    ReplyDelete
  2. Hi S-T - we meet again :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh my, I'm stuck on level 1.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Something tells me today's prequel is going to be harder, also stuck on level 1. I suspect the hint is to use roman numerals, but so far it isn't helping me.

    ReplyDelete
  5. for level 1, every card has a suit :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. stuck on lvl 1 too
    hints please

    ReplyDelete
  7. LOL - I have no idea how to interpret that @Donas

    ReplyDelete
  8. I knew S-T was just toying with us in the first 2 prequels :P

    ReplyDelete
  9. going in now (I'm a glutton for punishment :/ )

    ReplyDelete
  10. for level 1, four of clubs is B

    ReplyDelete
  11. level 1
hearts clubs etc use one with the other

    ReplyDelete
  12. Thanks @Donas! Had to guess letter from the odd card
    Lvl 2 now

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm in and got the first level :D

    Staring at some animals now.

    Hi fellow riddlers...

    ReplyDelete
  14. lvl 2 was easy.
on to lvl 3. Do I have to read numbers there? hard to see

    ReplyDelete
  15. arrgh! already stuck on level 1. Something about that Italian flag throws me off.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Can someone explain why the 4 of clubs = B?

    ReplyDelete
  17. @annaby, look at what you've written lol

    ReplyDelete
  18. on level one you just use the 'rome' hint on that particular card. For the rest just pick letters like Donas said. You get 3 words

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hello everybody. One more nightmare for me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Any help on lvl 3? I really can't read what's in there. Don't even know if it's letters or numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I told you, every next day a bit harder. :P
Nevertheless, Good luck and have fun and help each other big time.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Rambler's hint with annaby's question was the key for me!

    ReplyDelete
  23. for level 3, you need letters, the title is important

    ReplyDelete
  24. ok...so overlaping letters
    i see something like SUSSFLESS N P

    ReplyDelete
  25. hey! joining right now. thanks small-tool!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Staring at two trying to have an aha moment. Any clues?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Finally saw lvl 3 :) onto 4

    ReplyDelete
  28. Now I can't see level 2!

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is like Wheel Of Fortune... got any Bs?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Luke, try to see the long and short of it

    ReplyDelete
  31. @luke see first letter of each animal and then you'll understand how to apply the pic

    ReplyDelete
  32. lol, lvl 4 is quite funny.
speak out loud and don't forget about singular and plural.

    ReplyDelete
  33. oh, man, level 3 was too clever! Think movie titles...

    ReplyDelete
  34. ok, i think i see the first word on lvl 3. But still don't get the answer
what about those letters at the end that looks like N P?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Can't believe I did 4 & 5 fairly quickly. I'm sure it won't be long before I come to a grinding halt :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh 2 is great! Look at the initial letters of each animal for a clue to where to look for the answer. Then look at the shape each picture makes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Your hint helped me @zoz
    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Morgana, so glad I could help! For level 4 I had to use Google.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Morgana Queiroz: in lvl 3 there are two words and the last word only has 2 letters.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Zoran, Donas 727 told us the first letter is B. Now think about "4" in relations to "clubs"

    ReplyDelete
  41. Zoran,
Card suits are named Clubs, Spades, Hearts and Diamonds. NOw pick letters.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Zoran: focus on the symbols and combine them with the number

    ReplyDelete
  43. Zoran - think how we describe cards - for instance 7 of diamonds would be 'd' - then make words.

    ReplyDelete
  44. hmm, i think i have the missing letters for lvl 7, but they don't make any sense to me...

    ReplyDelete
  45. Got lvl 4 thanks to @Casual hint
lvl 5 was easy, lvl 6 too
    stuck on 7

    ReplyDelete
  46. For level 3, the letters in the left box are too close together, or to put it another way, thelettersintheleftboxaretooclosetogether. If the answer is unfamiliar, google it for the 'where'.

    ReplyDelete
  47. POP! level is almost the same as level 1. just use the correct word

    ReplyDelete
  48. Righto, got to level 6 and need to eat, back soon...

    ReplyDelete
  49. any idea for lvl 8? i think i can identify the first 5 (brown) letters and guessed the last one.
and it says "start with AN alphabet" not "THE" which is more common, right?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks for a great game! the last level is tricky!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I can't see any picture on level 2???

    ReplyDelete
  52. For level 8 no need to guess the top part.
RedLuth is a great riddle site:

    http://luthorien.altervista.org/Tools/alphabets.htm

    ReplyDelete
  53. Casual, once you have read the brown letters, google to find the others

    ReplyDelete
  54. you must be kidding! there is a beard alphabet????

