  1. Thanks Edgar, slow brain

    ReplyDelete
  2. got the films , is it an anagram of the nicknames

    ReplyDelete
  3. @Edgar, you mean me and Mr Caesar!
It was the only way I could do it without giving it away.

I must admit, when I eventually got that one it was a truly 'Eureka' moment lol

    ReplyDelete
  4. pfff that was very difficult but I have it, thank you Edgar.
All the others also a big thanks for all the hints

    ReplyDelete
  5. @Jolande, well done :o)

Right, I've been sidetracked with helping, watching TV and a dog who wants to play. Time to knuckle down and finish this thing...

    ReplyDelete
  6. you could have called to mine and walked my dog too rambler

    ReplyDelete
  7. Finally!!! I saw some comments here and on RiddleX referring to #3's "Sir" status and it completely threw me lol. Easy to do. Thanks all! :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. lol bigtank

How are you doing? Actually, with all the distractions I haven't got the second egg yet hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  9. @mkganda, for 16 see lovelygiraffe's tip on the first page, take it slowly and you should eventually get there. It took me about 45 mins !!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thank goodness 16 is easy once you have the first one. Onward...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thanks, Rambler, got it now. Got the first three letters and saw a comment earlier about it being "very pertinent" and was able to figure it out. :D

    ReplyDelete
  12. Good for you, 17 is fun :o)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wahay, I finished :o)

    That's all folks...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Many thanks to all who helped.

I'll stick around for a while...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hi Rambler. Just started and can't get lvl 3. Help?
    Math gives me 1902 (?).

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Jolande, it was another 'Eureka' moment lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Nini, give me a minute and I'll re-visit that scene...

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Nini, no maths required really, look at the picture, it's iconic. Just name the film

    ReplyDelete
  19. 18...I know what the 3rd picture is of (as in location) but, don't know of a movie. Working on it. :D

    ReplyDelete
  20. Rambler the name is The Magnificent Seven and it was made in 1960.

And what do u mean by iconic? Can't guess.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @mkganda, all of these movies have a common link (surprisingly), the third one is the name of the country...

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Nini, look at the cool dude on the bike, it's a still from a movie that the English love

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Nini, if that doesn't help, part of the film title is in the 3rd part of the clue

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sry Rambler... I think my brain isn't yet recovered from New Year party lol.

    ReplyDelete
  25. hehe 18 done and on to 19

    ReplyDelete
  26. What's the problem mkganda?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lvl 8: I'm missing 1 of the numbers (circumnavigation). Help?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Niki I had the same problem, but Wiki helped me
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumnavigation

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Nini, think of Phileas Fogg ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  30. lol Thx Jolande but got it! The movie name isn't exactly that lol.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Didn't refresh the comments. Was in the google vortex working on 19. Don't know why it took me so long lol.
    20!
Thanks for sticking around Rambler! :D

    ReplyDelete
  32. @mkganda, well done. Now the real fun begins :o)

    ReplyDelete
  33. OK.. now on 9. I have the letters : beobcr. But they don't make any word.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Haha, google vortex, I like it, unfortunately there's more to come lol

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Nini, this one took me forever, but it's the words themselves that lead to the title of a very, very famous film.

Clue number 2 was the one that got me there eventually, just say what you see...

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Nini, check. Is it really scene 9 you're on?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oops, scrub my last comment...

    ReplyDelete
  38. well...not really sure what I'm doing on this one lol. Of course...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Lol @mkganda, there are a heap of clue in the thread, have a scroll through. You need two films..

    ReplyDelete
  40. got the top row egg and the bottom row egg, but still..."but there is more"...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Any help on 11? My phrases won't make any plausible anagrams.

    ReplyDelete
  42. What's the significance of the red outline. Honestly when I google c***** c******n I get bombarded with articles about Cher lol. Maybe I'm supposed to, but somehow I doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lie. Know only the 1st one.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @mkganda, you're on the last lap now. Use the film titles in the two grids, ignore the pictures, see them as blanks and enter the letters from the films you found. Then have a good think about the quiz itself and use the 2 'red' letters...

