ReplyDeleteDang. I finally made it across the pond, turned myself into a butterfly, went after the key, and got promptly eaten by the frog. I'd better try this again later when I have more patience.

ReplyDeleteHowever, the controls leave a bit to be desired. There were a few times when my monkey just ignored a vine or when my guy continued to walk without me.
Overall, I liked it a lot.

ReplyDeleteCan't get past the monkey level. My bunny won't hop far enough. But I did find a video walkthrough on Youtube that allowed me to see the end of the game. It is very well done (the game, that is. Don't know if we're allowed to post links to the walkthrough, but you can go to Youtube and search for "illo.wmv".

ReplyDeleteGot past monkeys and poison fruit to the ghosts level but lost interest after the repeated restarts on each level. This could be a great game if it wasn't so difficult.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get past the foxes and rabbits. Couldn't jump high enough or figure out how to go under. Looked at the video just to see the story, saw the big duh with the foxes and that past that it's unlikely I'd finish it. Don't have the reflexes to get past the poison, and Mike W is right about restarting every time.

ReplyDeleteI was going to kill the bunny on the monkey level. Then I learned -- go as far right as possible on the island. Then hit up to jump and then right. If I tried to hit right and up at the same time, darn bunny nosedived. :/
Nice graphics, but this wasn't my favorite game with a top-hatted magician in dreamland. I like the ones where he can change density better.
And why are the poor foxes the bad guys :(
I liked this game a lot! I struggled a long time to make the monkey grab the vines, and to not be eaten as a butterfly, but finally made it! I found it relaxing to play.

The bugs made me quit (jumping or moving even without touching the keyboard). I liked the concept, I liked the game.
ReplyDeleteThe monkey level was difficult and the bugs made it really annoying. When I finally got my bunny almost out of the tunnel, it started jumping around... frustrating !
I couldn't resist and try again :-) Finished !!