    ReplyDelete
  55. Try to refresh EnJoy
    or try this:

    http://imageprocessor.websimages.com/width/484/crop/0,0,484x338/ssprequel3.webs.com/Riddle%203%20Level%202.JPG

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have refreshed many times small-tool. Tried FF and Safari. your link above didn't give me any image. "cannot display because it contains errors"

    ReplyDelete
  57. @EnJoy: i can open the pic.
    try this link: http://s1.directupload.net/images/140122/jevsdjju.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  58. Saw the clue on 8 and have googled - lost of interesting stuff, got completely sidetracked for a while :), but still no further along getting to the answer (:

    ReplyDelete
  59. Try this EnJoy:

    http://i.imgur.com/525qEuK.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't have an image for level 5

    ReplyDelete
  61. Stuck on 9. Got the first part but having trouble making "the answer twice as big as I think."

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sorry guys, sometimes FreeWebs acts up a bit. When no pic try to refresh with ctrl F5.

    Anyway pic for level 5:

    http://i.imgur.com/ixwrb52.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  63. CeeBee, try googling what you translated with alphabet or guide

    ReplyDelete
  64. Full of food now lol

Got up to level 9 but the pic won't load :(

Tried it from the source too...

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Cee Bee; did you already use the alphabet small-tool showed? google this word with beards and you see which beards belongs to who.
i don't have the full answer yet, but the first 5 letters already make a word...

    ReplyDelete
  66. thanks S-T - ctrl F5 worked :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. oh no! level 9 is either about chemistry or menstruation. i don't understand both... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Rambler,
    Pic level 9:

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yay, well done Szarra, congrats :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Can I get the image for level 6? Refreshing didn't work this time

    ReplyDelete
  71. thanks small-tool. your second link gave me the picture

    ReplyDelete
  72. I can't see any picture on level 7

    ReplyDelete
  73. Level 6 pic:

    http://i.imgur.com/QkVu3RH.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  74. NVM, I put the url into google images which worked. Translated it into a statement and working on it.
@s-t, there are two letters I need to work with? The last two?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Level 7 pic:

    http://i.imgur.com/sQ1lpvj.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh no! no picture on level 3 either. I may go switch to my desk top and try chrome or IE

    ReplyDelete
  77. Level 3 pic:

    http://i.imgur.com/LzYLAp1.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  78. @EnJoy: this problem has nothing to do with the computer (or browser) you are using.

    ReplyDelete
  79. aah.........thanks Casual & Donas. I was only using one word DUH!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Rambler, there are two numbers you need to work with, work with them in two ways ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. the last answer is? THE LAST ANSWER IS??? i thought i had it, but then....thats NOT cool small-tool :p

    ReplyDelete
  82. Got it!

Thanks for the riddle s-t, and thanks for the help :D

    ReplyDelete
  83. Oh thanks Casual. don't know much about computers etc...

no picture on 4 either small-tool

    ReplyDelete
  84. See you all on the fourth one :D

    ReplyDelete
  85. on 9, the first part is easy enough, but the answer? Not there yet!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Pic level 4:

    http://i.imgur.com/2JpJxKR.jpg

    Congrats Rambler, well done :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hi! I take an hour to level 3 I cannot see the letters, only four,I see double haha

    ReplyDelete
  88. holy sh*t. the guy looks like joker on god knows what kind of drugs.

thanks small-tool! looking forward to tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Lol, yep he does Casual :)
Congrats on finishing, well done :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. wow, got through it all! That last one was very tricky, having to approach the answer using two different methods combined.

I also thought that the Beard Alphabet was esoteric, to say the least.

    Another great prequel @s-t!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yay, congrats Zoz, well done :)

    Pichi, it starts with SLEE

    ReplyDelete
  92. @pichi: there are 2 words and 1 punctuation mark. the first word has 9 letters and the second word 2 letters.
    don't forget the title.

    ReplyDelete
  93. lol, that video makes me think of the song you once brought up, @Small Tool: They're Coming To Take Me Away (Ha ha, hee hee, ho ho)

    ReplyDelete
  94. lvl 8 picture pleaseeeeee

    ReplyDelete
  95. Pic level 8:

    http://i.imgur.com/1uGv521.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  96. Still getting nowhere on the last answer...

    ReplyDelete
  97. can someone give me a hint on level 7? I think I am suppose to pick letters but from what word? "letterbeads?"

    ReplyDelete
  98. Okay I've translated the flags in level 6 but.. apparently that word isn't the answer?

    ReplyDelete
  99. level 6 is the translation of the flags

    ReplyDelete
  100. I thought the flags did give the answer for 6 fdbbd - have you checked the word?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Been trying.. also keep trying to re-translate but coming up the same.
    Guess I'll try again...

    ReplyDelete
  102. @Enjoy: Pick the letters from the full words of the text above the answer box.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Enjoy, there was a good hint earlier about level seven being similar to level one.

