no I don't think purplehell will help here....look at the hint carefully...u'll need to google the cipher u need to use...hints about which cipher to use are usually always written the same was as this one ;)

Hint for 81 to avoid confusions:
You need to find two more information.
One of them is to be used together with what you get from the level page.
And now I'm off to work on new chambers, hopefully you can help each other out in the meantime :)

Are there 2 or 3 total things to find in Chamber 81? I found one thing in the source, and another elsewhere. Am I supposed to combine these two things in some way, or do I use the first clue to find a key for the second clue, or is there a third piece I'm missing?

ReplyDeleteI was able to decipher the message in the second info (file) without finding yet another file - but I know enough about ciphers and codes to understand what TYPE of cipher was used, so found decoder for it by using only first hint (title).
Mystery seems to be telling us that there is another file, that contains info on the type of code used...
I was NOT able to find it - even after arriving at 82! - and I have spent 3-4 times more time (2 hours :-)) on looking for the missing file than for solving the 81 without that file (~30 - 40) min.

ReplyDeleteSo there's a key hidden somewhere...But I've checked all standard extensions (not all the non-standard ones, but there are hundreds of those). So I'm thinking I have the wrong filename.
Also, I haven't figured out how the decryption of the title works in here...Unless it's a tool found through that answer that's not available on PH...

Search for an image (I would say that there are 4 or 5 standard extensions, and it's one of them).
When you got it, make a search for it on that site to find tool :)
Decipher text from the other file that you have probably already found.
from the presence of spaces and punctuation signs in the message, and from the fact that some spaces are doubled, one can conclude it goes about permutation code, and from the fact that all the characters are letters or punctuation, that it is t byte, not bit permutation... if now you looks for synonyms of permutation (math) ...

For 9, use a very common cipher on first clue in the source, it tells you what to use.

its the image of T** I found a clue in the text at the bottom of the page A****8* used what I thought the decipher was and got lots of 0's & 1's.

For 4: Consider your current URL, then also what the animal on the image does. So what letter is the difference? And don't miss a clue in the source ;)
