i thought if 4=1 and 5=0. then 0=5 4=1 bot could not do anthing with ?40
7 i think would be 5+2 which, according to clue is 0+2=2. 1=4 and 5=0. So thought answer may be 240, but that was solution for green hand, so don't know.

cyberjar: yes but it's NOT a bug :) You have to find a light switch (if I remember correctly you even have to go to an adjacent room for that).
Whatever, it always SUCKS if games start with black screen and you have to grope around in the dark to get some light into the matter!

Well, I don't know whether the question has already been answered, but the Roman numeral code (I V X) can be found out using the drawing on the wall:
KEY + BUTTERFLY + CABINET
Key holds a "I" inside, the butterfly (turn lights off) has a "V" on top, and on the cabinet there 's an 'X'.
