New game! Let's give it a whirl

anyone???
I have 2 books, 5 papers, and what looks like a key

hi serran.....still live?

have 5 codes from books

Lots of notes and codes - very lost!

every book has a number on the back.....dont get the symbols

have 7 papers now, and I still don't know what to do with them. I'm guessing that last one that is rolled give the numbers when you use the clues from the other stuff, but I am lost too.

serran.... where u find key?

language barrier for me...

I think it was down stairs

key is under the table down the ladder

7 papers 2 books and a key....

got it thanx

symbols giving me a headache

havent found anything i can use yet

i give...cant wait to see the walkthrough

Arg! I'm getting nowhere with these codes

I opened the wall safe, but I can't figure out how to fix the error. I can't understand step #3 in particular. There might a clue I'm missing? The 2nd word of the last 3 lines of step 3 have no reference for me.

i am gonna give this one a try...

did someone solved this game? my inventory is full, i have 2 books 7 papers and a key. and a lots of numbers and clues but i'm stuck.

not solved yet. but i am not going anywhere until i solve it.
opened the wall safe...

zania how did u open the safe?

use paper in your inventory (with + in it) and the blue book and the hint from the rainbow card(it tells u which numbers to add)

after opening the safe on the wall, the big safe downstairs opens. i think that is the real puzzle to solve since it also refers to the scroll with instructions!

the colours give a hint?could not understand

if ur inventory is full then u should have a paper there that has a rainbow on it. that gives u the order of the colors (red, brown,yellow,..)

now when u open the blue book from ur inventory u see that the first word on the left page refers to the rainbow card. which means the codes on the right page(the ones starting with black dots) are actually the colors.

combine these together. the first one the right page is red , the second is brown and so on.

now take a look at the paper in your inventory with the + on it that u found near the safe.
first line refers to the color red(from the blue book) and the card from ur inverntory that has books on it. this means red books number.
its the same for the second line.
then add the number of the book as the paper says....

your examination is good but couldnt solve it

add the number of the red book and the blue book (the blue book that u found on the table)

and enter it to the safe
red book # 1460
blue book # 1300

thanks Zania, i will try to do what you write.

I have all papers and a key, but just one book (the yellow one), where is the other book (only saw one table and there was a key, but no book) ?

hi @small-tool. happy to see u.
i have blue and yellow books. there was a book behind the table with a lamp on it if i remember correctly.(or something else)

thanks zania it was hard to understand the paper with two books means the number behind the books.ı thought it means add two books or abaut a colour.

i decoded step 5. it refers to the safe downstairs. red should be connected to triangle and green to square.
somewhere in future i will need that!

Thanks Zania, the blue book was indeed (right) behind the desk. And happy to see you too. You're on a roll aren't you?

hoooh, been stuck for about an hour at the same place..... just decoding small things here and there..

step 2: do something with the red something
( turn the light on green something)
does that make sence?

i think step 2 refers to safe downstairs.
step 2. click the red handle (turns on green light)

step 3 is hard . line 1 is as same as first line in step 7
line 2 refers to going to the roof . i interpreted it as which lake as the shape of the orange fruit . 3rd one
line 3. not idea. red sth symbol yellow something. could refer to the bottons on the safe. push yellow button to get the red light???
line 4: ?ß1§$&&%§%$&

Too much of a language problem here I think.
All there is left now (I think) is solving the safe downstairs. And probably with using all the clues together. Or are there other places where we can try to open something with only using some clues?
By the way, now the first safe is open the window downstairs changed (it's night and you can see a mole).

is this an official language????
i thought there where some random symbols which need decoding...

did u solve the code near the door???

Oh yes, forgot about the door code, maybe concentrate on that one first.

