Thanks for the riddle Small and Jon!
ReplyDeleteHi S-T - we meet again :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, I'm stuck on level 1.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me today's prequel is going to be harder, also stuck on level 1. I suspect the hint is to use roman numerals, but so far it isn't helping me.
ReplyDeletefor level 1, every card has a suit :)
ReplyDeletestuck on lvl 1 too
ReplyDeletehints please
LOL - I have no idea how to interpret that @Donas
ReplyDeleteI knew S-T was just toying with us in the first 2 prequels :P
ReplyDeletegoing in now (I'm a glutton for punishment :/ )
ReplyDeletefor level 1, four of clubs is B
ReplyDeletelevel 1
ReplyDeletehearts clubs etc use one with the other
Thanks @Donas! Had to guess letter from the odd card
ReplyDeleteLvl 2 now
I'm in and got the first level :D
ReplyDeleteStaring at some animals now.
Hi fellow riddlers...
lvl 2 was easy.
ReplyDeleteon to lvl 3. Do I have to read numbers there? hard to see
arrgh! already stuck on level 1. Something about that Italian flag throws me off.
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain why the 4 of clubs = B?
ReplyDelete@annaby, look at what you've written lol
ReplyDeleteon level one you just use the 'rome' hint on that particular card. For the rest just pick letters like Donas said. You get 3 words
ReplyDeleteHello everybody. One more nightmare for me.
ReplyDeleteAny help on lvl 3? I really can't read what's in there. Don't even know if it's letters or numbers.
ReplyDeleteLOLOL - TY @Rambler!!!
ReplyDeleteI told you, every next day a bit harder. :P
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, Good luck and have fun and help each other big time.
And stack onlvl 1.
ReplyDeleteRambler's hint with annaby's question was the key for me!
ReplyDeletefor level 3, you need letters, the title is important
ReplyDeleteok...so overlaping letters
ReplyDeletei see something like SUSSFLESS N P
hey! joining right now. thanks small-tool!
ReplyDeleteMorganna, first is SL
ReplyDeleteStaring at two trying to have an aha moment. Any clues?
ReplyDeleteFinally saw lvl 3 :) onto 4
ReplyDeleteNow I can't see level 2!
ReplyDeleteThis is like Wheel Of Fortune... got any Bs?
ReplyDeleteLuke, try to see the long and short of it
ReplyDelete@luke see first letter of each animal and then you'll understand how to apply the pic
ReplyDeletelol, lvl 4 is quite funny.
ReplyDeletespeak out loud and don't forget about singular and plural.
oh, man, level 3 was too clever! Think movie titles...
ReplyDeleteok, i think i see the first word on lvl 3. But still don't get the answer
ReplyDeletewhat about those letters at the end that looks like N P?
Can't believe I did 4 & 5 fairly quickly. I'm sure it won't be long before I come to a grinding halt :)
ReplyDeleteOh 2 is great! Look at the initial letters of each animal for a clue to where to look for the answer. Then look at the shape each picture makes.
ReplyDeleteYour hint helped me @zoz
ReplyDeleteThanks
Good hints, thanks.
ReplyDeletelvl 1. pls help
ReplyDelete@Morgana, so glad I could help! For level 4 I had to use Google.
ReplyDelete@Morgana Queiroz: in lvl 3 there are two words and the last word only has 2 letters.
ReplyDelete@Zoran, Donas 727 told us the first letter is B. Now think about "4" in relations to "clubs"
ReplyDeleteZoran,
ReplyDeleteCard suits are named Clubs, Spades, Hearts and Diamonds. NOw pick letters.
@Zoran: focus on the symbols and combine them with the number
ReplyDeleteZoran - think how we describe cards - for instance 7 of diamonds would be 'd' - then make words.
ReplyDeletehmm, i think i have the missing letters for lvl 7, but they don't make any sense to me...
ReplyDeleteGot lvl 4 thanks to @Casual hint
ReplyDeletelvl 5 was easy, lvl 6 too
stuck on 7
@zoz tnx
ReplyDeleteFor level 3, the letters in the left box are too close together, or to put it another way, thelettersintheleftboxaretooclosetogether. If the answer is unfamiliar, google it for the 'where'.
ReplyDelete7 kind of like 1.
ReplyDeletePOP! level is almost the same as level 1. just use the correct word
ReplyDeleteRighto, got to level 6 and need to eat, back soon...
ReplyDeleteany idea for lvl 8? i think i can identify the first 5 (brown) letters and guessed the last one.
ReplyDeleteand it says "start with AN alphabet" not "THE" which is more common, right?
Thanks for a great game! the last level is tricky!
ReplyDeleteI can't see any picture on level 2???
ReplyDeleteFor level 8 no need to guess the top part.
