This time we go back to the very first submachine ever built - historically speaking. It was created by an unknown scientist in the early 20th century. This is the place where it all started.   14. the cipher plate 1 and 2 gives you access to other zones... in one of them I found a missing ligth bulb and another secret marbel...

  16. you see a kind of "box" with wires, use the plates in taht box tray different combinations to transport you a differents areas.
    The box is in the first place you go down (in 5-5-2)

    -Lead Casing
    -Wrench
    -Metal Box (Used) - Gives you Gem #1
    -Coil
    -Key (Used)
    -Cipher Plate #1
    -Cipher Plate #2
    -4/5 Secrets

    Also, I lit up the three orange circles using the coil which gave me 3 different symbols for the left, center and right orange circles. The things that haven't been done yet are...

    -Find a way to light up the dark area in 2,1.
    -Open the door located next to the rubble.

  47. The Metal box is found in the room with the doors that all look the same. Check the gauges on the wall and make sure the hands point to the decoration on the rim. If they don't, leave the room and figure out which wheel moves which dial and turn it until all are pointing to the correct spots.
    This will reveal a metal box.

  56. the wrench is in 5-5-2 in the Obervation room next to the chair
    when you go down the stairs and then all the way to the top to the far left is the Oberation room. hope this helps

  59. redroobar... in the first "junk room, find the big plug in the middle of the floor plugged into something broken. undo latched on both sides, then plug it into metal both with lightning bolt. then go to right to find ladder down. sorry if you already got this far but thought maybe you were stuck here?

  61. Im with you redroobar. So went to 7-4-7 and into the room on the left with 2 stools and the green notes on the round thingy in the middle of the room. No wrench anywhere I can see near those chairs!
    And I can NOT find any of these ciphers!! Only thing I have is note, 1 secret and lead casing. Been doing this for ages now too!

  62. you have to go to 552 go right to the cave go through the cave to the room you call junk room open the box on the wall then just down from there is a metal thing you have to open that up on both sides this will give you a plug click on the plug and that will turn on the lights for you to go down the stairs to your right go down the stairs go right all the way to the end then up the stairs and all the way to the left and there is the Observation room the the chair I hope I helped

  67. At last i found the light bulb (not to be mistaken for the coil, which looks like a light bulb) In the level 1,2 look around the rooms until you find a light bulb without a metal grate on the front. Take the light bulb and put it in the dark room on level 2,1.

  69. atv take that cipher back down a level, to the room with the square box on the wall. It has a lot of wires going to the right and a button in the middle. It has 2 slots on top. Use the cipher on that box. You can move it back and forth in the 2 slots to take you to different places. The 2nd cipher is in one of the 2 places you can go with the 1st cipher.

  70. atv... use cipher plate in the metal box on the wall that has a button in the middle and has electrical lines coming out right side. put the cipher in the top of the box. It slides in like a punch card but is a kind of key. if you put it on the right side (of the two slots) that will take you to where the 2nd cipher thing is. By combining the cipher things (0,1) (1,0) (1,2) (2,1) (0,1) (2,0) you will be taken to different places, these are the "levels" or rooms people are taking about.

  76. OK, someone said out charged coil(bulb) in dark room on 2,1. I tried that...but it's not going in anywhere or lighting up the room...please help:) Also, what to do with the metal box from 1,2?

  77. meggers... you don't use it until the end. good luck all. I will give those of you just starting to get around a hint. C6H8O7xH2O would be very corrosive, as in it would eat open a square metal box that you couldn't get open. Good luck!

    there is one w/o a grate take the light bulb, the coil has to be charged on that machine in 0,1 then you stick the coil in those coil holder things

