  1. @Edgard, tack, now it has all become quite simple, indeed. I was led completely wrong by 1d = 'all' or 'lot' :)

    ReplyDelete
  2. I am still confused on 18...is there anyway to send private messages to someone to show what I have to see if I am on the right track?

    ReplyDelete
  3. @Dee Cee
Check your G+ for a a private message

  4. Anyone have any clue what kind of code is being used on 20? This is just...strange. o_O

    ReplyDelete
  5. I got a hint by using an EXIF viewer, but no idea what to do next...

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm getting no help from the exif... :[

    ReplyDelete
  7. to find out the code on 20, I suggest you do what I did: edit the picture in paint, cut out only one square and make a new picutre of it, then go for google images. You will find the code that way

    ReplyDelete
  8. Finally found similar pics and know the colours now, but stuck again...

    ReplyDelete
  9. I tried that with 3 different squares, and all I got was a bevy of useless images...no website hits whatsoever! D:

To quote Charlie Brown just after missing the football,
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thought the O's might give me sth. in Braille, but doesn't work - I might be overthinking already?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @xaq: try to seach for the first row, that should work as well...

    ReplyDelete
  12. RE: lvl 20
Once you have found the correct code, the next step is to do as the pic name says.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ah, okay, NOW I've got the code....gugh, what a hassle that was to find. :[

Anyway, on to the next step...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ummm...okay, either I reached level 21 and it's not labeled, or I hit an egg.

Either way, I think it's pretty clear what kind of code this is, but when I loaded it into a program designed to read that code, it said it was invalid.

    *scratches head* Huh...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Still no idea after finding the colours...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh...guess checking the SC might have helped.

    ReplyDelete
  17. @sasbabe: The colors aren't as important as the name of the cipher.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I knew, I was overthinking. I did try the name before, but without the middle part...

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think I might be overthinking the egg on 21...I found the cipher for the image that showed up, and the omniglot page on it suggested it can be used for binary.

Did that, converted the result to hex, and got 6 digits...which, since the primary riddle references colors, I converted to RGB color.

I ended up with a shade of lavender (sidenote: "lavender" isn't the answer)...so yeah, like I said, I think I'm overthinking it. *sweatdrop*

  20. @xaq, I posted this before at 10/15/12 8:57 AM:

    "for 20:

24 [colors] from main page, 24 bars in egg (one each [to be combined])
    = 24 characters (letters) total.

Find the correct alphabet (pic name should help)."

You are at the correct place, but looking at the wrong abc.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Now I'm on the real 21, and again as perplexed as can be ;o.
Convert who or what ... maybe some lunch will help

    ReplyDelete
  22. According to the picname and the colours the correct alphabet should be h...!? But then there's something I don't see...
A better match would be c...?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @kenning, idk if you are familiar with this page, but it is often of a big help:
    http://home.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/

@sasbabe, try to google the pic name with the info from source.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Now this looks like what I was searching for - ty Ellie!
(searched like that before - but maybe in pics only *grmpf*)

    ReplyDelete
  25. @kenning: If you convert it right - Ellie posted a good site - you get some letters that might remind you of something!? Google it and you find a cipher for it.
(I had to convert one of the letters into another one to match it, but maybe you'll find an exact decoding table).

  27. Good morning again, everyone.

*checks where he left off with 20, looks at the notes he left himself, and about 6 minutes later...* Ahh, there we go. Off to 21, then! (Good way to start the day, I think.)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Finally finished! Thanks Ellie and Edgar for a great riddle. It was entertaining and challenging with many clever ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Congrats, Donas!

Anyway, think I goofed somewhere on 21...I ran the stuff on the page through the converters Ellie linked to, saw an answer that looked like a (3-letter acronym) sequence, found a decoder for THAT on Purple Hell, ran it...

    And now I've got a handful of complete gobbledegook. O_o;

    ReplyDelete
  30. @xaq, you're walking the right road on 21... except the solver on PH doesn't work. I'm not sure what that solver does, or why it doesn't work.