ReplyDeleteRedLuth is a great riddle site:
http://luthorien.altervista.org/Tools/alphabets.htm
Casual, once you have read the brown letters, google to find the others
ReplyDeleteyou must be kidding! there is a beard alphabet????
ReplyDeleteTry to refresh EnJoy
ReplyDeleteor try this:
http://imageprocessor.websimages.com/width/484/crop/0,0,484x338/ssprequel3.webs.com/Riddle%203%20Level%202.JPG
I have refreshed many times small-tool. Tried FF and Safari. your link above didn't give me any image. "cannot display because it contains errors"
ReplyDelete@EnJoy: i can open the pic.
ReplyDeletetry this link: http://s1.directupload.net/images/140122/jevsdjju.jpg
Saw the clue on 8 and have googled - lost of interesting stuff, got completely sidetracked for a while :), but still no further along getting to the answer (:
ReplyDeleteTry this EnJoy:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/525qEuK.jpg
I don't have an image for level 5
ReplyDeleteStuck on 9. Got the first part but having trouble making "the answer twice as big as I think."
ReplyDeleteSorry guys, sometimes FreeWebs acts up a bit. When no pic try to refresh with ctrl F5.
ReplyDeleteAnyway pic for level 5:
http://i.imgur.com/ixwrb52.jpg
CeeBee, try googling what you translated with alphabet or guide
ReplyDeleteFull of food now lol
ReplyDeleteGot up to level 9 but the pic won't load :(
Tried it from the source too...
@Cee Bee; did you already use the alphabet small-tool showed? google this word with beards and you see which beards belongs to who.
ReplyDeletei don't have the full answer yet, but the first 5 letters already make a word...
thanks S-T - ctrl F5 worked :)
ReplyDeleteoh no! level 9 is either about chemistry or menstruation. i don't understand both... ;)
ReplyDeleteRambler,
ReplyDeletePic level 9:
http://i.imgur.com/fIsubBz.jpg
Dur....nm...got it! lol
ReplyDeleteYay, well done Szarra, congrats :)
ReplyDeleteCan I get the image for level 6? Refreshing didn't work this time
ReplyDeletethanks small-tool. your second link gave me the picture
ReplyDeleteI can't see any picture on level 7
ReplyDeleteLevel 6 pic:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/QkVu3RH.jpg
NVM, I put the url into google images which worked. Translated it into a statement and working on it.
ReplyDelete@s-t, there are two letters I need to work with? The last two?
Level 7 pic:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/sQ1lpvj.jpg
Oh no! no picture on level 3 either. I may go switch to my desk top and try chrome or IE
ReplyDeleteLevel 3 pic:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/LzYLAp1.jpg
@EnJoy: this problem has nothing to do with the computer (or browser) you are using.
ReplyDeleteaah.........thanks Casual & Donas. I was only using one word DUH!!
ReplyDeleteRambler, there are two numbers you need to work with, work with them in two ways ;)
ReplyDeletethe last answer is? THE LAST ANSWER IS??? i thought i had it, but then....thats NOT cool small-tool :p
ReplyDeleteGot it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the riddle s-t, and thanks for the help :D
Oh thanks Casual. don't know much about computers etc...
ReplyDeleteno picture on 4 either small-tool
See you all on the fourth one :D
ReplyDeleteon 9, the first part is easy enough, but the answer? Not there yet!
ReplyDeletePic level 4:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/2JpJxKR.jpg
Congrats Rambler, well done :)
Hi! I take an hour to level 3 I cannot see the letters, only four,I see double haha
ReplyDeleteholy sh*t. the guy looks like joker on god knows what kind of drugs.
ReplyDeletethanks small-tool! looking forward to tomorrow.
Lol, yep he does Casual :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing, well done :)
wow, got through it all! That last one was very tricky, having to approach the answer using two different methods combined.
ReplyDeleteI also thought that the Beard Alphabet was esoteric, to say the least.
Another great prequel @s-t!
Yay, congrats Zoz, well done :)
ReplyDeletePichi, it starts with SLEE
@pichi: there are 2 words and 1 punctuation mark. the first word has 9 letters and the second word 2 letters.
ReplyDeletedon't forget the title.
lol, that video makes me think of the song you once brought up, @Small Tool: They're Coming To Take Me Away (Ha ha, hee hee, ho ho)
ReplyDeletelvl 8 picture pleaseeeeee
ReplyDeletePic level 8:
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/1uGv521.jpg
Still getting nowhere on the last answer...
ReplyDeletecan someone give me a hint on level 7? I think I am suppose to pick letters but from what word? "letterbeads?"
ReplyDeleteOkay I've translated the flags in level 6 but.. apparently that word isn't the answer?
