ReplyDeleteit is not one of the riddles you find in "the hobbit", is it?
ReplyDeletedon't know the word 'twee' in english, can someone tell me please what that is?
ReplyDeletefranza, afair it's not a riddle, the english language has several words tht you can slice down letter by letter while still keeping a sensible word

ReplyDelete17, just make letters of number and anagram,
answer is p....l
Help on 14 please
ReplyDeleteif there's a number on the lamp, maybe there's another on the bottle?
ReplyDeleteFranza, yes on the lamp is one number, on the bottle is no number, you have to find SIX numbers,
ReplyDeletemake letters of it
http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/alphanum.htm
I think you already see it than, but you have to anagram it. Use Universal anagram solver.
franza, stick with the 6 numbers, and then anagram them
ReplyDeletecarola: what do we have here? bergmann, loren, hepburn?
hmmm, 18, is another song, and lots of love,
ReplyDeletebut it's already very late here, have to go. Check up tomorrow again, bye, and Rudi thx for all the pushes so far!
rudi, and maybe jane from tarzan?
ReplyDeletecarola: o.k., have a nice one, will stay here for 15 more, have to go to bed then, too.
ReplyDeletefranza: success?
thx carola, I already solved it thanks to your previous post... I'm on 18 now.
ReplyDeleteFive actresses: Ingrid Bergman (one facing left, once right), Elizabeth Taylor, I'm no sure about the one on top right (I can't see her well), and I don't know the bottom left...
oh and the middle is cleopatra of corse,
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Taylor=cleopatra
ReplyDeleteAndie MacDowell? = jane (top right)
the one on the top right could be audrey hepburn
ReplyDeleteI wanted to give a special thanks to makjonbdwy. I had my sound turned off on 14, and had no clue what to do with that one lol!
ReplyDeleteI think jane = Maureen O'Sullivan
ReplyDeleteI thought about Catherine Hepburn for top right, but I can't find the movie or the image on the net
ReplyDeletefranza: you must be right, it's african queen
ReplyDeleteFranza, you're right about top right
ReplyDeletehttp://www.imdb.com/media/rm2745014272/nm0000031
great, now, what about bottom left? Dou you recognize her?
ReplyDeleteSo we have:
ReplyDeleteIngrid Bergman
Catherine Hepburn
Elizabeth Taylor
only missing bottom left
but I really have to go to bed now, have to wake up about 6 hours ;) realy bye now :)
damn, carola, so close and now to bed, but same for me :-)
ReplyDeletehope we'll solve it tomorrow
you from germany, too?
oh no! Everybody is leaving right now? Please, don't leave me alone! Nobody is playing from the other side of the ocean (I live in Mexico)?
ReplyDeleteFor bottom left I thought about Katharine Ross from "the Graduate", but it's not.
I'll never think I am a good fan of old movies anymore!
Rudi, almost, The Netherlands :)
ReplyDeleteThe bottom left is Priscilla Presley
ReplyDelete@franza I'm still here (I'm from the USA), but I don't watch old movies
ReplyDeleteBigRed, you are right! My god, I couldn't recognize her!
ReplyDeleteSo we have:
Ingrid Bergman (Casablanca) - Katherine Hepburn (The queen of Africa)
Liz Taylor (Cleopatra)
Priscilla Presley (her own marriage) - Ingrid Bergman again
....????
Hi KitKatfox! I want to tell you I really appreciate your walkthroughs and hintthroughs!
ReplyDeleteWe got all the actresses (thx again, BigRed!), but now I have no idea about how going further...
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI tried something to do with royalty or queens, but no go...the three actresses all played royalty at some point and Priscilla was married to the king of rock and roll...so maybe something along those lines?
ReplyDeleteYou may have something there, Bigred, but why is Ingrid bergman shown twice, and her photo is from Casablanca and not, for example, from "Sissi"?
ReplyDelete@franza thanks. I enjoy writing the walkthroughs, but I am not very good at riddles. I usually need someone to nudge me in the right direction!
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe their loves since it is a love theme. In the movies, it would be Humphrey Bogart (twice) and Richard Burton. But Elvis would be real life.
The character names, if that sparks anyone's imagination would be Rick Blaine, Charlie Allnut, and Mark Antony
I meant "Anastasia", Sissi was Romy Schneider...
ReplyDeletecan anyone help on level 14 i dont know who the composer is