Anyway, try to google for a translator rather than a decoder.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh, and big Congrats @shahar and Donas for reaching the end!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. OH! Oh yes, much better, thank you Ellie!

...And off to 22, then. Okay...was kinda expecting another egg there, but not gonna complain. Allons-y!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Okay, finished the titular part of the puzzle on 21, got all the names and quotes from it...*scratches head* I'm guessing I need a 6-letter word here, but I'm not seeing how to come up with it.

Anyway, for anyone who gets to that first part and gets stuck: Start at F5, end at E7.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @xaq, I suppose you mean 22? You did the hard part... and are not bad at guessing :) I suggest you use the first things that come into your mind as password.

    ReplyDelete
  35. @xag, same probleme here.
Tried to find anagrams of the initials (first n., surn. and together) no success so far.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Ellie: Err, yeah, 22...sorry, spent so long on 21 yesterday (and started off with it today) that i got confused.

My bad, everyone! Relegate my previous hint to puzzle 22!

Another hint on 22: Apparently who said it isn't as important as what they said...then, it's off to another egg.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, nice figures. Let's see what to do with them...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hm... I assume that the numbers somehow correspond with field on a chess board, but I don't recognize any pattern yet.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Stuck on 20...have done as Shahar said, but still can't find the code. Any other pushes?

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Dee Cee Sent you another PM. Isolating one symbol is the best way to locate what you need. Can also search for this exact phrase "Five simple symbols" (must be in quotes) and look at any images that show up that way too.

    ReplyDelete
  41. ok...got the egg, but now trying to put the egg with colors...really confusing

    ReplyDelete
  42. Level 20
Did you notice the Egg image name? Apply the information learned from the level image to the egg image and find the translation at Omniglot

    ReplyDelete
  43. For lvl 22 egg. There are 64 continous steps on the board. Follow the same path again, that you walked to get the egg. Count, and collect letters where the egg tells you to.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks for the hints on 22, Ellie...on to 23.

    ReplyDelete
  45. And on to 24 now! ...And might I say, ew.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Okay, just looked at the source code on 24 for a clue, and I have one question...

What kind of gobbledegook is that supposed to be?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Umm...never mind. I appear to have found out how to crack that monstrosity out of sheer dumb luck.

    On to 25...somehow. O_o;;;

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh joy, another game I've never been much good at. :[ Found the egg off the hint in the sc, but...yeah, I'm getting nowhere. :[

    ReplyDelete
  49. *backstage cheering up*

    You can do this!! c'mon!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Okay, I was able to do some deductive reasoning, narrowed down the possibilities from a few dozen thousand to about...20?...sorted it out by which ones seemed most likely...wound up being #3 on my list.

So now, on to.......oh bleep. D:

    ReplyDelete
  51. Retracting that bleep, actually...I just had a brainstorm on how to make solving these a lot easier.

*cracks knuckles* Let's see if I can get to 26 before I call it a night.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Totally stuck on 24... Tried to change Url, tried to find anything on the text - found... nothing!?

    ReplyDelete
  53. HA! My method for cracking #25 worked! On to #26! ...tomorrow, anyway.

@sasbabe: If you found the hint in the source code (which is admittedly almost impossible to miss), you just need to decode it.

You might give this site a shot:
    www.decodebase64.com
(yeah, I know, that kinda gives away what code it's in...)

There's an option listed on the site that should help a lot more than anything Purple Hell has available.

Anyway, see you guys tomorrow. I'm out for the night.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @xaq and @sasbabe... my curiosity made me go to www.decodebase64.com, but that page is directed to another page that has nothing to do with solving this.
I suppose the page you found is:
    http://decodebase64.com/

    Great solving in lvl 25!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well, I thought about this code at first, but didn't find anything to decode... I'll have a look again - ty!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Stuck again, 23 this time.
Not sure what to look for on o....... colour of 6 squares in some language? Roman/Latin is no choice...

