@clee: yeah, once I got the painting off the wall, you're right, the logic of people's clues became clearer. Even so, I still don't think I would have figured much of it out on my own - especially not the clock thing! Even when someone told us what to do I still couldn't do the math right! I hate math, though. Words = friendly. Numbers = ::shiver with dread::
ReplyDeleteDidn't mean to be a big wet blanket above, btw. Just had to vent my frustration with my limitations! :P Miller is obviously an awesome guy who makes really original games, and he's even more awesome to come on here and interact with people as they try to solve them.
psssst! @Tallulah Jean, don't tell anyone this, but I still don't understand the clock/safe thing. And I usually love anything to do with math! I think what we need here is KitKatFox to come along with a WT and explain it all.
ReplyDeleteBut that's all just between you and me, OK?
lol @zoz!
ReplyDeleteFirst, you see some lines on the safe to tell you the order from thin to thick.
These lines are same as the clock arms (pointing at 4,9,7,12).
Now, to make red numbers for these times:
How many different ways can you divide these numbers?
1 can only be divided by 1 = 1(red number)
2 can be divided by 2 and 1 = 2 (red number) etc
The ones we need:
4 can be divided by 4,2 and 1 = 3 different
9 can be divided by 9,3, and 1 = 3 different
7 can be divided by 7 and 1 = 2 different
12 can be divided by 12,6,4,3,2,1 = 6 different
So, our red numbers are: 3326
@incognito, thank you... I would never have guessed this for the clock !
ReplyDeleteI was stuck at the same place as yesterday night when I went to bed. Now, I'm stuck just a little further (-:
I'm out, but this game was very difficult : I didn't find much by myself.

thank you so much @incognito for that excellent explanation! And to @premiere for the great WT and, of course, again @Miller for the great game. Now going to put some dark color on my hair in hopes it will improve my IQ.
ReplyDeleteIf you think like Miller, few do, you have a chance of working this game.. He is probably very smart, but his games are more Mensa inclined and not for the general masses. Puzzles are too obscure and far-fetched to be fun for most.
ReplyDelete@Luin: I completly get your point. It's just that I like playing "difficult" games much more than most of the other games. For me, satisfaction is much bigger when solving something which made me think really hard or having a eureka effect after some teamwork...
ReplyDeleteAnd I assume that the Mensa guys would not even open an application letter from me ;)
and thanks @premiere for another great WT!
i agree Miller. I like the "difficult" games because of the teamwork to solve it.
ReplyDeletend for your game, only logic and teamwork was needed. So from me, a 5 star rating!!
