  1. The light in the chandelier in the first room changes colors.
The colors are used on the wall in the upstairs bedroom. (There is no arrow, just click on the top of the stairs.)

  2. Numbers & an angles glow red when passed over. They are the clue for the safe on the wall in the bathroom (one arrow left from 1st room). You get a bar of soap.

  3. Collect ten bats. Hang them from the balcony in the 1st room to get a key.

  4. Collect 12 pieces of paper. Place them in a frame on the piano (one arrow to the right of 1st room).

  5. Numbers & an angles gives nothing
    ten bats gives nothing

  6. I forgot about the bats. Big sorry.

After you set the colors upstairs, place the lizard below them, you get 5 numbers. Click on the bats following the number sequence.

  7. I had to try the sequence on the safe in the bathroom a couple of times before it worked for me.

  8. Click on the piano keys. Use the paper clue to play a sequence. Each shape is labeled somewhere in the game.

    The white piano keys are A, B, C & D. The black keys are A1, B1 & C1.

The arrows on the clue mean you should read the clue in the direction of the arrow. (L to R on top row, R to L on 2nd row, etc.)

  9. Well, I've not gotten much further and I gotta go.

Good luck, and please leave clues.

  10. I should not make comments late at night. I was half asleep and realized I can't count.

Not that this is very important, but I believe there are 16 pieces of paper to find, not 12 as I mentioned earlier.

Now that I cleared my mind of that, I can go back to bed.

  11. If you've got the soap, place it in the bathtub... Gives number for safe with pins... (click the pins) Get a razor from that...
Also have some cheese (using the silver key from piano)
The numbers upstairs which can be tilted is for the drawer in the room before (drawer is just beneath the A1) Gives mousetrap...
Add cheese to the trap and place it on the bed... Catch a mouse...
Use razor on mouse for another code to use on the panel in bathroom... Get a spider...
Use the spider on the webs above piano, which opens a door below to use the golden key (from bats)... Gives key for exit door...

  12. I've checked the piano sequence over and over again, and nothing happens.

  13. OK, this is the sequence that works on the piano - I've got it now -

  15. Collect the right hand torch from the room with the big staircase in the middle. Use the torch to light a completely dark patch in the bedroom where you used the moustrap ( the really scruffy bedroom with the big coloured numbers in it), and then use the numbers you reveal in that corner as the order in which to place the one spider on the four webs. Keep taking it back once you've placed it, and then a door will open above the piano where you'll find a keyhole.
Thank you Peggy and OGGRR for your hints, without which I would have given up on this game a long time ago. Then I had to resort to the Video Walk-though for the last bits. Was it worth it? Sort of.

  16. Thanks Diane. Mind you, I'm so addled with this game that I see I can't even spell 'walkthrough'!

  17. You are so right. Everyone here generously give great hints.

  18. Okay, so where the heck is the supposed lizard?

  19. Okay it is on the wall in the piano room to the right of the doors.

  20. I can't get the 1-2-3-4 sequence to work on the safe in the bathroom. Help!

  22. Thanks, AO, but that combination doesn't work for me. In fact, I've tried all 16 possible combinations, and none of them work.

Looks like I'll have to give this one up.

  23. Similar glitches/bugs in other G2R games, too...! :(

Found a trick in another game, may work here also:
Try first one to highlight, then light off, then highlight again.

  24. Son of a gun, that worked! Many thanks, AO!!

  25. Wow, really? Great!!! :D

  26. Thanks for the great hints! I was always looking for hot spots to place things. I had no clue where to place the mousetrap or the torch.

@Clodagh, if you read the piano hint correctly, you get the exact sequence you posted. (Lines 2 & 4 are read right to left.) :-D

  27. Torch clue in bedroom is not strictly necessary. I kept repositioning the spider and eventually the key was revealed.