    ReplyDelete
  57. @Kenning: Its a "constructed language"...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Now in 26, yet no idea what to do - count on thead :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm lagging well behind, but plodding along and am surprised I've got this far :)

I'm on lvl 20. So far I found the first code and got the egg.

Saw Edgar's post re combining 24 from main page with 24 from egg to get 24 letters.

Found a code on omniglot that seemed to work and make perfect sense to me.

    My answer didn't work (:

Am I looking for a 24 ch answer?

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Cee: yep, combine 24 from main with the 24 from egg, convert what you get into 24 ch.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Kenning: also counting...
Just because I'm always looking at the places as well - we are supposed to deal with the date (year) only, right?

    ReplyDelete
  62. @sasbabe Thanks.

Hmmmmm.............that's what I did, and I got a 6 word sentence (24 ch) that made sense and seemed appropriate. I've tried keying it in (no spaces) a number of times - it doesn't work - boo hoo!!

I have no clue what to try next. My poor pea brain hurts :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. @Cee: sorry, the sentence is not the answer - there's still googling needed for the answer!
    SORRY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. @sasbabe Thanks again - knowing that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  65. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Now I get it!

I misunderstood the clues & thought the actual answer had to be 24chs - derrrrrrrrrr!

    ReplyDelete
  67. @sasbabe: Had a great idea for Russell:

    2+ 1+8+ 1+9+5+7+ 7+9 = 49 (as in example)

Doesn't work for Spallanzani, though :(

    ReplyDelete
  68. Just converted sth. that resulted in the word "AAAHAA" *LOL*

    ReplyDelete
  69. For lvl 26, it seems wikipedia contradicts itself. In Italian and Spanish versions Lazzaro Spallanzani gets another number than in the English version.
That example is changed now in source. Please, refresh to see the new person there.

@Kenning, it's interesting that you tried to solve it the way you did, because I know several others that tried similar things. The correct way is somehow simpler than that. Only consider days.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Been banging my head against 26 for a little bit this morning. Thought I had a breakthrough, tried it, realized it didn't work...then realized after refreshing this page from last night that I'd tried the exact same thing Keening did. Guess that method still doesn't work. XP

Well, at any rate, this got my brain jumpstarted for classes this morning. (Who knew riddles and college were such a good combination?) Give this one another crack after lunch. See y'all then!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I am stuck on Level 24. The website Ellie mentioned does not work for me in either IE or Chrome. A big shove would be appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @LinG, maybe this one works for you?
    http://toastedspam.com/decode64.cgi

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thanks Ellie but that website didn't seem to work either. I'd really hate to give up now that the end is in site :-)

    ReplyDelete
  74. @LinG, I'm sorry to hear that! I think you need to install Java for it to work. If that's not the problem, or if you don't wish to install Java, please send a message, using the Contact-form in the riddle-game. That way I will get your address and can send you the picture.

    ReplyDelete
  75. @lvl. 26: way easier *rofl

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh, that part was indeed ridiculously easy.

But now I wonder what to do with those large figures I have...

    ReplyDelete
  77. Thank you Ellie. I finally got the image. My java was up to date but I was highlighting a couple of invalid characters. This riddle is definately expanding my brain... In a good Way! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  78. Had a brainstorm while at class on 26, just wanted to confirm:

    Would Eva Hart = 45?

    ReplyDelete
  79. @xaq: yesss!!!

@Kelling: convert it and go one step further...

    ReplyDelete
  80. Okay, got the figures (with two possible answers on Hell due to something about the year he died...), but I think I might be converting wrong. I wound up with 7 letters, including no or 1 vowel depending on which way I go with Hell...

Either way, I can't form a word out of this. Fairly sure I'm on the wrong track.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Alright - got the first idea of 27, but have to go to bed now. Meet you there tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  82. @xaq: go one step further... and gn8!

