[REPLAY] Escape Chestnut Room is a new point and click room escape game created by 2keys games, who is also creator of Escape Orange Room, Escape Library, Escape Pink Room, Escape Magenta Room, Escape Green Room, Escape Pear Room, and Escape Ecru Room games. In this game, Rupert has gone on a hunting trip with his friends, but they decided that he was too noisy, and they've locked him in the cabin so they can enjoy their day of hunting. It's the safe behing the hippo picture. Everytime you start the game over you get a different one. So far I haven't got a puzzle like anyone has described here, so I can't figure it out!!!

ReplyDeleteA footprint with five toes on the larger foot (hind foot) and four toes on the front smaller foot with small dots on the ends (connected to the actual toes) belongs to an ARMADILLO.
A print that looks like a hoof, probably like this () belongs to a DEER.
A print with 3 long toes and small claws on the ends belongs to a GROUSE.
If you see prints where the larger one looks almost like a stretched out human hand and the smaller one has only four toes, they belong to a MUSKRAT.
Very long hind feet and small front feet belong to a RABBIT.
The two prints right next to each other that look like really demented paw prints with five toes belong to an OTTER.
Two prints next to each other: if the one on the left is a very long hind foot with five toes and claws on the ends (detached) and the smaller one on the right looks like a left human hand with five fingers and claws on the ends (detached), then these are the prints of a RACCOON.
A large print with five toes and detached claws with a smaller print with five toes and detached claws and a small circular pad below it is a BEAR print.
Very neat-looking prints with four toes and claws that look like they may come from your typical house dog belong to a WOLF.
Prints that look like regular paw prints (four toes and detached claws) but the bottom pads look like this ^ belong to a FOX.
A very large footprint (all in one piece) that greatly resembles the print of a snowshoe hare is that of a YETI.
Those prints that look like human footprints belong to the SCOUT.

ReplyDeleteThe key is used for the safe behind the filing cabinet. Get the animal track numbers from the book from the cabinet. Figure out what track are which animal. Put the number in for the code and use the key.

ReplyDeleteNOTES TO HELP...NOT A FULL WALKTHRU BUT A GUIDE
ReplyDeleteFirst find your chainsaw..get shotgun from deer and shoot the nail above the hippo picture, there is a safe to open make a continuous line on the green tiles. RESET game by clicking the deer antlers down and up.
As you get teeth add them to the chainsaw.
Carrot under foot of hunter in hippo picture, give carrot to rabbit in 'forest reserve' picture for a magnet. Use toilet paper on legs of stork in that picture and use crowbar to make frog jump and push the rod close to the shore. Use rod with magnet to get teeth in toilet bowl.
Use spanner on tree with sleeping rabbit get piece from rabbit mouth. Take apple.
Put paper from door in fire place, grab right log and bounce on left tusk of elephant to make firewood. Light fire with shotgun. Get key and tooth from nostril of elephant.
Tickle hippo belly with toilet brush and clean teeth twice to receive a piece from his hand.
Hit the base of the gun in this picture for another piece.
With bear head up hit teeth with hammer and get nine pieces (count!!) four and five (one hidden under inventory)
Now search for the rest of the teeth
Put log by mouse hole for one, and then do it again with the apple for another.
Check lists for the rest...
Use crowbar on top back of filing cabinet and push it over. To open this safe you need the list from the table with six animals not crossed out and the book of animal tracks. Note the page number on your list of animals. Put these in that order and then zoom out and try the key from the elephant. If it doesnt work you may have a number wrong, so try again. Last piece is in this safe.
Use chainsaw on door to make three words and !....hit again to get out

Love these games. And I'm new to this posting thing. But since I'm playing and using all of you're hints, I think I should share one too...(Don't have one often).Found out that all of the animal tracks are easy to find whit Google picture search....Maybe a good one for future players??