Besides all the paper clues, clues everywhere in the building and clues inside the books we have this from the backside of the books;

Books according to the rainbow:
Red book = 1460
Orange/brown = ?
Yellow = 1960
Light green = 520
Dark blue = 1300

Other books:
Dark green = 2580
Light blue = 1950
Black = 1120

And now what papers or other clues and which of these numbers refer to the door panel?

none of these books have a symbol different, and none of items shows a colour.it is hard to solve

dont know if this coincidence or a hint.
look at the painting on the roof on the right side of the book shelve.

u see red green flower. check this out:
green - red = black (the frame of the painting)

now the yellow flower:
(yellow + green )- 2*black = blue

am i going crazy??????

at the lake view, the lowest low of the trees (i think) hint to the small 10 switches on the safe...

the last two symbols on the door 4. and 6. steps ı think and the same under the lamp and shows when it's turned on in the figure

yeah. step 4 is something like: turn on (push) the botton and it changes red, yellow light
step 6 is: turn it off. changes red, yellow botton.

step 3 is undoable. anyone got it yet?

sorry for poor english zania, which button you mean.could use small buttons?2-3-5-8-

This comment has been removed by the author.

the small switches on the safe. there is 10 of them.

ah i am sorry. misunderstood u. which one do u mean?
there are 10 switches on the upper side of the safe and 2 bottons on the left, which when u push the yellow square , red light turns on.

ok i tried 2-3-5-8 it was wrong then added 9 it was wrong too.

@ihsanur, are u talking about the safe on the wall above the red couch or the one downstairs?

you mean open the safe and turn the two yellow lights on,so they wiil become red, after that what must i do

i was trying you turn on the 10 small buttons as shown in the lake trees.

well if the trees are the hint then i see this
U D D U D U U D U U
not be sure though!

nothing happens i tried, but i couldnt do anything with the two square buttons,if you did,can you explain it step by step?

i am where u are. stuck too.

could you understand which language is this,or which alphabet?

i really dont think its a real language.

my brain needs a break. before i go i am gonna write my guesses. maybe they help.

the big safe downstairs.
on the top there are 10 switches. one can number them from 0 to 9
in the middle there are colours which need to get connected to shapes. the hint for the red and green color are in the scroll. red to triangle and greet to square.

my guess is inorder to connect a color ex. red to triangle u have to give the code of the red color (from the red book) to the switches (red:1460, so either these four switches are U or D) and then u turn the plate in the middle and connect it...

i havent had any luck with them so far... : ((

i'll be back later...

Hi all! Im stuck where u are! This "language" is too confusing for me.. but im trying to decode somethin..

oh. 1 more thing.. is it still alive????

whooops live** :D

no one in net could go forward,it is so hard niceli

lol.. ihsanur.. I could notice that...
Well... I give up!..Im going to search for a WT...

plodding along here, sloooowly;
So far, I think the plaque on the wall under the empty space is mainly to give us some vocabulary. Clearly, the picture beside the bookcase originally hung there, so the symbols read:
Red Flower
and
Yellow Flower

Also, I don't know what it means that the wheel inside the safe downstairs will only turn R then L then R then L, etc

Zania come back!
Edgar, Ellie, all you brainiacs!!! Help!

@zoz, u still there?

just clue;
turn R to unlock the center circle, turn L to lock it.
Fortunately the language is similar to English.
It's a good news for you all:)

@Xenon, thanks for the hint. but u are waaaaay ahead of where we are stuck.
how did u decode the 3rd step and all the small switches on the safe?

Hi @Zania and Xenon! I'm back mainly to say I can't get past step three. After that, it looks (relatively!) straightforward as far as turning on two buttons and then setting red to triangle, etc and then turning off two buttons. But step three is killing me!

Hi zoz,
How do you set red to triangle?
The centre piece doesn't move (and I did what xenon said; turn the wheel right and what you said; turning on two buttons)

hi@zoz. my translation of step 3 is so far
1 word: up (turn up or sth)
2. wrod: ?
3.word : the lake hint : the third lake is what the cards says
4.word: down

i meant ; 4. is and 5. is down

Am I even reading this right?
Step 3: Change the order of the switches (to ???) and change the wheel to unlock it, as per Xenon

Step 4: Turn on the two yellow switches

Step 5: move the circle to line up red with triangle, yellow (with star?), (black with circle?) and green with box.

Step 6: turn off the two yellow switches

Xenon, am I at least on the right track?