  94. walkthrough


    Click the wheel on the pipe.
    Continue to click on the wheels.
    After the title screen...click the pencil and paper on the floor. This gives you access to notes.
    Go left. Open the hatch on the floor by clicking the levers at the sides, then the central mechanism. Go down and down.
    Go left. Click the button on the computer under the table. Read the three panels on the computer screen.
    Go right twice. Click the button to open the door to the Portal. Step inside.
    Go right and open the hatch. Go down twice, then right.
    Enter 5-5-2 on the Portal machine and click the button.
    Welcome to the Root! Click to the left of the machine and follow the route down to the Secret (1/5). Go back.
    Follow the metal walkway to the right until you see the crack in the wall. Enter it and go right.
    There is a brown Lead Casing item here in the middle of the screen. Pick it up. Continue right.
    In the room with the power box there is a fallen pillar with a plug attached to it.
    Click the cover on the power box to remove it.
    Click the latches on each side of the plug (look carefully). Click the plug twice to switch on the power.
    Go right and down.
    Go right three times, then take the ladder up.
    Open the grey box by clicking on it. (not sure what this does)
    Go left twice. Enter the room. Pick up the Wrench on the floor, under the chair.
    Leave the room. Return to the floor below, to the room with a ladder through the floor. Go down.
    Go right. Use the Wrench to remove the bolts on the grey panel.
    Take the Rusty Key. Go up two floors to the room with the empty boxes on the wall. Enter.
    Use the key on the leftmost box. Take Cipher Plate 1.
    Go down to the floor below, to the room with the grey box with a button and wires coming from it.
    Put the Cipher Plate 1 in the slot on the RIGHT of the transporter, then click the button.
    You've arrived in room (0,1). You can leave the Cipher Plate 1 in the box for now. Go down and left.
    Pick up Cipher Plate 2 on the chair.
    Go right and down to the bottom.
    Go left. Use the Wrench on the panel. Collect the Secret (2/5).
    Go right twice. This is the charger room. You'll need to return here later. Go back to the transporter (up the ladders).

    STAGE 2
    You need to understand how the transporter works. There are two Cipher Plates and two slots on the transporter, Left and Right. Putting Cipher Plate 1 in the Left slot and Cipher Plate 2 in the Right slot will send you to room (1,2). So there are 7 possible destinations. The Root area is (0,0). Got it? On we go!
    Go to room (2,0). (That's plate 2 in the left slot, nothing in the right slot.)
    Click the hatch to open it. Go down. Click the top button. The needle should point to the right. Go back up.
    Go left and repeat. Pick up the Empty Coil inside the hatch.
    Go left again and repeat. Go left and take a look at the brick wall. Return to the transporter. We'll return here later...
    Go to (0,1). Go to the charger. Put the Empty Coil on the raised platform on the charger and click the handle on the wheel three times. Pick up the charged Coil.
    Go to (0,0). Go right twice and put the coil into the slot.
    Go to (2,0). Go left twice. Click the button to open the box for Secret (3/5).
    Go to (0,0) and get the Coil.
    Go to (1,0). Go down and right. Put the Coil in the slot.
    Go to (0,2). Go down and left. Green symbols are visible on the displays. Go all the way to the left.
    Click the wheel. You should hear something being released. (If not, maybe the coil has to be in (0,0). Haven't checked.)
    Go to (0,2). In the room all the way to the left (where the wheel on the pipe is), click on the part of the floor behind and to the left of the pipe for Secret (4/5).
    Go to (2,0). Go all the way left past the brick wall.
    Take Wisdom Gem 2. Go left and up the stairs. On the chair is Secret (5/5).
    Go to (1,2). There are four rooms here, arranged in a circle around a fifth room.
    Click as follows: into the room, right. Click the light bulb by the door to take it.
    Go through the door. Go into the central room.
    There are three holes in the wall at head height. Look inside them. You'll see a metal mechanism. It looks like a clock.
    You have to line up the "hand" with the ornate thing on the side/bottom/top of the "clock face". You can do this by going through the rooms and clicking the wheels. It's not that difficult...Go on...
    When everything lines up, you'll find a Metal Box in the central room. Take it.
    Go to (1,0). Go down and right twice. There's a tiled tub here. Click the little brown label on the right to get a note.
    Click the top/inside of the tub. Drop the Metal Box into the tub and watch it dissolve. Go back.
    Use the Wrench on the outflow pipe on the right of the tub.
    Take the Wisdom Gem 1 from the tub.
    Go to (2,1). Go right and up.
    There are two switches here, one on either side. To open the gate, make sure both have a white light on the RIGHT.
    Follow the room onwards. Use the light bulb on the holder in the dark area.
    Go left twice. Check your notes for the symbols you saw earlier in (0,2). Click the corresponding ones on the wall and then click the button underneath.
    The ladder should slide down. Go down.
    Use the Lead Casing on the top slab of rock.
    Remove the Lead Casing, then use it on the two other slabs.
    Go down and get Wisdom Gem 3.
    Return to the transporter (you need to change the switches to get past the door again).
    Go to (0,0). Go back to the Portal machine.
    Go to 7-4-7. Go right twice. Open the door and go right.
    Place the three Wisdom Gems in the diamond slots on the wall.
    Click the handle on the control panel to the right.
    Congratulations, you win! (With all 5/5 Secrets!)