    ReplyDelete
  83. ..Yeah, I'm getting nowhere. The only thing I could think of with "go one step further" was to go up one letter in the alphabet with what I'd gotten. That left me with a 7-letter word that, apparently, wasn't the answer. :[

    ReplyDelete
  84. @xaq, leave PH out of this and try http://home.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/

    ReplyDelete
  85. Okay, just to make sure I'm at least on the right track here...

The information I got from solving the puzzle: is that ASCII code, or something else?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yep, insert into dec and pick the text.

    ReplyDelete
  87. *double-checks the results he came up with just in case* ...

    ...

    ...

Okay, so apparently I was off on a few of my results somehow. No wonder I wasn't getting anywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Right then, on to 27 with a huge dose of embarassment. ^_^;

    ReplyDelete
  89. I'm trying to decode the hint Ellie left Donas on page 2:

"you need to convert numbers to c***** and c***** to l*****s."

    ReplyDelete
  90. The hint itself seems clear to me, the way doesn't, yet.

    ReplyDelete
  91. First conversion successful...

    ReplyDelete
  92. kenning convert again then visit the alphabet place

29 been counting but getting gibberish no idea what I'm doing here

    ReplyDelete
  93. For 29, if you know what to use to count, the length matters.

    ReplyDelete
  94. @27, no idea which software to use for the 2nd conversion from c. to l. hexdec. gives no results.

    ReplyDelete
  95. @kenning, omniglot again. Search for c**** a******t.

    ReplyDelete
  96. and finished thanks for the riddle very innovative and thanks to donas for the last levels

    ReplyDelete
  97. Am I supposed to find more than one egg on 28 (a)? Or should the 7 "things" I found there br enough to solve 28b?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Okay, now I -think- I know what the c**** clue was, but...I'm not seeing how those numbers translate into it at all. The example given in the sc isn't making any sense along these lines. D:

    ReplyDelete
  99. Took a break from 27, came back, tried again...

Still not seeing how those numbers translate to the c**** a*******. Are we supposed to be using the same one we used a few puzzles back, or a different one?

    ReplyDelete
  100. @sasbabe, the 7 "things" are enough. Maybe pic-name tells you what to get from them?

@xaq, it's a different one, but from the same site. I told above: @kenning, omniglot again. Search for c**** a******t. Google those words together with the site name and you should find it. Once you have the a******t, you will see what you need to convert the numbers to.

    ReplyDelete
  101. If it's the one that has those two words mashed together as one word for its name, I've been looking at that one since last night trying to piece together how those numbers go together with it. (The one I'm looking at lists the example given in the sc as 175 13 102.)

Either I'm looking in the wrong spot, or I'm just plain not seeing the connection here.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yes @xaq, that's the one!
To get to 175 13 102 etc from the numbers, you need to first go through hex. Try to start here: http://www.mathsisfun.com/binary-decimal-hexadecimal-converter.html
    Then: hex->rgb.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Re@Ellie: Not sure whether we're talking about the same pic - the egg of 28 is solved, I am at 28 b.
So I've got the 7 things wich are in special positions and I thought it would be a great idea to sort the grid of 28b the same way!? But after that I have no clue what to do with the grid or the name of pic 28b. The name could convert it into one single number, but that doesn't help...

However, I think sorting the grid is wrong, because there are 3 more columns/rows!? In that case: Do the things of 28 (a) still matter, or is it just the new pic with the new name?

Sry for that long post ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  104. ...Oh. Okay. Yeah, now I see where I'm going.

*stops banging head against wall* Thanks Ellie. I had the idea that I had to convert to hex first, but I was trying the converter you posted earlier...apparently text converts to hex differently than decimal does.

    Heh, -whoops.-

    Anyway, back to solving.

    ReplyDelete
  105. ...And after all that, #27 falls in a flash. Wow I feel ridiculous now.

    Anyway, on to 28.

    ReplyDelete
  106. @xaq, yay!!