@small-tool, I only wish I knew, I can't move the circle either
@Zania, obviously I was taking some liberties with the translation!

Step 3 tells you the position of 10 switches.
---
pull-up switches
from left 4th
and last one(?).
pull-down others.
---
just guess words and try:)

You can ignore step1/9.

on step 3, the fourth word starts with the number 4. Is the whole thing a number (ex: 4789)

Thank you @Xenon! I'll give it a try! I do want to say that i would never have gotten this far without Zania's insights earlier in the game!

and you have to unlock the center circle after step4.

TYTYTYYTYTY@Xenon!!!

wow. i love u @Xenon.

How did you figure out it was the last one? Did that word have a reference somewhere?

@Saradin
no reference, of course.
but there is a way to tell the position w/o using number itself.

yay. and out .
i only played one other game this long. 8hours and +

@Xenon. how did u come up with LEFT. i mean starting to count from left cause all the signs (at least to me) indicate that u start to count the switches from right?

Out too, bit same question as Zania. Starting from the right side seems logical!?

@Zania
Look at the explanation of 3 lakes.
You can see the order of 3 lakes.
The last one is apple-shaped.
so the 1st-line must be "from left".

oooooooooooh. my brain just created a new conection between its cells.
thank u Xenon for the explanation.

Oh, thank you so, so, so very much Xenon, now it makes sense.
I said it before and I say it again;
You're a real GENIUS!!!

By the way, this was a really good game wasn't it?

Oh, and of course lots of thanks to you too Zania for the first steps.

@small-tool. 1. i agree Xenon is really a genius
2.this is/was/will be one of the best. the other game i love as much as this one, was the one that was set here as replay last month . the one u spend 3 days to play and write a WT. remember?

3. thank u ; D

Truly a great game, and OF COURSE Xenon is a genius!!!

Zania, I don't recall about writing a walkthrough and I can't imagine I did (that is if you're refering to me);
I don't write that many walkthroughs and surely not for replays (I'm new with posting but I'm playing quite a long time and almost played every escape game there is, so I don't play replays and don't comment on those).
But...
About Xenon being a Genius; can we do something with that? IMHO it's not enough that we just say something here in the comments. Maybe it's something you can do with that zoz. Perhaps something in your new Minoto-walkthrough?

By the way Xenon is more than a genius. He's some kind of a fortune teller as well. He made me rich by predicting the soccer world champion by rolling some magic dice (can't remember on what game, what comment, but somewhere not that far back).

This comment has been removed by the author.

@small-tool. i am pretty sure i was u. it was u and Ellie who played till the end. i cought up 1 or 2 days later and saw ur comments
did u really get rich?

This comment has been removed by the author.

Hey, where is that great prep-through you wrote Zania? It was great, just enough information to let people finish the game without giving away too much informtaion.

By the way it was on 'Maruho Escape from Garden' where Xenon told me who's gonna be the next world champion soccer. But no, I did't get really rich because he his prediction on the Tour the France winner wasn't correct and I did bet on that as well.

Aaaargghhh!! Im totally stuck!!!!! Plz some1 help me!!!!!!!
My safe doesn open anymore! Ive followed the steps and now the red light above it isnt on!
My wall safe was half on 2 and half on 1.. I clicked it back to 1.. and now I dont know what to do!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!

lol the hint is the key! duh!
POP!

@small-tool , i didnt want to scare people off! didnt know u liked the PT. i might have fought myself through and not delete it then. <: (

it was my second x-through and its so wierd to write one. u r just worried that MAYBE u r saying too much or not enough or with too much typos.....i really do sweat when i write one.. huh

oh btw, i checked back at the games i said i thought it was u that played 3 days long to finish it.....
it was ZOZ. and the games was from 2006-'the box'.
just as challenging as this one.

thanks for the motivation @ small-tool!
I humbly submit for your enjoyment:

As usual, @zoz, hilarious, clever !!!!

@small-tool
You bet on the old guy:D Do you know him? haha.
@zoz
I like code and math:)
Pls don't call me when you can't find items. I'm useless for that:)
@lisa
It's my video WT, hehehe.