ReplyDelete- Move two screens to the right. Get the gun from around the deer’s neck.
- Move one screen to the left and shoot at the nail on which the hippo picture is hanging. This will reveal a safe.
- Solve the puzzle on the safe to get into the safe. The puzzle varies with each game. Each time you want to reset the puzzle move to one the screen on the right and move the antlers on the deer (on which the gun was initially hanging) down to their lowest position and then back to their original position. (This could take some time to solve. Try drawing the puzzle you have on a piece of paper and try all the different possible ways of solving. This would be a better way of doing it, than going back and resetting the antlers on the deer)
- Get the hammer, spanner, metal crowbar and a chain saw with the missing teeth.
- Start looking for the chainsaw missing teeth.
- The list of the chainsaws teeth (29 in all): (put the teeth on the chainsaw, as soon as you collect them, so as to avoid over cluttering your inventory)
1. In a crack on the front door frame (on the left hand top corner)-1
2. Move one screen to the right of the front door screen. There is one in the plant pot -1
3. Open the top draw of the filling cabinet and retrieve a book with different animal tracks. Save it for later.
4. Open the last draw and retrieve one metal tooth.- 1
5. Move one screen right of the fireplace screen. Find one tooth on a crack on the left of the table-1
6. Find one in the crack, on the middle plank of the table -1
7. Pick up the stuffed sable on the table and open it in the inventory. Click on its mouth to get its 2 teeth, which are actually 2 saw teeth – 2
8. Move one screen to the right, from the table screen. In the toilet screen, pick up the tooth on the right of the sink – 1
9. Pick up the tooth lying next to the toilet -1
10. Open the toilet tank and pick one tooth up -1
11. Click on the ground to the right of the sink. This will give you a new view. Pick up one tooth from there-1
This is as far as the easy to find teeth go. Next we try getting the hard to find teeth (starting from the front door scene):
1. Click on the bear’s face. He lifts up his head. Knock out his teeth with the hammer. These are also the chainsaw teeth. Four teeth fall out on that screen. Make sure you pick up four teeth from the screen with bear on it. One of them may be hidden near the hand on the inventory. This could be hard to see- 4
2. Move to the screen on the left(toilet scene), and pick up 5 more teeth from there, on the ground(these also came from the bear ‘s teeth). – 5
3. When in the toilet screen pick up the toilet brush and the toilet roll.
4. Move back to the front door screen. Click on the picture hanging on the wall. Click on the crane’s raised leg and quickly use the toilet role to tie the crane’s legs together. The crane drops the fishing rod into the water.
5. Then use the crowbar on the frog to push him off the leaf. He will fall into the water and move the fishing rod closer to the bank and then jump back on the leaf. Keep pushing him off the leaf until the fishing rod touches the bank. Then pick up the fishing rod.
6. Move to the next screen on the right (fire place). Click on the picture of the hippo, now lying on the floor (after you shot the nail on which it was hanging). Click on the hippo’s navel. He will open his mouth. Pick up the toilet cleaning brush and brush his teeth, until he picks up one of his feet. There is one saw tooth stuck on it. Take it -1
7. On the same picture, you can see a hunter walking down with his dog. Check the butt end of his gun. There is a tooth sticking to it. Take it – 1
8. Again on the same picture, you can see a patch of grass under the hunter’s outstretched foot; click on it twice to get a carrot.
9. Zoom back into the fireplace scene. Click on the left of the fireplace. You will get a view of the ground on the left of the fire place. There is one tooth there. Pick it up -1
10. Move one screen to the right (table with the fireplace). Click on the picture with the rabbit (showing his middle finger ;) the hunter) and furious hunter. Give the carrot in your inventory to the rabbit. Click on the rabbit’s left hand, and he will give you the magnet he is holding.
11. Combine the magnet with the fishing rod(on the hook). Move one screen right (toilet scene). Open the toilet seat and use the fishing rod to get the metal tooth that falls into the toilet – 1
12. Click on the picture hanging outside the toilet. You can see a rabbit with its ears sticking to the tree. You can see a pair of eyes blinking from inside a hole in the tree. Throw the spanner at the eyes. An apple will be thrown out of the tree. Pick up the apple. The rabbit in the picture starts crying. Look carefully into his mouth. You can see a metal tooth in it. Take the tooth from the rabbit’s mouth. -1
13. Move one scene to the left (table scene). Click on the thick birch wood (stool). It moves into your inventory and a rat hole is revealed. Put the apple in front of the rat hole. Takes the apple and runs back into the hole. After it runs back into the hole a metal tooth appears in the hole appears. Pick it up. Look into the hole, and you can see another tooth in the darkness of the hole. Pick it up.(if you cant reach it, use the crowbar to reach it)- 2
14. Pick up the thinner birch stool and move to the fireplace scene. Put the log on the elephant’s left tusk. It splits into logs which fall into a neat pile in the fireplace. Take the note on the front door and place it on the logs. Shoot the logs to start a fire.
15. Once the fire starts, wait for a minute and click on the tip of the elephant’s trunk. It will raise it. You can retrieve a key and a metal tooth from the raised trunk-1
Final 2 metal teeth:
- In the fire place scene, use the crowbar on the filling cabinet (on the left edge of the cabinet). It falls over to reveal another safe-2
- Go to the scene with the table and retrieve the note from the table. You will find a list of animals (with a few animals crossed out- the animals crossed out are different in each screen). You will have to match the tracks of the non-crossed out animals in the list with their corresponding track marks in the book you retrieved from the filing cabinet, and get the figure number of the matched tracks, in the order they are listed in the note. This is the code for the safe. I have copy pasted Exmortis’s comment below. It is the best guide for the tracks.

- You already have the key to the safe (from the elephant). Enter the correct code and the key to open the safe. Retrieve last metal tooth. You also find handcuffs and a 2 dollar bill, but you don’t use them.
- Now you have all the metal tooth on your chainsaw.
- Move to the front door screen. Use the chainsaw on the door. You have to use the chainsaw on the door 3-4 times, for lines that your saw out on the door:

After this you make a final big hole in the door and leave!!!

ReplyDeleteOne of them falls very close to the inventory (near the hand symbol on the inventory).It can be easily missed. try looking again.

Help! I am stuck after hitting the bear's head with the hammer. This shape stays on the screen, no matter what I do. I cannot get any teeth, cannot move around screens, can only restart. Any solutions? Please?

Write "Here I come" with the chainsaw in the door, than you'II break out.

i bet this is the problem for a lot of you too:
ReplyDeleteafter you knock the bear's teeth out, look for the one in the bottom left corner of the screen, under your inventory. that's the one that i had missed.

So some hints to help complete the game:
ReplyDeleteThe list of animals - used the uncrossed out animals and compare the footprint figure numbers in order downwards on the list to get the code for the second safe.
The key to the second safe is in the elephant's trunk that raises after you start the fire and there's also a piece of the chainsaw in the other nostril.
The crying rabbit has a piece of the chainsaw under his tongue as well - it's hard to see but you should be able to eventually click on it.
There are more than 4 pieces of the chainsaw when from the bears teeth. Some go over to the next screen and there's a piece that falls down to below the Hand icon at the bottom left.
Don't forget the exclamation point at the end of the game.
I found all the metal pieces. :)