    1. FIRST YOU START IN FRONT OF PIPES, TURN EVERY VALVE. IT’LL MAKE YOU GO UP AND THEN INTO DORMITORY.
    2. PICK UP NOTEPAD AND GO LEFT ONCE. OPEN TUNNEL BY CLICKING THE TWO ARMS AND THEN HANDLE. GO ALL THE WAY DOWN.
    3. GO ALL THE WAY LEFT AND CLICK COMPUTER BUTTON. CLICK ON THE THREE DOCUMENTS THAT APPEAR ON SCREEN. NOTE LOCATIONS: DOMITORY 0-0-1, ROOT:5-5-2, CORRIDOR:7-4-7. GO BACK AND ALL THE WAY RIGHT. PUSH BUTTON TO OPEN PORTAL DOOR. GO RIGHT AND OPEN TUNNEL.GO ALL THE WAY DOWN THEN RIGHT. GO TO ROOT LOCATION.
    4. WHEN YOU GET TO “ROOT”, CLICK BOTTOM-LEFT OF THE PORTAL, YOU WILL GO DOWN STAIRS THEN RIGHT TO FIND SECRET 1. GO BACK UP.
    5. GO ALL THE WAY RIGHT UNTIL YOU SEE THE VERY FIRST RED SCREEN, THE ONE IN THE TUNNEL, HALF GRAY AND HALF RED. ON THE FLOOR THERE IS A SMALL CIRCLE, PICK IT UP. IT’S A LEAD CASTING. GO RIGHT ONCE. CLICK ON THE PANEL WITH LIGHTING BOLT. FREE THE PLUG BY CLICKING THE SMALL HOOKS, THEN CLICK ON PLUG TWICE. GO RIGHT, DOWN, ALL THE WAY RIGHT AND THEN UP THE LADDER.
    6. GO ALL THE WAY LEFT, ENTER OBSERVATION ROOM.PICK UP WRENCH UNDER CHAIR.GO ALL THE WAY BACK RIGHT AND DOWN STAIRS. GO LEFT ONCE AND DOWN. GO RIGHT AND USE WRENCH ON PANEL.. PICK UP KEY. GO BACK UP TO LEVEL WITH OBSERVATION ROOM. GO INTO FIRST ROOM ON THE LEFT. USE KEY ON LEFT PANEL.PICK UP CIPHER PLATE 1.
    7. GO DOWN ONE LEVEL AND LEFT TWICE. YOU’RE NOW IN FRONT OF THE CIPHER BOX WHERE TO USE THE CIPHER KEY. THE BOX HAS TWO SLOTS THAT EITCH WILL BRING YOU SOMEWHERE ELSE. WHEN YOU’LL GET THE SECOND CIPHER KEY, THOSE BOXES WILL BE ABLE TO BRING YOU TO A TOTAL OF SIX LOCATIONS (0,1)(1,0)(0,2)(2,0)(1,2)(2,1). GO TO 0,1 BY PUTTING KEY IN SLOT 2 AND PUSHING BUTTON.

    LOCATION: 0,1
    1. GO DOWN, LEFT, PICK UP CIPHER KEY 2 ON CHAIR. GO RIGHT, DOWN 3 TIMES AND LEFT. CLICK ON METAL PANEL TO MOVE IT AND USE WRENCH ON SCREWS. PICK SECRET 2. GO RIGHT AND YOU WILL SEE A MACHINE NEEDED LATER. GO ALL THE WAY BACK UP TO CIPHER BOX. GO TO 2,0

    LOCATION:2,0
    1. OPEN SHAFT, GO DOWN AND CLICK UPPER BUTTON TO BRING ARROW TO RIGHT. GO BACK UP AND LEFT, OPEN SECOND SHAFT, GO DOWN, PICK UP EMPTY COIL. DON’T PUSH BUTTON. GO UP, LEFT AND REPEAT WITH THIRD SHAFT. NOW THE THREE ARROWS SHOULD BE ON THE RIGHT. GO BACK TO CIPHER BOX AND TO LOCATION 0,1. USE EMPTY COIL ON THE MACHINE YOU SAW EARLIER TO RECHARGE IT. TURN WHEEL 3 TIMES. TAKE CHARGED COIL AND GO TO FIRST LOCATION (PUSH BUTTON ON CIPHER BOX WITHOUT ANY KEYS IN IT).

