yikes - collected a brain at 8 am
Got frog legs, brain, torch, flask, started potion but am missing something. Oh yea, and also have a gargoyle but not sure what I need it for. :(

Put the gargoyle on the fireplace.
put the statue on the right side of chimney to open secret door
Aha, found a bat. Have potion and gargoyle. Stuck at the closed door, though.

Light the fire under it first.

where is the bat?
The bat is in the room with all the yellow candles.
You can see two bats hanging on the wall you can't take, but there's a third bat in the top left and that one you can take.
The bat is in the room to the left of where you find the brain.
WALKTHROUGH
GATE
- GO LEFT (2x).
FROG ON THE WALL
- Take the GARGOYLE (bottom right on the screen).
- GO RIGHT (2x).
GATE
- Click the left cross to opent he gate.
- GO IN, GO LEFT.
FIREPLACE
- Put the gargoyle on the right side of the mantle (a secret hatch in the floor opens).
- GO DOWN.
CELLAR
- Click the book to get a DOOR OPENING SPELL.
- GO DOWN, RIGHT (2x).
SKELETON in the RAIN
- Take the SWORD from the skeleton.
- Go in the open wall, left in the back.
CUPBOARD and BURNING CANDLES
- Take the BRAIN from the yar on the cupboard.
- GO LEFT.
MORE BRUNING CANDLES
- Take the BAT from the top left corner of the screen.
- Take the BOTTLE with ALCOHOL from the corner in the back.
- GO RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, DOWN, LEFT (2x).
FROG ON THE WALL
- Use the sword on the frog to get FROG LEGS.
- GO RIGHT (2x), GO IN, GO UP
END OF THE HALL
- Take the TORCH on the right.
- GO DOWN, LEFT.
FIREPLACE
- Use the torch on the fire and now you have a BURNING TORCH.
- GO RIGHT, UP, LEFT.
CAULDRON
- Use the burning torch under the cauldron to start a fire, put everything except the spell in the cauldron (alcohol, brain, frog legs, bat).
- Take the FLASK from top of the bookcase in the back and use it on/in the cauldron and now you have POTION/POISON.
- GO RIGHT (2x).
CLOSED DOOR
- Use the spell on the door to open it, go in, use the potion on the skeleton to get rid of it, click the book and you're out.
Nice simple game.