ReplyDelete@fdbbd: It should work
ReplyDeletelevel 6 is the translation of the flags
ReplyDeleteI thought the flags did give the answer for 6 fdbbd - have you checked the word?
ReplyDeleteBeen trying.. also keep trying to re-translate but coming up the same.
ReplyDeleteGuess I'll try again...
@Enjoy: Pick the letters from the full words of the text above the answer box.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy, there was a good hint earlier about level seven being similar to level one.
ReplyDeletefdbbd - what do people use on dry lawns?
ReplyDeleteI still can't make the last part of 9 twice as big - phooey!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy, its a 5 letter word, one letter from each word above the answer box.
ReplyDeletePhooey from me too Cee Bee! What IS it?!!
ReplyDeleteLevel 9 - its as easy as ABC to use the numbers a different way.
ReplyDeleteAh there we go! I was forgetting a letter (second to last) so it still made a word and I didn't notice...
ReplyDeletefor level 9, use a basic method and combine it with using the table
ReplyDeletethanks for the help got 7.
ReplyDelete@Clodagh: LOL!! Misery loves company..........LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI don't get level 9
ReplyDeletethe last part, do i use elements again? i don't understand the 'twice as big' hint
Thanks I got it
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I am Brazilian and I have great difficulty to understand what you are saying. I understood nothing in níevl 1. Can anyone help? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteFinally!!!...........Thanks Donas
ReplyDeleteGreat Riddle as always S-T. I'll miss the posting time tomorrow, but will play when I get back. I'm looking forward to a brain-challenged weekend :P
For level 9,
ReplyDeleteDonas and c0fe7758-7e30-11e3-b451-000f20980440 gave some very good hints!!!
if i convert 8 15 to letters i get 'ho'. That's an element. then what?
ReplyDelete@Morgana: your first part is correct. now check the numbers like you did before and add those two letters
ReplyDelete@Morgana: Do what Donas said and combine it with what you get from the table
ReplyDeletelevel 8 - Am I supposed to make a word out of the guys names?
ReplyDeleteYour clue helped me Casual, and Morgana's query. Thanks to you both! Out now, dum-de-dum!
ReplyDelete@annaby: yes, 1st letters
ReplyDeleteIn lvl 4
ReplyDeleteI can not find the song,I name all of the image, but my google is unresponsive
Well-done Clodagh!! :)
ReplyDeleteoh dear - all I have is consonants!
ReplyDeleteif anyone needs help with 8 - this picture might help
ReplyDeletehttp://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1805121/808457536.png
@pichi: add "song" or "lyrics" to your query. it should work then
ReplyDeleteBee Ceeing you tomorrow! (Oh dear, can't think straight any more...).
ReplyDeleteannaby, it is not the guy's names, but each beard has a nickname.
ReplyDeleteThat's the picture I'm looking at @EnJoy, but I can't make a word out of their names
ReplyDeletebut the nicknames all start with consonants - what should I be picking?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteFinally done! Thanks for all the hints
ReplyDeleteoh - I got a pic wrong - think I have it now
ReplyDelete@annaby: there should be 2 vowels
ReplyDeleteCasual I do that but I can not find it
ReplyDeleteLOL - I always get stuck on the ones everyone else thinks is easy. I'm afraid that obscure Dutch bands are not my forte.
ReplyDeleteHaving to trawl through the comments to find the pictures isn't making it any easier. If someone would be kind enough to post all of the pictures for the levels in one place, I would be so grateful.
@rsa momma cyndi: I just ctrl+F to find things easier. As for the dutch band, figure out what the picture says and google that with "dutch band" which is what I did.
ReplyDeletefor level 4, the rebus gives the name of the song, you need the Dutch band
ReplyDeletelevel 3: speak out loud what you see (how's four sail) and think of other words that sound the same but are written different.
ReplyDeletefor example: 2 = two (written) = to (spoken)
I am really struggling with 9. I have read all the hints above and have nothing but 8 15 = Ho which is 67 on periodic table.
ReplyDelete90e= ninety is thorium on periodic table but what is the "e"? (fifth letter of the alphabet?)... am I at all on the right track?
going to go do some work and take a fresh look at 9 later. Help! :)
ReplyDelete@EnJoy - use a periodic table by atomic number. So the first is 90 - symbol for that element is th, add an e. Do that for the rest of the boxes. That will get you partway there. I still don't have the final answer
ReplyDelete8 and 15 are in the periodic table too :)
ReplyDeleteUsually numbers translate into letters - use 8 and 15 that way too, and add to the letters you got for them using the periodic table.
ReplyDeleteFinally done. Is it getting harder or is the cold weather affecting my brain. Perhaps both!!!