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nini xD is 11 the one with the 3 audio files? If so, I used universal anagram solver and got the first two, but the last one I had to figure on my own, but you can pretty well guess the genre.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks Rambler. That helps a lot actually. working it out...

    ReplyDelete
  47. When you say "about the quiz itself" you are referring to the whole riddle? Got my letters, shouldn't be long now

    ReplyDelete
  48. So.. we have. crime, western and?!

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's a movie quiz and you have 2 letters...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Maybe 3rd is Flipper? lol

    ReplyDelete
  51. @Nini, re-assemble the letters, find 3 movies and google them. Then use the other type of clue to find a common link, surname only....

    ReplyDelete
  52. Rambler. I know only the 1st movie. The others don't make sense when I try to anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  53. THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!! Yay!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hmmm, try here

    http://www.oneacross.com/anagrams/

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yay mkganda \o/, \o/, \o/

    ReplyDelete
  56. @Nini What anagram solver are you using? I got the first two easily by using universal
    http://anagram-solver.utsire.com/

The 3rd took a little bit, but once I honed in on the genre and thought about an icon of that genre I went to that person's IMDB and filmography and found it. Not many with that many f's in it. It took me a little while though.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks, Rambler!!! Super pleased with myself, actually. I haven't caught live games in a long time and there have been a couple of riddles I've missed that I just couldn't finish b/c no one was around so thanks a BUNCH for hanging out! :D

    ReplyDelete
  58. OMG! lvl 11 is killing me!! I get lots of movies when i search the anagramed key words but can't be sure. And the link I'm looking for is the name of a movie or what?

    ReplyDelete
  59. ok... Got pretty sure I got the 1st and 3rd. Now for the second.

  62. Aah! I was too late! Well congrats!
Should I delete that last comment?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Who's the last guy on 12?

    ReplyDelete
  64. lol, I did just that.

Anyway, as I was saying, you're welcome mkganda, I always appreciate help, so if I can give it I will...

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Nini, err, that's Bing's old partner...

    ReplyDelete
  66. LOL!!! I had the same problem and ended up feeling completely ridiculous afterward! I'm sorry to laugh, but my husband and I were so stumped and it's a total facepalmer.

    He was a funny man.

    ReplyDelete
  67. You always help Rambler. :D
I never want to irritate the author by giving away too much, but sometimes you just need that extra nudge. It's just nice that we can go back and delete it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thanks mk

@Nini, just google Bing, there's only one...

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Nini xD
If you don't find it with Bing look up the 1985 Kennedy Center Honorees and he's in there. :)

Again, if that's TMI, I'll scrap it when you have it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Can't find the link b2een. I know that 1st ans 3rd knew each other and 1st had a movie which contained the name of the 2nd.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @Nini, think of origin.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Once you have them all, google them together to find what they have in common. They actually have two things in common which confused me, but you'll find it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Hahaha, level 16 is a nightmare at first look, but have a look back through the posts and you should get it.

I'm off to bed now, good luck with the rest of it....

    ReplyDelete
  74. OMG I'm too slow. I need a spoiler. xD

    ReplyDelete
  75. Good luck Nini. I have to go to bed too. On 16, it's morse code which I'm sure you know, but once you have the first three letters the rest should be easy. Think, movies and 2 6 letter words.

Good night to you both! :D

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm finished! Thanks for the help, all. That was an all day game (during breaks while un-decorating the house from Christmas).

    ReplyDelete
  77. okay, I must be hung over still but I do not get 10 at ALL! lol Anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  78. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Now I'm stuck on 13. I got c*** and then the hint They both have one. but I have no idea what to do with it! ugh! lol

    ReplyDelete
  80. @jillydoc, you've got it! Just make it plural.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Man, that just pisses me off! lol

    ReplyDelete
  82. level 1 is number of dwarfs?