For those of you who have slow computers and thus don't want to wait for the (excellent) video WT, here is the

Blind Leading the Blind WT
(I actually figured almost none of this out on my own; that credit goes to Zania, small-tool, and most especially Xenon!)

1. Don't be put off or complain about this being in another language. It is, but the language is an invention of the game's creator, so no one else knows it and everyone is at a similar disadvantage.
2. The individual symbols don't correlate with individual letters (at least in English), so you'll have to settle for deciphering the meaning of whole words using various clues.
I can’t reproduce the language using my keyboard, so you’ll need to play along to follow this guidethrough.

Now, for the fun…

FIRST FLOOR
- click on START (lol, sorry, but I felt pretty brain damaged at the end of this and would have needed that clue myself)
- zoom on the keypad by the door. Notice that the code was taped to the wall but has been ripped down, leaving only the first digit, which is 4. Also, the word above the keys is your first introduction to your new language. I assume it means something like “passcode”, but you don’t need to translate it to escape. Also note that there is a light below the keypad that is black, or unlit.
- Back up and zoom on the clock. Notice that parts of some numbers seem to be covered up. Click to get the clue with the rainbow; the word at the bottom translates to “rainbow”.
- Back up and go right, then click on the trash bin. There is nothing in it, but there is a piece of paper sticking out from behind the tv table beside it. Take the piece of paper. The 3 character word at the bottom represents “lake surrounded by trees” ( I think the duck is just there so we know the blue part is water).
- Go right.
- Look at the label on the wall, below where a picture was hung. You’ll translate this later.
- Click on the desk; each book has a symbol and a number on the back cover. The symbol probably means price/ unit of currency. Write down the numbers that correspond to each color.
- Look in the top middle drawer and take the piece of paper. The word on the bottom means “book”.
- Look at the orange desk lamp. When you press the button the light goes on, when the button is raised, it goes off. Now zoom on the writing at the base of the lamp. The word by the depressed button is “on” and the word by the raised button is “off”.
- Zoom behind the desk to the right, and take the blue book.
- Looking inside the book, we see several words highlighted; the word at the top of the left page is the same we saw before, and means “rainbow” (if you slide your cursor over highlighted words, you will be shown where else the word occurs in the game. This is a big help if you don’t write all the symbols down!). Also on this page is the numeral 5.
- On the right page is a list of 5 words. Sliding the cursor over them shows that we’ll see them again, so it would be good to know what they mean. According to the left page, there are five features to this rainbow. The words in the list on the right page correspond to the five colors on the rainbow in the picture: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue.
- Before placing the book in inventory, look on the back and note the price.
- Back up and go right. Time for a change of scene!

Pt 2

SECOND FLOOR
- Go up the ladder and go to the bookcase at the end of the walkway.
- Click on the green book and note the price on the back. Also, notice the piece of paper sticking out from the top of the pages. Take the paper. The word on the bottom means “apple” (or maybe “peach”?)
- Check the prices on the back of the black book and the blue book.
- Take the yellow book and check its price as well. Look inside the yellow book and note the shapes on the right page: the word at the top means “triangle” and the word at the bottom means “rectangle”.
- I’m honestly not sure what the clue on the left page is for; it may be a red herring or it may have a meaning that I missed. Xenon or someone else can probably clear this up.
- Click on the orange box (as far as I know, the word on it means “orange box”) and click on the white square to open it. Take the picture labeled “table”.
- Click on the brown thing to the right of the bookcase. It’s a picture. Remember the spot on the wall on the first floor where there had previously been a picture? And the writing on the label below that space? Well, this was the picture, and the label says
Red Flower
And
Yellow Flower
- The important word to remember here is “and”
- Back up and look over the left railing. There are three lakes surrounded by trees. Zoom on the label on the railing: the words on the left are all the same and mean “lake surrounded by trees”. The last word on the right means “apple”, so the other words on the right, which are different, must refer to the shapes of the lake.
- The word at the top of the page means “from left” since the lakes are listed in order from left to right.
- Back up and look over the right railing if you like; it has no meaning to the game.
- Go back down the ladder, and continue down to reach the …