ReplyDeletefdbbd.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Got a lightbulb moment about a song I never knew existed but finding the obscure band was a bit of a google nightmare as I really don't want to purchase property at the moment :)
I have ctr-F5'd my poor laptop into submission but it does nothing at all to help and neither does refreshing in IE, Chrome or Firefox.
Back tomorrow, please leave good clues :)
ReplyDeleteLOL - left for a while and when I came back I realized I had the answer for 9 all the time :D
ReplyDeletethanks S-T - see you tomorrow
Thank you small-tool !!it was great !!!!
ReplyDeleteafter lvl 1 that was smt!!!LOL i thought i could never finish ,but i did !!!
and thank you Jon !
and thank you all for your hints !!!
ReplyDeleteFinally got 9. I just kept going back through all the hints and just kept trying stuff. The "TWICE" reference threw me off. You have to use each number twice in a different way, don't double anything.
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to enjoy the riddle games, thanks
ReplyDeleteSo I got to level four but could not find anything on google
How for/four sail/s ?
I'd love to finish...sorry but the comments didn't help.
?
Jim,
ReplyDeleteThere's not just one HOW but more of them
So HOWS, sounds like?
And SAILES, sounds like?
thank you @annaby. I will go back and work on it. makes sense now!
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect a (if any) response until tomorrow..
ReplyDeleteThanks small but if the band are dutch google isn't giving!
Now it sounds like 'houses for sale' lol
Try: House for sale
ReplyDeleteAnd the devil has sent me to level 5
ReplyDeleteI was so close but yet...
Nice one s-t
Lvl 6 now, Nice twist using a pen on 5
ReplyDeleteDang. I'm at 9 and can't get the second part. I can't figure out how to "use the numbers a different way" as it says many times above.
ReplyDeleteZoe,
ReplyDeleteOne way is Alphabet, Other way is that Chemical table.
Gives 4 letters with the same numbers.
And after that: Granny knows best :)
I need to pee after lvl 6
ReplyDeleteZoe, you only use the last 2 numbers twice, the answer is a 4 letter word.
ReplyDeleteufff, finally finished, thanks a lot for those brain teasers! I really liked them :) The beards were the hardest.
ReplyDeleteLvl 7, I love to watch them come up for air on a rainy night
ReplyDeleteso, 8 is H and 15 is O. How can I make a word from HHOO?
ReplyDeleteI feel really dumb because so many have already got it.
ReplyDeleteOh for pete's sake! I got it.
ReplyDeleteZoe,
ReplyDeleteYou only did numbers to alphabet, but not numbers to (used in) Periodic Table.
I just was not seeing it - and one of the hints said you don't double it, which is exactly what I was doing!!! Silly me.
ReplyDeletesmall-tool: did you say there's another one tomorrow? Or is this the last prequel? Because I sure do need another one!! lol!
You guys...really..if you want me to delete this link no prob!
ReplyDeletehttp://cdn1.bostonmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/beards.jpg
No need to delete anything Jim :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about getting into some of the basics of how riddle games work.
Yep, Zoe, tomorrow the last Prequel.
And congrats and thanks for playing, everyone who finished and for the ones yet to finish :)
I'm going to leave lvl 9 till the morn, great fun and TY all. GN
ReplyDeleteStuck on LEVEL 3
ReplyDeleteCant see it
Struggling all day
Magnified it
Still cant see it
POP
ReplyDeleteGOT it
E Not B
Everyone says level 5 is easy
ReplyDeleteI dont see it?
DUH
ReplyDeletePOP again
Sorry I get them as soon as I post
The graph paper gives this one
Thank you small. That was a bit tricky, but got there in the end.
ReplyDeleteA little more help on level 2? Please? Anyone?
ReplyDelete@JC - first letters of animals give code - use that on the number & size of pics
ReplyDeleteJC
ReplyDeleteIf the first picture is one of one then the second picture would be two of two and the third would be third of third and the fourth would be "r"
9 is driving me nutz! Not hoso, soho... How am I messing this up?
ReplyDeleteLuke, check your element letters again for 8 and 15, neither the S or O is correct.
ReplyDelete8-Oxygen, 15-Phosphorus (oops, been staring at the possibilities too long, but did play with the P earlier.) What's wrong with 8=O?
ReplyDeleteThe alpha ans was H+O, but don't you combine with element initials?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOops sorry, you are right ...the O was right and now you have the right answer for the other too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Annaby & RSA MC. I had to go out for longer than anticipated & when I returned, I reviewed all the comments & hints & it finally sank in. But what does Japan have to do with anything, or am I denser than I realize?
ReplyDeleteI made it - with lots of help - thank you ST & Jon & everyone who left hints!
ReplyDeleteI still don't understand how to solve lvl 2. I got the code but don't know how to apply it. (Don't understand previous hints)