    ReplyDelete
  83. level 2 ben hur participate at how many metre race.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Anyone there? I can't seem to get passed 17. I have the 4 pairs and the trio but that's it. If I try to make letters out of the numbers it doesn't work either. HELP!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Nini you need to count them together
when you done dat is will be easy.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Jolande, but I need to add the numbers or just put them one following another?
I tried both and got nothing.
And what do u mean by "count them together"?

    ReplyDelete
  87. @Nini, add them for each of the groups. 6 numbers... 6 letters to make a word.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ellie but I have only 5 groups. (7 is alone)

    ReplyDelete
  89. LOL I had the right letters the whole time! DUH ME!

    ReplyDelete
  90. So sorry @Nini! I counted wrong lol. Well, you got it anyway :D Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I am completely stuck on 20. I know both films, I got both eggs, I put the letters into the boxes and am left with two initials. Just tell me this. How many letters is the answer? Is it both movies and then two initials? I'm tearing my hair out! lol

    ReplyDelete
  92. @jillydoc, from now on you can do one of two things... try to enter them, or try to google them :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. help on 10 please?? I'm totally stuck

    ReplyDelete
  94. no worries, finally got it!!

    ReplyDelete
  95. OK I'm stupid but I still cannot do the math. I have dalmations, peking, steps, amigos and sister sarah mules but I can't find circumnavigation.

    ReplyDelete
  96. NVM I got it.

I had to search around the world to find it.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I wish someone would play this again I'm stuck on ten and noone bothered to leave a clue for it. I am getting the name of an actress but nothing is working.

So here's a shot in the dark: HELP

    ReplyDelete
  98. im catching up NY...so far it's rather easy or the last riddle smartened me up a bit!

    ReplyDelete
  99. i can't help ny,...I breezed through the first 7 but math, especially square roots, are just not my thing and the hints aren't doing anything.

    ReplyDelete
  100. taking a tutorial on exponential equations! determined to get this but I'll take a hint FOR SURE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I just am not getting this....time to go do some studying that I've been putting off!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Add the top numbers, then divide by the bottom - you'll get a one-digit #. Then multiply that number by itself the number of times in the ( ). You'll get a four digit #. Then google square root of the 4 digit # and that's the answer

    ReplyDelete
  103. For example, if the # was 2 (which it isn't) multiply 2x2x2x2x2x2. Then google the square root of 64...

    ReplyDelete
  104. For #10, think of a famous movie spy who has lots of strangely named girlfriends -gives you an egg

    ReplyDelete
  105. Excellent game - definitely more "my speed" than Alice... Will check back tomorrow if anyone needs help.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Hi Janet! Thanks for the hint...I'm now on lvl 16. This is definitely more 'my speed' than Alice, also, especially without live hints.

I can't possibly do lvl 16 though. I know it's morse code but I can't see it. Have you completed that level yet?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Morning NotYou - yes. But only with help from the past :-). Cover up the bottom flashing half with a piece of paper. Then look at and count the dots/dashes (quick/slower flashes). Write them down. Had to repeat several times.

Then do the bottom half the same way to get the 2nd word. Will say tho, keep in mind the figure it out

    ReplyDelete
  108. Oops lost part of my comment - keep in mind the theme of the puzzle only took me 3 of the top letters to figure it out

    ReplyDelete
  109. Also, if it helps, there are six letters each in the top and bottom words.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thanks Janet...still working on lvl 8,,,still coming up with wrong answer...

