  55. thank Zoe!

just missing the pink gem now - i can see from raasti's earlier post it's in U but where?
I can't find a code for the 4 colours on the posts.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Shoot, 99 coins. I looked and looked. So aggravating. Must be hiding in the bar.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Souless - you have to push the colored dots in order

    spoiler:

Blue, green, red, yellow, red, blue, green

    ReplyDelete
  60. laker 532 - ME too! Only 99 coins. I played twice and looked both times with a fine tooth comb, but could not find the 100th no matter how hard I looked! Must be really tricky one somewhere!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks Zoe- Thought it was just me :)

And each time I need to consult the comments for one or two items.
    Thanks to all who contribute.
And many thanks to SD - please dont stop. Your games are a delight!

    ReplyDelete
  67. The end screen says to be ready for the next mission, it will be coming sooner than we think.
    I hope that's true!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Not to be picky, but if one candle is lit and another isn't, why do we need matches? Can't we use the one candle to light the other? JK, but it does explain why most games have us light both!

Fun game, and even managed without chatbox help. That rarely happens.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I also disagree with Gaelle.
Every game designer has certain themes that they use again and again which make their games uniquely their own.

    - Sneaky has his marble box and gem safe,
    - Tesshi-e has its hippo and wobbly picture,
    - Inka has it remote control puppet and hookshot,
    - CognitoEgoSum has its power-punch and mailbox,
    - Esklavos has its magic door,
    - Ainars has its ‘artifact’ keys and dirty walls,

In fact, Self-defiant is one of the most talented designers, with not just one, but several unique and popular series (Sneaky, Asylum, Find HQ, Dinx, Flophone, Kidnapped by, Must Escape, grayscale and Crystal hunter)

    ReplyDelete
  70. If every Selfdefiant game was the same I could escape more often without help. This time it was the red-black-white hint (I tried everything but the first letter thing) and the red gem. I knew an "end room" had to have more than just coins, and I could have sworn I had hovered around the whole room. India_Indie has hit the nail on the head.

The New York Sneaky was my first escape game ever, and since then I am infected and addicted. SD games have good graphics, they are logical (after reading the hints I always feel dumb), there is no senseless pixelhunting and mad clicking. Furthermore, Selfdefiant is one of those rare designers that communicate with us. He is always polite and grateful for our feedbacks. I do like that relationship and I want to thank him once more for his time and effort - and that at no charge. Just look at those tons of smartphone apps where you have to pay for a piece of trash!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Thanks everyone! I tried making a game once that didn't have the usual design elements and there were more complaints than I have ever had. I try to keep Sneaky games similar that's why there are other games like India_Indie mentioned. :) Thanks for pointing that out India_Indie!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Where is the remote for the room H I can't find it

    ReplyDelete
  73. I put all the gems on the safe but it wont open. What am I doing wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  74. SD- Thanks for commenting here. Your games rock, play them all and am always excited to see Sneaky - like an old friend. Your work is first rate, always challenging enough. Go ahead and take the rish of complaints, without change there would be no progress :) Your the master.

  75. Finaly out blue colors were tricky on safe....

    ReplyDelete
  76. @ smarties,

Thank you for the explanation of the box in B. I can't find the lighter, though.

    ReplyDelete
  77. where is the clue for the gem order? thanks

    ReplyDelete
  78. Love the Sneaky Selfdefiant! I aslo dissagree wtih Gaelle's negative comments. All of these are like mini vacations, peering into someone's home. I love these so much I even go to the archives and replay older ones. I was ready to find out how to contact Selfdefiant for I was getting worried if he was ok not haveing a new Sneaky game in a long time. Keep doing what you're doing Selfdefiant, these are wonderful!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. There is one serious problem with Sneaky games - I never catch one live!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Self-Defiant, Could you make the 'clear' button on the map a different shape or color than the 'close' button. I keep hitting it by accident, when I'm in a hurry.
Usually when I'm trying to squeeze in a game, before I have to leave to work ;).

    ReplyDelete
  81. Probably I'm not that interested of Sneaky games because I'm rather a gamer that prefers Puzzles (Light Bot, Shift, Bloxorz etc.) about many Escape Games, that is, thinking without having to search in every room's corner for things or hints.

By the way, Tesshi-e's hippo isn't comparable to Sneaky games, because it is only one element, but his puzzles nearly always change.

Nonetheless, Self-Defiant, you have one series I really like: It's Flophone, because it is more variable and puzzles are embedded into a narrative context. So I would be glad if you made more of these, they are great! :) It's graphics are very good too, as well as those of the Flonga series.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Thanks @Selfdefiant for another good game and thanks @LaChatonFou for helping me find the last coins!
For anyone else stuck looking for the red gem -- it's not in the light fixture itself, but in a knot in the wood just to the left.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Great game as usual. I don't often comment but I play all the time and appreciate the hints given.
And to Gaelle...I don't understand why you needed to make any comment at all...if you don't like the game don't play it...simple...there are thousands who do play and enjoy SD games.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Bronte.cakes

I comment because I think Self Defiant appreciates different opinions about his game and could draw inspirations for little changes in the future out of it. He knows know WHY someone doesn't play his game. It simply gves him more information about it.

You may probably not know, that we live in a democracy with the right of freedom of expression...

  91. Self-Defiant, your escape games are, by far, the best, considering the entire world of escape games. My only criticism is that you don't make enough of them. Sometimes, when there're no new Self-Defiant games, I have to actually talk to my wife. :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. LOL matthew. My sentiments exactly.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Another wonderful game Self-Defiant. A cup of coffee and a Self-Defiant game. There's nothing better. What a great way to retreat for a bit and relieve the stress of the work day. There are plenty of different kinds of games out there--and, as pointed out, you make several types yourself. Gaelle can find plenty of other games that fit his or her narrow description of what is a satisfactory game. Having a choice is a blessing. So what if this gamer has decided that the Sneaky series is not his or her personal choice?! Please don't let one person ruin what thousands of people have decided is their choice. Your games rock for us.

  94. http://www.tickld.com/t/255260 SOMEONE NEEDS TO SHOW THIS TO SELFDEFIANT!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Couldn't wait to escape the world's most tastelessly furnished house in the world's ugliest landscape (Phillipines?), but after finding all rooms, flipping all switches, unlocking all boxes, retrieving all implements and gems and all 100 coins, I have had to resort to a walkthrough, and still can not leave. It must be the switches... is there a clue to the on/off pattern? There are only about 720 possible combinations of on and off and I really do not care to waste more time trying all of them...
