  72. This worked for me on the x-puzzle: Set all the x's black. Leave, do other stuff. When I came back one of the x's was red. Make it black. Set the others to the correct colors as indicated above. Then it worked.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'll try that and hope for the best. Thanks!

  81. I got very excited to see another one of Selfdefiant's longer games posted.
But I was let down, again, by the same things that have plagued his games for the last year or so.
Bugs, recycled code segments that cause things to be called other things, and the inevitable too dark/too small to see hotspots.

It is very disappointing that these same issues keep cropping up for so many people.
Look at all the comments from people who couldn't see something!

Selfdefiant is usually really good about coming in and fixing game play glitches, I just wish he would fix the major problems with his games as attentively.

The only way I was able to play this game was to strip the swf file out of the code and run it in a separate browser window.
I could then see the small hotspots.
Even then I never would have seen the gem slots. (Thx AO!)
One thing I noticed doing that is that the game loaded fast and ran really well.
So for those of you having problems with Selfdefiant's games crashing, you can try that.

I still gave it 3 stars, because it is playable and if it were displayed properly it would be really good.
But I really experienced more frustration than fun with this one.

  82. @ AlphaOmega, @ Wendy,

Thank you ! Another hotspot that I missed !

    ReplyDelete
  83. The X grid doesn't work. I checked it several times with AlphaOmega's picture, I reseted all the crosses to black, went out, came back... did again the puzzle... but that doesn't work.

    ReplyDelete

  89. Record clue is bollocks >_<XXX
Sorry SD this game looked like fun but wound up being annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks everyone, for those who find it hard it's because I have been making them a little easier. I tried making it a bit harder, sorry if it's too much. :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Usually love SD games but giving up on this one. No map and tiny hot spots, too frustrating. Maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  92. @Selfdefiant. The game was just right. Not too difficult or too easy. Thank you for your work to entertain us.

For those having trouble with the X-grid / colours puzzle, my mistake was not counting correctly. Since the last letter of "carrot" was coloured and the last letter of "apple" was coloured, I placed them in the same column. No emerald appeared until I realized "apple" is only 5 letters. (face palm)

    ReplyDelete
  93. The place with gem slots was so dark that I couldn't find it until I watched a videowalkthrough.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Agree that everything is good except the gem slot is too dark. I think the game should challenge our mind but not our eyesight.

    ReplyDelete
  95. X grid doesn't work. Tried everything, resetting to black, going away for a while, entering only in the order on the page, .... zip. I'm closing the game, I have no desire to start over from scratch. Sorry Self-Defiant, I love your games but starting over when I'm so near the end isn't an option.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Ok seriously, what is the deal with the X grid? I put in the correct solution and nothing happens. Would like to be able to finish this game...

    ReplyDelete
  97. X and it turned out 0 from top to down and after that I did when found 4 stones. I left with friends)

  99. The X grid solution was given by AO at 10:32 am on 3/5/15. Just highlight the link and open a new tab to view it. (You don't HAVE to do this, but you can if you want to - lol!)

    Thanks so much, AO!

So this was a little harder than other games...no big deal because we have each other to figure it out! I could see things just fine. No map? Make your own - I did and it worked just fine for me. (Like the old times when Sneaky was first around!)

Thanks again, SD - much appreciated for the challenge!

    ReplyDelete
  100. I just can't play these any more, it crashes time and time again. I get more suspense from wondering if it's going to crash than I do the game now. Used to like thses too

    ReplyDelete
  101. Like the last two asylum games, this game crashes repeatedly after only a short time. I have to start over from the beginning and then it crashes again---repeatedly. No other games---Ainars or anybody else's---crash on my computer.

I have the newest version of Flash Player and very adequate memory and disk space on my computer.

Any ideas about what is causing this???

    ReplyDelete
  102. This was the first self defiant game that I had to X out of. I was still an excellent game as always. I like when they are hard as long as the clue writers are here with a helping hand. Thanks so much for your games SelfDefiant!!!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I could not get the X puzzle to work then realised when I had made them all black 1 was actually purple the black and purple on my pc are so similar,I hope this may help others

    ReplyDelete
  104. I wonder why some people have crash problems with these. I never have any problems with any browser. Seems odd that some of us can play with no problems at all and others always crash...

    ReplyDelete
  105. Has all teh Xs right
    Didnt work

    ReplyDelete
  106. had to give up. no matter what i did the x puzzle wouldn't work....

  108. I find it mind boggling that if someone can not figure out a puzzle, even from clues, they think there is a bug. Obviously, there is not, since most of us could solve it. Nice game, I liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Wow, whatever you have done SD, I have been able to play this game without it crashing, no glitches, nothing. Long may it continue. Great game.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Now I'm going to go back and play the games I was unable to.
Thanks SD...........ps. I made no ammendments to my laptop so I know the change has been done from your end. Ta much SD