@sasbabe, sorry, I didn't understand where you were.
The 7 colored things from 28a matters in the 28b grid. Use them with what you get from pic name (3 3 20 12 4 - basic conversion - google if you dont recognize it).

    ReplyDelete
  107. Thanks for the clues to sasbabe, Ellie. On to 29! :D

    ReplyDelete
  108. ...Okay, 29 is officially intimidating me. O_o;

    ReplyDelete
  109. Okay, I'm lost again... I don't recognize the kind of code used in 29 at all. (Which makes the hint in the sc a bit unusable at the moment, I guess.)

    ReplyDelete
  110. Could I get a nudge on 25.

    ReplyDelete
  111. @LinG: If you haven't found the egg yet, check the source code. What's it say you need?

    ReplyDelete
  112. OMG! I was looking for something way more obscure. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  113. Glad I could help.

Now then...any chance someone can give me a nudge on 29? I still haven't gotten anywhere on it...

    ReplyDelete
  114. RE: lvl 29
Pic name suggests a visit to the past...

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yeah, my first impression was to try the same trick I did with 24, but apparently that stuff in the image has a few symbols in it that don't work for that cipher.

Been trying to think of what else I could do, with no success.

    ReplyDelete
  116. @xaq, have you kept a record of previous answers?

    ReplyDelete
  117. ty Ellie, was completely overthinking - 29 now ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  118. Edgar: Unfortunately, no.

    ...

Aww crap, I'm gonna have to play through everything again, aren't I? D:

    ReplyDelete
  119. @xaq, no if you can just go back in your browser. If not, it might be possible your caché remembers the entries in the answer box.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Backing up wasn't an option (I accidentally closed things out on level 18 the other day), but you were right about the cache..I was able to go through all the levels again in about 4 minutes.

Now to see if I can figure out what to do with this list of words.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Okay, this is too funny...on a hunch I tried punching in a URL to another frame that went along the same lines as the answers to levels 10 and 18, and got a rather funny egg telling me not to cheat...

And typing this out struck me with an idea!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Okay, idea I had earlier apparently isn't panning out; anagramming the first letter from each answer up to this level (minus the ones mentioned in the sc) didn't bring up anything. :[

Does that spiral of jumbled code in the image have any meaning, or am I just chasing a red herring there?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Characters in the spiral do have a meaning.
Do not pick anything from the answers, but walk the spiral according to them.

    ReplyDelete
  124. AH, now I see it! Thanks Edgar! (Can't believe I was that close with that random guess, though...)

    Anyway, on to 30!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Taking a guess on 30's gimmick...is it themed on a particular old Windows game?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Well, apparently my guess was wrong...a few things on it would have made that impossible anyway.

*scratches head* Another tricky one, it seems.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Well, once again...I'm stumped. Man, you two did a really good job on this...

    ReplyDelete
  128. lol @xaq! The clue to the first egg in lvl 30 is in plain sight! You will know once you see it. Keep staring at the grid...

    ReplyDelete
  129. Only thing jumping out at me is that a couple of the numbers repeated. :[

    ReplyDelete
  130. Focus on letters instead... and read!

    ReplyDelete
  131. Should I be reading in a straight line? A diagonal? Something else entirely?

Seriously, I'm just seeing a huge mess of letters with a few numbers scattered around in them. Nothing's clicking so far. :[

    ReplyDelete
  132. NEVER MIND, FOUND IT.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Boy, you weren't kidding about it being in plain sight...okay, now to try and crack the (first?) egg.

Not quite getting the clue in the sc...

    ReplyDelete
  134. Huh. I tried something on a hunch and wound up with a movie title. Interesting.

Not getting much of anything from it, but interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  135. @xaq, you are doing great!
Now, the egg you have is a 2-way treat...

    ReplyDelete
  136. Yeah, I apparently already found one of the two, as I mentioned. I'm trying to suss out the other...does it involve the grid as well?