BASEMENT
- Go straight ahead to the table. Take the key underneath it. It will go into your inventory but you won’t be able to use it just yet.
- Look at the grey box on the wall and slide your cursor over the word at top. You will see that this is the power box for the keypad by the door upstairs on the first floor. The light below that keypad was black, so we need to restore power to it somehow.
- Back up and out of the room, and back up again.
- Looking out the window on the right, you’ll see a cockatiel in the tree. I have no idea what this means!
- Now click on the scroll on the floor in front of the grey box on the floor. This is your instruction manual for how to escape. But, of course, it’s written in a language that you can’t read. Yet!
- Look at Step One: unfortunately the highlighted word is only referenced to its appearance in step 9, which doesn’t really help us.
- Click on the grey box: it’s locked up tight, so go back to the ladder and go up to the…

Pt. 3

FIRST FLOOR
- go right and see the red couch with a safe above it. Zoom on the safe and see that it requires four digits AND there are instructions taped to it.
- Take the instructions. Look at each highlighted word. On the top line we can read “Red book” and on the lower line, after a plus sign, we can read “Blue book” (the hints for this are in the “rainbow” book and the card with the orange book on it). Under this are two words, the second of which means “table”. We found two blue books, one on the bookcase and one on the desk, but none on the table. This clue must refer to the one on the desk (which could also be called a "table"). If the first two words on each line mean “Price of”, then we should add the price of the Red book (1460) to that of the Blue book in our inventory (1300). Enter 2760 into the safe and open it.
- The down arrow is highlighted so press it. The 2 begins to roll towards 1 but it gets stuck and a word appears. It’s the same word that is at the top of the scroll with instructions. But what does it mean?

I’ll wait while you look around to see what has changed…. and when you do, it will be in....

Pt. 4

THE BASEMENT
- Aha! The grey box on the floor in the basement now has a red light on top and the same word from the scroll and the upstairs safe is lit up on the front. I think this word means “power supply” and the scroll gives directions for turning the power on (remember the power lines that run from the grey box on the wall in the next room? One goes to the keypad and the other comes from this power supply).
- (Oddly enough, it is now night through the window on the right and there is a mole with some rocks and I have no idea what this means either!)
- Click the front of the power supply to open the door. Now to read the directions on the scroll.
- Step One is not really important, as we’ve already opened the power supply, but it most likely means “open” since it is also seen in the last step when we’ll want to open the escape door.
- Step Two: “do something” to a red “something”
(on green “something”)
- If we just play around a little, we can figure out that this means
Move the red lever
(turns on green light)
- So move the red lever and turn on the green light!
- Step Three is where most of us ran into trouble, but Xenon came to the rescue (again!) From what we know of the language, we can read the second line as “From the left” followed by a 4 and something else.
- The third line starts with the word “and” (from the sign describing the flower picture) and the last line starts with the word “move” (from the beginning of step 2)
- Once again, Xenon came to our aid and deciphered this clue as
Step 3 tells you the position of 10 switches.
---
pull-up switches
from left 4th
and last one(?).
pull-down others.
-So do as Xenon said and also move the wheel at the lower right to the right (clockwise) to unlock it.
- Step Four we know says to turn on “something” and “something”. Making a guess let’s turn on the top yellow button and the bottom yellow button.
- Step Five is not as complicated as it looks at first:
Red – Triangle
Yellow – “something”
“Something” – “something”
Green – Rectangle
- OK, so we want to align things on the center wheel so the red is connected to the triangle, and the green is connected to the rectangle. I took a guess and figured the word by “yellow” is star and that the third line reads “Black – Circle”. But even if it was the other way around it would have been relatively simple to figure out. So go ahead and rotate that center circle to get everything properly aligned.
- Once you’ve aligned everything, turn the wheel to the left to lock it and turn off the upper and lower yellow buttons (this is Step Six )
- Step Seven: referring to Step 3, the first two words are “flip switches” so the next word must be either “up” or “down”. Trial and error will show it to be “up” so flip all the 10 switches to the Up position.
- Step 8: referring back to step 2 we can conclude this means “move the red lever”.
- When all this is accomplished, leave the power supply. The red light on top is no longer on and the door won’t open anymore. So let’s see what we accomplished by going back to the