    ReplyDelete
  104. fdbbd - what do people use on dry lawns?

    ReplyDelete
  105. I still can't make the last part of 9 twice as big - phooey!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Enjoy, its a 5 letter word, one letter from each word above the answer box.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Phooey from me too Cee Bee! What IS it?!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Level 9 - its as easy as ABC to use the numbers a different way.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Ah there we go! I was forgetting a letter (second to last) so it still made a word and I didn't notice...

    ReplyDelete
  110. for level 9, use a basic method and combine it with using the table

    ReplyDelete
  111. thanks for the help got 7.

    ReplyDelete
  112. @Clodagh: LOL!! Misery loves company..........LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  113. I don't get level 9
the last part, do i use elements again? i don't understand the 'twice as big' hint

    ReplyDelete
  114. Sorry, but I am Brazilian and I have great difficulty to understand what you are saying. I understood nothing in níevl 1. Can anyone help? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Finally!!!...........Thanks Donas

Great Riddle as always S-T. I'll miss the posting time tomorrow, but will play when I get back. I'm looking forward to a brain-challenged weekend :P

    ReplyDelete
  116. For level 9,
Donas and c0fe7758-7e30-11e3-b451-000f20980440 gave some very good hints!!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. if i convert 8 15 to letters i get 'ho'. That's an element. then what?

    ReplyDelete
  118. @Morgana: your first part is correct. now check the numbers like you did before and add those two letters

    ReplyDelete
  119. @Morgana: Do what Donas said and combine it with what you get from the table

    ReplyDelete
  120. level 8 - Am I supposed to make a word out of the guys names?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Your clue helped me Casual, and Morgana's query. Thanks to you both! Out now, dum-de-dum!

    ReplyDelete
  122. @annaby: yes, 1st letters

    ReplyDelete
  123. In lvl 4
I can not find the song,I name all of the image, but my google is unresponsive

    ReplyDelete
  124. oh dear - all I have is consonants!

    ReplyDelete
  125. if anyone needs help with 8 - this picture might help

    http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1805121/808457536.png

    ReplyDelete
  126. @pichi: add "song" or "lyrics" to your query. it should work then

    ReplyDelete
  127. Bee Ceeing you tomorrow! (Oh dear, can't think straight any more...).

    ReplyDelete
  128. annaby, it is not the guy's names, but each beard has a nickname.

    ReplyDelete
  129. That's the picture I'm looking at @EnJoy, but I can't make a word out of their names

    ReplyDelete
  130. but the nicknames all start with consonants - what should I be picking?

    ReplyDelete
  131. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Finally done! Thanks for all the hints

    ReplyDelete
  133. oh - I got a pic wrong - think I have it now

    ReplyDelete
  134. @annaby: there should be 2 vowels

    ReplyDelete
  135. Casual I do that but I can not find it

    ReplyDelete
  136. LOL - I always get stuck on the ones everyone else thinks is easy. I'm afraid that obscure Dutch bands are not my forte.

Having to trawl through the comments to find the pictures isn't making it any easier. If someone would be kind enough to post all of the pictures for the levels in one place, I would be so grateful.

    ReplyDelete
  137. @rsa momma cyndi: I just ctrl+F to find things easier. As for the dutch band, figure out what the picture says and google that with "dutch band" which is what I did.

    ReplyDelete
  138. for level 4, the rebus gives the name of the song, you need the Dutch band

    ReplyDelete
  139. level 3: speak out loud what you see (how's four sail) and think of other words that sound the same but are written different.
for example: 2 = two (written) = to (spoken)

    ReplyDelete
  140. I am really struggling with 9. I have read all the hints above and have nothing but 8 15 = Ho which is 67 on periodic table.
90e= ninety is thorium on periodic table but what is the "e"? (fifth letter of the alphabet?)... am I at all on the right track?

    ReplyDelete
  141. going to go do some work and take a fresh look at 9 later. Help! :)

    ReplyDelete
  142. @EnJoy - use a periodic table by atomic number. So the first is 90 - symbol for that element is th, add an e. Do that for the rest of the boxes. That will get you partway there. I still don't have the final answer

    ReplyDelete
  143. 8 and 15 are in the periodic table too :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. Usually numbers translate into letters - use 8 and 15 that way too, and add to the letters you got for them using the periodic table.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Finally done. Is it getting harder or is the cold weather affecting my brain. Perhaps both!!!

