  4. nope no door for Q for me either...
The pearl may have been behind a panel that you can only see with the lantern.....don't remember where now....

    ReplyDelete
  5. The gold key opens the door to Q, even though it says it needs a blue key.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Zoe, you still in...did you get into Q?

    ReplyDelete
  7. nokra - I think we have to re-start to get into Q. I don't have the time now, but will definitely play it through the end later.

    ReplyDelete
  8. My game just says the door is locked....so I guess I'm screwed and I will not restart....again!

  12. I give up. This is the 4th time the game restarted. The room in Q would not take my gold key. Had 11 orbs, etc. Very disappointed in this one. Sorry, SD. I'd be happy to volunteer as a tester. This one just had way to many bugs.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Any luck with be box in L? I tried using the hint from the TV, but no luck. Ascending order, descending order, clicking the arrows the given number of times, etc. I even tried putting gems on the arrows.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Finally out! thanks for all your helpful hints.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm sorry about the bugs. Everything is fixed now. :)

  31. SD - Just played - still some errors.
Door to Q labeled blue not gold
Order for the yellow triangles in L does not match the clue
Hard to see the number on some of the pool balls.

    Otherwise great.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ condominioparkburiti the pizza clue is supposed to be for the box in L but the order does not match. Presw in order of 1243 not 1234

    ReplyDelete
  43. I had to go to the video WT on the SD forum to figure out how to get the Citrine gem. In case anyone else is as dense as I apparently am, you have to move the billiard balls into a line using the number clue from the fireplace where the orb bottle was.
    So line them up: 8463512
If you can't read the numbers,
    8 is black
    4 is purple
    6 is green
    3 is red
    5 is orange
    1 is yellow
    2 is blue

Alguem viu a safira ou sabe como resolva caixa em O? NÃO QUERO SPOILER!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. In J, collect orbs. Click gray box on floor left of couch. Solve using clue from map. Get a lighter. Light "strange candle" above the couch. Collect ruby.

Go to K-light fire in fireplace to get more orbs.
Go to C-light candle. Collect green key.
Go back to K. Use green key on right door to access room L. Light fire in fireplace to collect amethyst. Click on box (lower right corner of mirror) and use TV clue to solve (reverse 3 & 4) to get silver key.

Go left to room A. Collect orbs and knife from lower left window. Zoom in on pool table to read pool ball numbers, then line them up according to earlier 7 digit code from under TV. (Blk Pur, Grn, Red, Ong, Yel, Blu). Collect Citrine.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Go to I-collect orbs. Use knife on carpet (dark circle under note) to get blue topaz. Read note and write down the number of white boxes between the black boxes to get another 7 digit code. S6P95O7I9L5E6R.
Go to D-use lantern to see screwed panel. While holding lantern and SD, open vent to get gold key.
Go to G-Use SD on screwed panel. Get emerald.
Go to O. Use gold key on door to the top to access room Q. Collect orbs. Get wand from under table.
Go to K. Use hammer on hollow panel to the lower left side of the fireplace. Use lantern. Get opal.
Go to N. Use wand on black mist. Collect sapphire and more orbs.
***If you have 75 orbs, go downstairs and get crystal so you can move quickly to room Q.
Go to room Q. Open book and collect aquamarine. Note gems that go with each month.
Click on picture and note dots that go around the frame. Place the gems in month order (not the order in the book) with January being the dot to the right of the dot marked December. Once the gems are placed correctly, you will get a sacred key. Return to main stairway, room E and go down. Use key to ESCAPE!!!!!

    Good luck!

  54. SD... I dont know why you should ever feel the need to apologize for having a glitch in your games... first and foremost... Your games are the best... always... and you watch the comments and reply if there is something that isnt just right. You, sir, are a class act. You make the best games out there. And, you offer them all for free. I just wish I had half the talent that you do. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Actually, my heart skips a beat when I see you have a new game out.. I do the happy dance! So... thank you! I dont always post.. but I always play! And to Zoe, Premiere, Pdpgh, Marita... and all your other followers.. I thank you as well... don't think I could make it through SD games without your help! Happy Day all... and since I am so late in posting, I suspect none of you will see it.. but I still thank you! Diane

    ReplyDelete
  55. @SD - I want to join diad in what he/she said. Your games are my favorite so after 6 hours out, I came back to my house and now I am going to start all over again - that's how much I liked them :) SO do not apologize for anything.