    ReplyDelete
  137. Not this time. Grid has served its purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  138. btw xaq, the path you've found has proved to be the more obscure one, so it should be easy to get the other part of the final clue.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Figures. The obscure complex stuff seems to pop out at me no prob, but the obvious stuff slips right under my radar.

I imagine I'm doing more than just some basic math with this, yes?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Correct. After math, give one more step ahead...

    ReplyDelete
  141. Alright. Well, I'll have to pick this up in the morning. I'm zonked.

    G'night.

    ReplyDelete
  142. @28,

28a with the seven c........ I can see cLearly, but 28b?
No idea how to get there

    ReplyDelete
  143. I'm with Kenning. No idea on 28b.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Kenning & LinG,

Ellie's comment @10/19/12 6:23 PM can help you both a lot. Post for extra help if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  145. @Kenning & LinG: Try a letter-number conversion on the filename of the image. You should wind up with with 5 letters; Google those.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Thank you Edgar and xaq. I was half way there, I just didn't apply it correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Still not getting anywhere with the egg on 30...does the colon still have any importance for the answer I'm trying to find, or was that just for the one I already found?

    @LinG: Glad I could help.

    ReplyDelete
  148. @xaq, from Wiki:

"In many non-Anglophone countries, the colon is used as a division sign: “a divided by b” is written as a : b"

    ReplyDelete
  149. Yeah, I was thinking that, just wanted to confirm. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  150. OH! I see what I was doing wrong now! My math was a bit off.

Okay, now I've got a 5-letter word (which took me to another egg!) and a movie title. ...I think I see where to go with this.

  152. YES!! Got it! :D

Alright, onto the grand finale! *sees level 31*

    ...

    ...

    what.

    ReplyDelete
  153. common xaq - nice colours waiting at 31 ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  154. I don't even know where to start with this. O_o;

    ReplyDelete
  155. I think I know the code - but can't see the "pattern" for the source hint!?

    ReplyDelete
  156. I've got no idea even on the code...is it one of the ones mentioned on Purple Hell?

    ReplyDelete
  157. POP - let's see if this works...

    ReplyDelete
  158. When my guess is right, then it is on PH - one of the most common things...

    ReplyDelete
  159. still @28:

As far as I understand, my problem is that I'm still missing '28b'.
I have lv. 28 ('The W....') LLeading me to 28a (7 things). Is there supposed to be third page belonging to 28? If so, what am I to get there?

    ReplyDelete
  160. @Kenning: You should have a 9x9 grid filled with letters - use the name pic (sry - don't remember which pic exactly) to get this egg! And then use "3 3 ..." from source on this grid.

    ReplyDelete
  161. @Kenning: Check the post I made at 11:04.

    ReplyDelete
  162. On a hunch, I tried comparing the image on 31 to the c****A******* cipher on Omniglot.

Now I have a completely random and nonsensical collection of letters...am I going the wrong way?

    ReplyDelete
  163. I must be blind - no letters, no grid.

    Got two pages:

    1. Solving lv. 27 leads to "Level 28 - The W....", containing a m.. of the w...
    name of the pic: 'w...'

    2. L-link gets me to the same m.. with seven c........ coloured green
    name of the pic 'p.....'

Could you please tell me how to get to this 9x9 grid? Thanks a lot...

    ReplyDelete
  164. @xag, thanks for your help, but I have no filename having numbers to convert, only pic 'w...' and pic 'p.....'

    ReplyDelete
  165. @Kenning: OH! Sorry, thought you were at the next step!

For the step you're at, you need to look at each green spot's c*****l c**y.

    ReplyDelete
  166. @Kenning: pic "p....." - what kind of p's could you look for (given what you've got so far)?

    ReplyDelete
  167. Heavens, the cc of N is NOT L. *argh*
Thank you for reminding to re-check. Had checked the ccs already two days ago but granmaa had given me nothing because of that one wrong letter...