    ROOT:
    1.GO RIGHT TWICE AND PLACE COIL ON YELLOW THING. NOW, GO TO LOCATION 2.0. GO LEFT TWICE, PUSH BUTTON ON BOX AND PICK UP SECRET 3. GO BACK TO ROOT (NO KEYS IN CIPHER BOX), TAKE BACK COIL AND GO TO LOCATION 1.0
    1.PLACE COIL ON YELLOW THING. GO TO LOCATION 0.2. GO DOWN, AND ALL THE WAY LEFT AND NOTE THE SYMBOLS ON THE SMALL SCREENS. WHEN YOU GET TO THE FAR LEFT, CLICK VALVE, THEN BOTTOM-LEFT OF PIPE TO FIND SECRET 4.
    2. GO TO LOCATION 2.0. THE PIPE WILL HAVE EXPLODED. GO FAR LEFT, TROUGH BRICK WALL, PICK UP WISDOM GEM 1. GO LEFT AND UP, ON CHAIR IS SECRET 5. YOU NOW HAVE ALL THE SECRETS. GO TO LOCATION 1.2
    LOCATION 1.2
    1. NOW, THIS IS TRICKY. THIS PLACE ACTUALLY GOES IN CIRCLE, AS IF YOU WERE IN A 3X3 GRID WITH A CENTER ROOM. THE ROOM WITH THE ORNATE BOX IS THE CENTER. IN THAT ROOM THERE ARE 3 HOLES ON THE WALLS. IN THE HOLES THERE ARE ARROWS. EITCH ARROW NEEDS TO POINT AT THE METAL THING AROUN IT. TO DO THAT YOU HAVE TO GO ALL AROUND THE ROOMS CLICKING THE VALVES SEVERAL TIMES AND GOING BACK TO CHECK IF THE ARROW IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION. WHEN YOU’VE DONE IT CORRECTLY, THE ORNATE BOX WILL LIFT AND YOU’LL PICK UP A METAL BOX.
    2. NOW PAY ATTENTION, IN ONE OF THE ROOMS AROUND THE CENTER IS A LIGHT WITH NO GRID ON IT. PICK UP LIGHT BULB.
    3. GO TO LOCATION 1.0 AND THEN RIGHT UNTIL YOU SEE THE ACID BATH. PUT METAL BOX IN THE BATH AND USE WRENCH ON THE VALVE. PICK UP WISDOM GEM 2. GO TO LOCATION 2.1

    LOCATION 2.1
    1. GO RIGHT, UP, LEFT. PUSH BUTTON ONCE. GO RIGHT TWICE, PUSH BUTTON ONCE. GO DOWN, RIGHT TWICE AND DOWN. PLACE LIGHT BULB ON THE LEFT. GO LEFT UNTIL YOU SEE A WALL WITH SYMBOLS. CLICK THE SYMBOLS YOU SAW EARLIER AND THEN THE SCREW AT THE BOTTOM. THE FLOOR WILL OPEN REVEALING A TRAP. GO DOWN.
    2. PLACE LEAD CASTING ON FIRST STONE BLOCK, TAKE BACK THE LEAD CASTING AND REPEAT WITH THE 2 OTHER STONE BLOCK, LIFTING EITCH ONE. GO DOWN IN TUNNEL AND PICK UP WISDOM GEM 3.
    3.GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO CIPHER BOX AND TO ROOT LOCATION (NO KEYS). GO TO PORTAL AND THROUGH PORTAL TO CORRIDOR (7-4-7).
    4.IN CORRIDOR LOCATION, GO RIGHT TWICE, PUSH BUTTON ON WALL, GO INTO NEW ROOM. PLACE THE 3 WISDOM GEMS ON THE WALL AND PUSH LEVER. YOU,RE OUT!!!

  103. Nope, can't seem to get the pipe to burst and open the brick wall. I've tried placing the coil in (0,0) and turning the wheel as well as placing it in (1,0) and turning the wheel. No go. Is there anything special about the 3 guages in the room with the brick wall? Maybe I'll take a stab at it another day. Thanks for the help! Submachine games are well done and challenging.