And now.... GOING IN - AGAIN!!!!

  56. Wow, TWO Walkthroughs are written ... stunning Jane q and LaChatonFou ... I was not expecting thát ...

    ReplyDelete
  57. I just played the game through with no glitches except for the puzzle box in L still not matching the clue. The hidden urn drove me crazy (had to cheat to find it). And then later I had no idea where to use the hammer and I knew that 's where the missing opal had to be. Fun game as usual. Thanks Selfdefiant and I thank all of you who left enough crumbs behind for me to find my way out.

    ReplyDelete
  58. On my walkthrough, I forgot to put in a sentence.
In room O, use lantern to get pearl. My sincerest apologies!

    ReplyDelete
  59. arrie NL, I hope you are having better luck this time through. The only glitch left was the TV clue (think 1,2 4,3 for the order) so hopefully you won't have to use any of the walkthrough! :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. thanks self defiant! great game as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  61. BTW... Jane Q... walkthrough was fantastic!!! Thank you! and to Estafania... I am a girl... the name diad is for me and my husband Diane for me, Adam for him.. hence... diad! :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. diad - awwww - thank you! I agree with what you said a thousand percent. SD's games are the best, and I, for one, would be so sad if they ever stopped.

    ReplyDelete
  63. thanks diad. that was my first attempt at a walkthrough. no one had gotten to it yet, so i tried my hand at it. forgot one little pearl! :) now i know how much work it is to do a walkthrough! and how much more work just to make a great game!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Mel, use the lantern in O for the pearl

    ReplyDelete
  65. Congrats, SD!
You have finally reached Microsoft level design! (That is when you are so popular that it doesn't matter how crappy the code you release is, people still flock to it just because of the name.)

And thanks on his behalf to all the rest of you, his beta-testers. Without you providing that service and writing walkthroughs for him, he would never be able to present fully-fledged and functional products to paying customers. They may not know who is responsible for all that tedious effort, but I do.

    ReplyDelete
  66. And out! The pearl is in O, you just have to use the lantern.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Wellllll.....after 4 tries, and a loss of half my hair and ALL of my sanity, I persevered and FINISHED! From being in the lead last night to finishing last tonight, it has been interesting. The grandmonsters had fun though, trying every possible combination on the puzzles. Nice try, SD; we still love you and the efforts you make to entertain us peons.Even flawed games are good because they make us THINK to see what else might work. It's all about problem solving that separates us from the insects. Can't wait for the next one!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thank you, Self Defiant! Your games are always interesting, and the fixed-up version of this was worth waiting for!

    ReplyDelete
  69. SD, thanx, truly, for an AWESOME game! Yes, there were glitches, and more than normal, but you are human and these things happen. Even though I had to play, replay and replay again, I still thoroughly enjoyed this game!!

  76. Color box in J? I've exited x3, restarted x3, cleared cache, etc. Still no color box in J. I'm sorry, but this is the worst SD game I have ever played and I'm very disappointed. Can't make any progress, find any more keys or tools, no color box, no directions box. What's up?!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Um....isn't it on the floor to the left? little gray box?

    ReplyDelete
  78. thanks for the WT jane, but you didn't tell where to find the screwdriver. I finally saw the color box in J and have made progress, but now no screwdriver. very annoying...

    ReplyDelete
  79. purple - the screwdriver is in the box in O - the code is on a piece of paper right before O - count the white boxes in between the black boxes for the 7-digit number. (It's been spoiled in the comments, but I'll give it here to save you time):

  80. Oh well, I guess purple is not looking for anyone live anymore. purplepinkflower: Every now and then I come back - especially since this game had so many problems - to see if anyone is struggling and try to help. The comments in the beginning of the game are tedious to go through because of all the problems that needed fixing, so I hope you get through because it really is a great game!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Thanks SD--there simply is no contest. Your games are the best!

    ReplyDelete
  82. An addition to the walkthroughs... there are 10 orbs in room J.

    Another fun game! THANKS SD!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Sherlocked:
Not sure who told you it was a contest, but that is not the case. And even if it was a contest, the ratings would indicate that your assessment would be wrong. It takes more than gorgeous graphics to make a game good.

Regarding the “Sneaky Cheat Console”, it comes up when you press Ctrl+Shift and can be dismissed by clicking the picture of Sneaky.

(You’ll have to ask SD about valid commands.)