    ReplyDelete
  111. omg...i got it. I guess I didn't need it spelled out after all!....:)

    ReplyDelete
  112. 12 is giving me a run...I have the names and googling them isn't giving me the answer i want (or too much information)

    ReplyDelete
  113. Janet, when you visit again can you help me with 17! I am seeing that we need to group these but I don't know some of these characters and who goes where. I am not sure who the trio is.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Hi Tangled, this one gave me a ton of trouble too. You have to match up the movie characters. You'll have four pairs and one triplet. Add the numbers of each pair or the triplet together. Take each resulting sum and find the letter associated with it. Then let "granny" help (anagram it)

p.s. the resulting answer made NO sense to me in context with the pictures but it worked!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  116. One pair is from 1951 film, one from 2001 film, one from 1939 film and I'll be dipped if I know what the "green man" film was - process of elimination put that pair together

    ReplyDelete
  117. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Tangled, oops the trio picture was made in 2000 but the Oscar was awarded in March of 2001 so some sites may have American Beauty as the winner not the movie you're looking for....

    ReplyDelete
  119. And for level 19 - it's the other club in the famous movie not the one that first comes to mind...

    ReplyDelete
  120. Also a quick hint for Number 20 which drove me absolutely crazy.
Both the top row and the bottom row are character names in two specific movies.
Got the bottom one but couldn't get the top. Until I realized that the duck is not a duck but a g.... and the snake is a very specific category of snake (distinguished by the shape of the head)

    ReplyDelete
  121. far out!!! Just read your comments and going back in to begin again. I think the green guy is from the matrix (that was my first guess but not sure its the correct guess)

    ReplyDelete
  122. hmmmm.....I'm seeing lvl 18 and this seems even harder than the one before!!! I noticed some breezed right through it...

    ReplyDelete
  123. Google is your friend - 1st picture is a very sacred chalice, 2nd picture 12 what, 3rd pic where is that city, 4th pic - remember Alice - what character?

Should lead you to one person associated with all 4

    ReplyDelete
  124. wow...I was so close on that one....even saw the name that gave me the egg but didn't enter it in thinking i was way off track...19 is just sitting there....maybe brain drain but I'm not getting a flicker of anything even with your clue........

    ReplyDelete
  125. For 19, those two numbers are latitude/longitude coordinates - google them. Next pic - what type of car is that (besides one we'll never own!). 3rd pic - what suit is that in cards?

    ReplyDelete
  126. :) still stuck on 19...it's killing me that I am just not seeing it...the other ones I hesitated and 2nd guessed myself but this one I have no guesses left......I got the coordinates but it's coming up with a off the map place deep where cats abound and I've got the car and card suit....i come up with nada!

    ReplyDelete
  127. If you google "33.32 latitude, 7.35 longitude", you come up with a city in Africa... where the star crossed lovers Rick and Ilsa reunited.

Best Picture, Director and Screenplay Oscars....(1944)

    ReplyDelete
  128. Once you have the picture, google signor "car's" club in the movie "XXXXXXXXXX" and look at the Sparknotes @ five down from the top. You'll see a two word name - colorful bird

    ReplyDelete
  129. Sorry I can't just "spoil" it for you but Cleo told us not to :-(

    ReplyDelete
  130. even as many hints as needed it is still much more fun to have to work for the answer than to have it just given....I did get the town and I googled car but ....omg! I cannot believe how close I was...when I googled the car w/license I saw that name but I didn't know what I was looking for...I did the movie, obvious stars....I get so so so close to the answer and then ...poof...I go into another direction....ok..on to 20.

    ReplyDelete
  131. On 20 now....reading hints and hoping to get this without more hints but I sure am glad you came back to these......I am so loving these riddles regardless of what they put me through...

    ReplyDelete
  132. I'm all done....the hints in the thread were a great help for 20....thanks Janet!!! Now to go pick another one to anguish over!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Morning Tangled,
Yes - we did it!! So nice to play with you.
Don't know if you ever go into Chat but Jon and small-tool were saying yesterday there will be a lot more riddle games coming soon! Including a Fifty Shades of Small-tool riddle . I'm trying to prepare by starting the small-tool Strife Prequels and then his big huge one so I can see how his brain works ;-)
