  48. Pity about the map, but it was still fun.
    I miss the longer games!

FYI, for those having trouble with the safe.
Selfdefiant doesn't do them like regular combo locks.
On combo locks you always go clockwise around twice to the first number, counterclockwise back around past the first number to the second, and then clockwise to the third.
Selfdefiant's combo locks you just go to the numbers without having to go around multiple times.

  57. I thought because the game was a nightmare that SD did the map that way on purpose! Thought it was funny. Only problem was the flashlight which was impossible to see. I went all over S 3 times before finding the pixel. Would have finish the game on my own otherwise.

A big sloppy kiss to SD for making the map easier to find!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wait, no future maps? Noooooooo! Please, SD, it makes the walkthroughs so much easier to describe.

    ReplyDelete
  59. If you're talking about not having maps in these multi-room asylum games sorry but I won't be playing. It's too frustrating and like Lurker said too hard to ask for help finding things or helping others. Please don't do that to us!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Some of the best games I've made didn't have maps. I don't even know what was wrong with the one that was in there. Can anyone tell me?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm stuck so using the vid w/t - I do not understand the piano solution ? ? - The vid w/t goes too quickly over the keyboard and I don't get the hint either - HELP Please !!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. And Ainars was too predictable? Bless SD but these games are way too familiar.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Selfdefiant, the best games you have made have all had maps.
I remember one game you made that was so big it had 3 maps!
    That was awesome!!!
Whatever though, your games are yours, and of you don't want to include maps, don't include maps.

I am going to sound like a broken record here, but here goes anyway. If you are going to include maps though, you should at least use them enough to test them.
Otherwise you won't know that they are off until the game has been released and people have been put off by it.
I know you are using new software, but that shouldn't preclude you from doing thorough testing.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Nuckelhedd, it is true that this place has changed. And it is true that the overall quality of the games here has dropped a lot int he last year.
But there are still a few great game makers here, and as you pointed out there are still some nice people here willing to help others get through the games.
    I agree with Joe M.
If there is not enough here to keep you happy, then you should leave.

  65. The map shows you can go right from K to get to L but there isn't a right arrow in the room.

When you go up in room J you end up in N instead of O like the map shows (except the map doesn't show a connection from J to O)

The map shows you can go up in N to get to S but there is no up arrow in N

When you go up in I you end up in M instead of N

When you go up in M you end up in S instead of Q

When you go up in G you end up in L instead of M

The map doesn't show that you can go up in L but there's an up arrow which takes you to Q.

    ReplyDelete
  66. My observations on the map debate - keep them. As others have stated, they make asking for help / walkthroughs much easier. Trying to work out which room is meant by a description is a pain, especially if there are different views of the same room.

However, I would say either you start the game with a map or the map is in the start room or within 1 room of the start as it was here. (Ditto for orb jars - there is nothing more annoying than spending half the game looking for something to keep your orbs in.)

  67. Hi, Self-Defiant! After reading the negative comments here, I thought it might be nice for you to know that I'm sure there are many like me who very much enjoy your games and appreciate the effort you put into them, but don't usually leave comments. I especially enjoy the very interesting photos you use and those very challenging puzzles! So, Thank You!!!

  68. I thought the map was appropriate for a game titled "Blood Nightmare."

    ReplyDelete
  69. The map has been fixed. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Love your games, don't change anything, it is a game to figure out how to get out and that includes the maps and the orb jars. Some are harder than others. We who play all of the time figured out the map despite it not working correctly. The only thing I would say is make them bigger like the 3 map one, one that takes a few hours to do.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wuhoo! Came back and played once I saw the map was fixed. Nice game!

    ReplyDelete
  72. need help with word for box in D. Anagram secret not working.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Enjoyed this game. SD - you just can't please people nowadays.

People ask for more games, so you make the ones in series. Then they want a more difficult game, so you make an Asylum or SSSG. Then they want a different or harder game so you hide the orb jar, make the game dark, leave out the map or try something completely different like The Box.

    And you still get complaints.....

I've enjoyed all of your games and appreciate the time you spend on them.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I LOVE SD's GAMES! I gave up on ENA coz they're so nonsense most of the times!. I love these scary ones and the ones that go for multiple days (except I wish they were longer and were all available on one day :P) SD ignore all the haters, they're everywhere no matter what you do! Remember there are people (like me) who LOVE what you do and appreciate your talent! Your games are fun and keep me and my kids fully entertained! We sit as a group and hunt out clues, one writes and we all figure it out :D you are my hero SelfDefiant xx

    ReplyDelete
  75. Somehow I found this the easiest Asylum game by far despite the map thingy. The map I found immediately. The torch I had to pixel hunt for even after having read in which room it was - too dark, sorry lol. Other than that no complaints this time :-). Keep it up SD.

  76. WOW. You kids show up and don't follow the rules, don't help anyone out, Turn this into your own little chat box and then when long time players and contributers call you out you always say the same shit. LEAVE. This is exactly what iis wrong with gaming today. Young people with no clue come in and wreck what others have built. here is a standard of conduct and that includes being helpful and NOT posting FIRST like a noob and against the rules. But you lids are entitled you are all special snowflakes and insted of JOINING what is already here you try to take it over and push the people that helped make this place out. Freaking typical. I occasionally come back and delete my comments if I though they were too harsh and this time I didn't want to be too negative towards SD. But the fact still remains, the quality of his games has seriously fallen. It is now quantity of quality. It shows in the broken maps and mislabeled items and juvenile 5 day series. I suppose he has targeted a younger audience with lower IQs. That is what you millenials are. You don't even know how badly you have it. I wish you the best but it is obvious you can't even follow simple rules and play by established ones. Nope, you need to take over and ruin it.You made this place worse not better. Same thing you did with gaming. #GamerGate exists because people with your same attitude decided to wreck what my generation built.

  80. For me and my likes....I was hooked on the very first SD game I played about 4 years ago and look for them to play...loved them then....love them now ...if there is a glitch then soon comes a fix....keep'em coming SD!!!!

  81. I don't know if I'm insanely too late for my comments to mean anything but just in case here's my thoughts:

    1. SD, I love ALL your games, but I can get disoriented, so I love your maps to. Always provide maps, pleeeease?

    2. This is not the place to be sitting here spouting off your mouth like a spoiled brat. Compared to some, I may be young, but I AM respectful. Just a note for any who might have that young people hatred thing, like Knuckle does.

    3. The safe didn't like me, and I tried and tried, but it didn't, so couldn't finish. Nice game though.

  82. hoe to open wall safe in E ??

    ReplyDelete
  83. What way to open safe? what way to turn to the numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  84. How to play the piano correctly? The hint says A-H-E-B-H-C. There's no H in piano.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Self defiant, I need some help with the combo lock in E. Do I just go to 3 then 19 then 14?
