Etude Escape is another Japanese point and click type room escape game from Robamimi. In this game, you try to escape the game by finding items and solving puzzles to figure out the game. Good luck and have fun! Play This Game
dang...that's hard to explain... Black always has the first move...like it shows in the book. The second black move would be second row first column. The second white is second row last column. The third black is third row last column and the third white first row first column.
Soooo, I need a key , a4 digit code, and I see that the box shelf slides to reveal a door(not done)...but all I have is a car registration that I copied...and lots of clues ...Help? Please?
Will someone post a screenshot of the game with the order of buttons to push. I hate it when I am doing really well, haven't had to peek at comments or anything and I get stopped dead in my tracks by a game....ugh.
any luck with 2 3 3 2 othello code? i can play othello, but i dont understand the code. If we refer to the book, i think we should push the second step..but there are 3 possibilities...
I believe that for the 2nd floor button-pressing puzzle, you would have to press the buttons that correspond with the location of Black's 2nd move, White's third move, Black's 3rd move, and White's 2nd move. Too bad I don't know how to play Othello, or I would show how to do it. Perhaps someone will make a picture of it and share the link... (hint hint)
Hmm. I was a bit disappointed with this one! Robamimi has made so many long, visually stunning and interesting ones, and this one felt kind of unsatisfying and not as pretty as some of the others. I love Robamimi. Maybe they will get back to more beautiful and challenging ones once the summer vacation is over... ;]
In the first scene are shelves in the arrangement of steps. On the shelves is an orange locked box, a pink book (tells you to search the game Othello), 3 sets of flags, and a blue code box. It may be a bit of a pixel hunt, but to the right of the last step are 2 stuck floor panels. On the left of the base of the stairs is a hole.
Moving right is a copier on top of a double cabinet shelf. In the first drawer is a pink check book. Note that under the check book, in the drawer, is a green star. In the second drawer are steps on using the copier. View the pink check book and open it. Note the purple diamond in the top left corner. Click the check pad to make out a check. Open the copier. Put the check in, and close. Push the button to get a copy of the check. Scan the security text and you will find numbers. These go to the blue code box on the stair shelves.
Moving right again is a couch with a table. On the table is a game of Othello. Moving the cushions on the couch, note the blue circle.
Moving right is the door. Move right again to get back to the stair steps. Go to the blue code box and input the code from the copied check spoiler8932spoiler. Take the black crow bar from the box. Go to the right side of the steps, with the floor panels. Use the crow bar on the panels to get an orange key. Use the key on the orange box to get the hand crank. Go the left side of the stairs and put the crank in. The crank code is where the flags are pointing: left, left, right, left, left, right. Doing this moves the shelves out to be used as stairs to the second floor.
On the second floor sits a brown box and a white box on a couch, with a lamp next to it. To open the brown box, you need to know about Othello or, you can use the spoiler george gave from above: 4 x x x 1 x x 2 x x x 3 x x x x This gives you the door key. From this point, you should be able to get out of the house, or you can get the binoculars in the white box. The binoculars, apparently, were disabled form the game. They were meant, probably, to use to see the grey markings on the wall, when looking out from the top step (moving left from the scene with the white box). The white box has 4 colors: blue, purple, green, orange. They refer to the shapes around the house (on the couch, in the checkbook, in the drawer, and one from turning on the lamp next to the couch) spoiler○◊☆♡spoilercirclediamondstarheartspoiler
For some reason the binoculars worked for me. The numbers under the grey blob were - 2332. But I can't find anywhere to use them as the blue code box is not accessible any more.

ReplyDeleteHelp, I'm totally stuck. I can see the letters but can't seem to get them in right order.....

Thanks Blackcat. My numbers were from the top 8923. Can't work out how the order differed.
ReplyDeleteThe order of the numbers comes from the word COPY.
ReplyDelete8 is in place of the C, 9 of the O, etc.
out with George's help with othello. I haven't played that game in years. It would have taken me forever to figure out how to get the board right.
ReplyDeletegreat walkthrough, blackcat.
ReplyDeleteOut on my own :) I used to play Othello a lot as a child.
ReplyDeleteGreat wt @blackcat!
Thanks for the Othello solution, George.
ReplyDeleteThe rules for Othello left in the wikipedia page are too wordy and I don't feel it shows enough examples of what it's talking about.
Your solution showed that I was going to get it wrong anyway. lol
For some reason the binoculars worked for me. The numbers under the grey blob were - 2332. But I can't find anywhere to use them as the blue code box is not accessible any more.
ReplyDeleteHere is a video of the walkthrough to include the correct order of buttons to be pressed for the othello game!