    ReplyDelete
  168. @xaq: I thought about that alphabet as well, but to me the colours are too different. I think it's the ciffer with these outlines... But stuck there with 17 numbers and something i can't get to work. So either I'm completely wrong or very close!?

  170. *tries to check PH to see what cipher sasbabe's talking about* Aww man, PH went over their bandwidth! D:

    ReplyDelete
  171. @xaq, this cipher can easily be found on other places, for example http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/
@sasbabe, you are right, it's a very common one.
Try to separate colors, and look at rows.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Okay, that helps a bunch.

Quick question: Do we also need to separate by shape?

    ReplyDelete
  173. It's the shapes what you need, one color at a time.

As for the (very common) code, old Sammy knows...

    ReplyDelete
  174. Ummm...yeah, that didn't clarify anything for me, Edgar. The only guys named Sammy I'm familiar with are musicians.

Anyway, I've got all the colors separated and marked which shapes they were found in...I guess without the right code to decode this, though, I'm not gonna be making any sense of it.

    ReplyDelete
  175. ...Actually, never mind, I think I just saw something after remembering a less musically-inclined Sammy.

    *facepalms*

    ReplyDelete
  176. On level 30 I have the first egg. I have the movie title but I can not see how the math solution can convert into letters.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Okay, I somehow managed to make a word out of the first row, so I think I'm on the right track...

    ReplyDelete
  178. @LinG: You followed the order of operations, right? If you did, you should end up with a number that you can use the old #-A conversion on.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Got egged, backed up, tried again...

    VICTORY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  180. I have done the math several times including cutting and pasting and I come up with a ratio with a 6 and a 9 digit number. If I divide it, I have a decimal starting with zeros. What am I doing wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  181. @LinG: Are you multiplying the stuff to the right of the colon together first? If so, that's probably where you're screwing up. (Same mistake I was making.)

    ReplyDelete
  182. Oh @##&*! I have it now! I'm back on track. Thanks again, xaq and congratulations on your Victory.

    ReplyDelete
  183. You're welcome, and thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  184. BIG Congrats @xaq!! Hopefully Kenning, sasbabe & LinG will join at the end soon as well :)

This is a very challenging riddle, we the authors have been told by the best players nowadays, perfect for the experienced riddler, yet way hard for the starter one... and still you have managed to make it through until the end of the journey. It has been very exciting and thrilling for us to follow you in your struggle, to look at you all finding a way forward from where many have "thrown in the towel."

We have decided to extend the Hall of Fame... to make room to all of you. You truly deserve it.

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  185. Heh, I'll be honest, I was seriously considering bombing out around 27 for a while...that one had me going nuts!

Thanks for your help on getting through it, everyone.

    ...

Now I kinda want to start it all over again and see if I can remember how to get all the answers on my own. XD

    ReplyDelete
  186. I need a little more help on 12... I know what to do, but i think my 5th and 6th one are incorrect. Is it date they were released to the public?

    ReplyDelete
  187. @AlpacaKay, yes. Release dates, please.
Careful on 6th, since film was based on a play.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Thanks Edgar, something is still off with my answers. It is granmaa, correct? because my chosen letters won't make any words. I'll keep double checkin my answers

    ReplyDelete
  189. Feel free to mail what you've got...

    ReplyDelete
  190. On level 31, are "mixed" colours, such as green, treated as an seperate colour or as yellow and blue. My first attempt resulted in way too many vowels.

    ReplyDelete
  191. @LinG, each color in lvl 31 is a separate color. Separate them all, in rows. Maybe you forgot some part of some color if you couldn't make words?

  193. @30, found a clue in the grid, yet no numbers coming to mind about the day mentioned (v...?) lead anywhere. What am I missing?

    ReplyDelete
  194. Good to know I was on the right track ... finally found the end - Ty Ellie and Edgar for this journey ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  195. Well, I still haven't solved 31. I thought it was M***e. Also, there seems to be a very dark blue that is that I easily mix up with the black. Can a specific colour on one line translate into two letters?