Finish

FIRST FLOOR
- Go back to the wall safe and see that the word “power supply” is no longer showing. Press the down arrow to scroll to number 1. (Interestingly, this makes the mole we saw through the downstairs window disappear, leaving only rocks in the dark and I still have no idea what this means!)
- Now go to the keypad by the door and see that the green light is now on!
- But wait, what’s the code for the keypad???
- Take another look at the key at the bottom of your inventory. There are five indentations (just as there are five numbers for the keypad). We know that the first number at the top of the keypad is “4” so we can set the first indentation at the top of the key to “4”. Looking at the size of each indentation that follows, the numbers must be 43251. Go ahead and try that in the keypad. Now click on the arrow at the bottom.
- You’re out! And you’ve joined a pretty small club! Congratulations!

@zoz, its not the first time u take over writing a great WT for an impossibly complicated escape-game.
(just like 'the box').
seriously, this is impressive.

RESPECT.

u r the man.

heeheehee she is the man ;)

hmmm...a game that needed Xenon to help solve it? I don't know if I want to try to tackle this one.

@kitkatfox , i knew someone will say something about 'u r the man'. haha , i knew it.
i was tempted to write 'the validation of it is independent of ur gender', but i let it be....
see, it worked, at least brought u here to play it ,and i can say with some certainty, to read HER great WT!

@Zania It just made me giggle. :D You wrote a lovely compliment to her so I'm sure she will be super pleased. I will warn you, that with a Z name, you have some pretty elite company. I joked about switching to zitzatfox, but we agreed it just didn't have the same ring to it!

I think I had best play this game when I have a bit more time. Or maybe I will just play vicariously by reading all the comments :P

@Zania, I loved your Prep Through, and every bit of it was true. As for "u r the man", even without that Y chromosome for brain power, I knew what you meant!
@kkf, if you can get through this game with no help, you will be the only one other than Xenon!

i understood abaut safe,i could do green to square, etc.i can solve the key but what is wrong, can you explain it with a easy english?

i mean after the safe,ok i must make all the top buttons up,must turn the two yellow buttons off, must unlock the wheel, and the main lever off, where i am wrong?

@ihsanur, you must LOCK the wheel below the main lever, which you can do by turning it left (counterclockwise). Double check to be sure the center circle is still lined up properly (mine moved out of line on my first time through). Then back up and close the door and it should stay closed.

This game improve your survival skill in the country where you don't know its language:D.

The whole building is movable and the exit door is in the air when you start the game.
This language doesn't have an article such as "the" and "a".

As for the left page of yellow book,
"+" is used in "red book + blue book". What is "+"? It's ten, isn't it?:D
You see apples and 4 + 7 = 11.
This clarifies that "+" is the mathematical symbol and the addition is base 10(decimal) and also 0,1,,9 are numbers.
just in my opinion.

You're Out!

@Xenon, I was wondering if we weren't on some sort of huge elevator! That would explain the cockatiel followed by the mole followed by just rocks!

and it makes sense that the + in the yellow book would be there to clarify that it's the mathematical symbol, because the "-" signs in Step Five were hyphens, not minus signs!

thanks again, Master of Escape!

@zoz, I am amazed looking at all of your Throughs for this game (I love the "Call Xenon - Song"!!). You're the best!! I didn't have enough time nor internet-connection to try to finish it yet. I only got to the point when my inventory was filled and I had to start the real challenge :)
I was thinking of not playing it since it would have been most fun doing it live, but now (one of the next days) I defenitely will, just because I want to use your Throughs... Thanks!!

@Ellie, thank you for the kind words. But I was really just reporting what others figured out. As for playing the game live, I'm not sure that any of us who finished it really played it live - so enjoy!

Yes @zoz, I know... but I also know that it takes a lot of time and patience to write it all down in an explainatory walkthrough, and you wrote two - plus a Call Xenon Trough that wasn't figured out by others for sure!
I also know that you have a cast and 106 degrees outside :)