    ReplyDelete
  146. fdbbd.
Thanks. Got a lightbulb moment about a song I never knew existed but finding the obscure band was a bit of a google nightmare as I really don't want to purchase property at the moment :)

I have ctr-F5'd my poor laptop into submission but it does nothing at all to help and neither does refreshing in IE, Chrome or Firefox.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Back tomorrow, please leave good clues :)

    ReplyDelete
  148. LOL - left for a while and when I came back I realized I had the answer for 9 all the time :D

thanks S-T - see you tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  149. Thank you small-tool !!it was great !!!!
after lvl 1 that was smt!!!LOL i thought i could never finish ,but i did !!!
    and thank you Jon !

    ReplyDelete
  150. and thank you all for your hints !!!

    ReplyDelete
  151. Finally got 9. I just kept going back through all the hints and just kept trying stuff. The "TWICE" reference threw me off. You have to use each number twice in a different way, don't double anything.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I'm beginning to enjoy the riddle games, thanks

So I got to level four but could not find anything on google

    How for/four sail/s ?

I'd love to finish...sorry but the comments didn't help.

    ?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Jim,
There's not just one HOW but more of them
    So HOWS, sounds like?
    And SAILES, sounds like?

    ReplyDelete
  154. thank you @annaby. I will go back and work on it. makes sense now!

    ReplyDelete
  155. I didn't expect a (if any) response until tomorrow..

Thanks small but if the band are dutch google isn't giving!

Now it sounds like 'houses for sale' lol

    ReplyDelete
  156. And the devil has sent me to level 5

I was so close but yet...

    Nice one s-t

    ReplyDelete
  157. Lvl 6 now, Nice twist using a pen on 5

    ReplyDelete
  158. Dang. I'm at 9 and can't get the second part. I can't figure out how to "use the numbers a different way" as it says many times above.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Zoe,
One way is Alphabet, Other way is that Chemical table.
Gives 4 letters with the same numbers.
And after that: Granny knows best :)

    ReplyDelete
  160. I need to pee after lvl 6

    ReplyDelete
  161. Zoe, you only use the last 2 numbers twice, the answer is a 4 letter word.

    ReplyDelete
  162. ufff, finally finished, thanks a lot for those brain teasers! I really liked them :) The beards were the hardest.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Lvl 7, I love to watch them come up for air on a rainy night

    ReplyDelete
  164. so, 8 is H and 15 is O. How can I make a word from HHOO?

    ReplyDelete
  165. I feel really dumb because so many have already got it.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Oh for pete's sake! I got it.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Zoe,
You only did numbers to alphabet, but not numbers to (used in) Periodic Table.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I just was not seeing it - and one of the hints said you don't double it, which is exactly what I was doing!!! Silly me.

small-tool: did you say there's another one tomorrow? Or is this the last prequel? Because I sure do need another one!! lol!

    ReplyDelete
  169. You guys...really..if you want me to delete this link no prob!

    http://cdn1.bostonmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/beards.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  170. No need to delete anything Jim :)
It's all about getting into some of the basics of how riddle games work.

Yep, Zoe, tomorrow the last Prequel.

And congrats and thanks for playing, everyone who finished and for the ones yet to finish :)

    ReplyDelete
  171. I'm going to leave lvl 9 till the morn, great fun and TY all. GN

    ReplyDelete
  172. Stuck on LEVEL 3
    Cant see it
    Struggling all day
    Magnified it
    Still cant see it

    ReplyDelete
  173. Everyone says level 5 is easy
    I dont see it?

    ReplyDelete
  174. DUH
    POP again
Sorry I get them as soon as I post
The graph paper gives this one

    ReplyDelete
  175. Thank you small. That was a bit tricky, but got there in the end.

    ReplyDelete
  176. A little more help on level 2? Please? Anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  177. @JC - first letters of animals give code - use that on the number & size of pics

    ReplyDelete
  178. JC

If the first picture is one of one then the second picture would be two of two and the third would be third of third and the fourth would be "r"

    ReplyDelete
  179. 9 is driving me nutz! Not hoso, soho... How am I messing this up?

    ReplyDelete
  180. Luke, check your element letters again for 8 and 15, neither the S or O is correct.

    ReplyDelete
  181. 8-Oxygen, 15-Phosphorus (oops, been staring at the possibilities too long, but did play with the P earlier.) What's wrong with 8=O?

    ReplyDelete
  182. The alpha ans was H+O, but don't you combine with element initials?

    ReplyDelete
  183. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Oops sorry, you are right ...the O was right and now you have the right answer for the other too.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Thank you Annaby & RSA MC. I had to go out for longer than anticipated & when I returned, I reviewed all the comments & hints & it finally sank in. But what does Japan have to do with anything, or am I denser than I realize?

    ReplyDelete
  186. I made it - with lots of help - thank you ST & Jon & everyone who left hints!

    ReplyDelete
  187. I still don't understand how to solve lvl 2. I got the code but don't know how to apply it. (Don't understand previous hints)