  108. hi everyone! i am giving you the walkthrough for submachine 5 :)

    The Lab

    1. pick up notes from the ground.
    2. go left and open the hatch.
    3. go down the ladder and to the left. Turn on the computer. Read onscreen notes (crucial information will be written in notes).
    4. go far right and open door.
    5. enter new area and go right.
    6. open another hatch.
    7. go down the ladder and right.
    8. enter numbers 5-5-2 on the portal. and hit the button.

    The ROOT

    1. go right until the opening in the wall.
    2. enter the opening and go right. In the screen where colors change notice an object. Lead Casting. Pick it up.
    3. enter the ROOT location.
    4. open the box on the wall.
    5. notice small locks right next to the big plug. Click them and then click the plug. Click the plug again to power up this location.
    6. go right and down and right again until you find a ladder going up.
    7. go up the ladder, then go far eft and enter the control room.
    8. pick up wrench from the ground.
    9. exit the room and go back to the lower level.
    10. locate ladder going down and go there.
    11. go right and use wrench to unscrew the plate from the wall.
    12. collect rusty key.
    13. go back to the level eith control room, but enter the previous room. The one that you previously passed by going to the control room.
    14. use rusty key on the left panel. Collect cipher plate 1.
    15. go to the level below and locate a device on the wall. It’s a transporter, you can use the cipher plate 1 here in two ways. put it to the left slot (which will be later on described as (1, 0) or to the right slot (0, 1).
    16. put the cipher plate 1 to the right slot (0, 1) and hit the button.

    (0,1)

    1. you’re on the ladder. go down. And enter the chamber on the left. Collect cipher plate 2. From now on you can use both cipher plates and their different combinations on that transporter. For your convenience I will describe combinations using numbers, so for example combination (1, 2) means that you have to put plate 1 to the left slot and plate 2 to the right slot.
    2. go back to transporter and enter (2, 0) (explanation: right slot i empty, left slot is occupied by cipher plate 2)

    (2,0)

    1. there are 3 hatches here, you have to set the devices inside them so that everyone is facing right. (the middle one is already on the good position. In this hatch you collect empty coil.
    2. go back to the transporter and enter location (0, 1)

    (0,1)

    1. go to the bottom and right. use the empty coil on the charger and turn the wheel three times. collect coil.
    2. go back to the transporter and enter location (1, 0)

    (1,0)

    1. go down and right and place coil on the pedestal.
    2. go back to the transporter and enter location (0, 2)

    (0,2)

    1. go down and far left. on the way you’ll notice signs on the wall, they will be written down in the notes.
    2. on the far left turn the valve;
    3. go back to the transporter and enter location (2, 0)

    (2,0)

    1. go far left and enter new location through the whole in the wall,
    2. collect wisdom gem 2 there
    3. go back to the transporter and enter location (1, 2)

    (1,2)

    1. now it gets tricky. there are 8 rooms surrounding the central one. go to that room and look through three holes in the walls.
    2. the pointer must meet the ornament on the rim, and you turn the pointers using the valves on the outside. Once you place pointers in the right positions, the block in the middle of the central room will open. collect metal box.
    3. as you leave this room, go through the right door and collect light bulb – it’s the only one not protected by the wires.
    4. go back to the transporter and enter location (2, 1);

    (2,1)

    1. go right and up. set both devices so their lights are on the right side, the crate downstairs will move it’s position.
    2. go right and down the ladder. In the dark room use the light bulb on the lamp next to the ladder.
    3. go left and into the ancient room.
    4. on the wall use previously seen symbols (they’re written down in the notes) and hit the button on the bottom. go down the ladder and use lead casting on the highest pedestal of the anubis statue.
    5. after it’s lifted, collect lead casting from it and repeat that two times until the passage is opened.
    6. go down and collect wisdom gem 3.
    7. go back to the transporter and enter location (1, 0)

    (1,0)

    1. go down and right to the acid bath. Zoom in.
    2. put the metal box into the acid.
    3. once the metal box is destroyed zoom out and use wrench to unscrew the pipe and release the acid.
    4. zoom on the bathtub and collect wisdom gem 2
    5. go back to the transporter and enter location (0, 0) (remove the plate from the transporter so it stays empty, and hit the button.
    6. exit the ROOT location and go back to the modern portal.
    7. enter 7-4-7 there and push the button.

    The Corridor Location

    1. go far right and open the door.
    2. enter the new room and use all wisdom gems on the wall machine.
    3. switch the lever on the control panel and enjoy the ride.
