It will start easy (especially when you played the 4 prequels), but will slowly get harder. Anyway, have a lot of fun with it and help each other a lot in the comments but...

  3. so, if we can get to the last page, it that the end, or is that an egg to solve?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Unknown,
You will find a pic with that.
The pic is very easy to solve and then you get the real congrats.

    ReplyDelete
  5. @small-tool: i found a pic .. i see what looks like a word .. trying to read it ..

    ReplyDelete
  6. Go go go Unknown. Almost there.
It's an 8 letter word (no anagram).

    ReplyDelete
  7. @small-tool: i think id prefer if it were written in Ogham -- wait, is it??

    *looks again*

    nope ... whew!

still trying .. i wont give up .. dont give me any more clues yet

    ReplyDelete
  8. @small-tool: yes, definitely prefer Ogham.

    out!

small-tool, thank you for several days and nights of intense puzzle solving, and thank you all for the best chat/forum/comments group ive participated in - many, many nice people here. :) see you next puzzle!

(hanging around for a little bit in case people need hints)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yay Congrat Unknown. Well done :)
Oops, I guess I missed to say congrats to Candi, so the same goes for you :)

Btw. Unknown, feel free to post in the comments/hof page :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. @small-tool; i tried to post on the hof, but it says i need a login, and i didnt want to sign up for anything right now. did i do something wrong, or does it require login?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hm.
You should be able to post as anon or (without login) as: With a temporary name
Those option should be there if you click set name.
But if it doesn't work, post it here and I'll post it with your name and then you can delete it here.

    ReplyDelete
  12. @small-tool: seems to work now ... weird ...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Congrats, Unknown!

    ReplyDelete
  14. on level 44, I have t*** y** but its not working

    ReplyDelete
  15. Pinkgirl, I think you have some letters wrong there. It is basic conversion. Gold coins to numbers to...........

    ReplyDelete
  16. YAY!!! I finally finished this superbly crafted riddle! Thank-you Small-Tool for creating it and to everyone who helped me finish.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am still at bonus 2. Sliding efforts are leading me nowhere. It is impossible to write five.

    ReplyDelete
  18. PinHead,
    You don't write five.
    You make 16 letters
No anagram, 2 words and a so called extension.
How many steps to each ring moves and to what side is not trial and error, there is a hint in that " " sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @ST, I can get from the "" sentence the following:
    1- 5 consecutive digits
2- 5 digits between 1 and 26 (first things first)
    3- Left/right directions from the 5 digits in (2)
Trying different combinations did not yield anything. Did I miss some other clue?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Pinhead first idea is best

    ReplyDelete
  21. @mtatt, thanks, but what about the direction of each move?

    ReplyDelete
  22. All 5 to the right? I am turning around in circles.

    ReplyDelete
  23. PinHead, you take Steps.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes Pinhead,
And how many steps each you already know (Mtatt confirmed the correct one).

    ReplyDelete
  25. *blushes* I was still using the wrong data (order of faces) that I had corrected yesterday.
I got 2 words now, 7 and 6 letters with the remaining 3 being an indecipherable character, a letter, and a digit.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The 3 at the end are letters too. It's a pic extension becasue you have to use the url now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just want to add my congratulations to all who finished this behemoth -- Donas (especially for your excellent clues!), xaq, mtatt, Unknown, Candi, Pinhead, and anyone else I've missed.
I'm treading water on lvl 48 - got both messages translated so now just have to figure out what part goes in the answer box. I can only do a couple of these a day (with a day off in between), so you'll be seeing me finish sometime in 2015!
Thanks to s-t and jon for an unbelievably challenging and fun game!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Finally finished the riddle!!

Thank you ST for such a challenging 60+ levels riddle!

    ReplyDelete
  29. @zoz, I don't have the messages anymore, but IIRC when you finish a maze, what do you do (it is written in this maze)? Add that to the message.

    ReplyDelete
  30. thanks @Pinhead. I had just left off the last two words on 48. Now getting ready to take a break from 49 (got the directions, got the 6 letter word for the five letters in pic, got the cipher to use, trying to use it on the 7 letters with the 6 letter key... and gibberish)

    ReplyDelete
  31. oh, how I love POP! (decrypt vs. encrypt was my saving grace on 49).

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm not really sure I want to get past this level (57) b/c if I can't get this what chances do I have on 58 and 59, but I will ask anyway. What do I need to mostly anagram on 57, I don't see anything obvious?

    ReplyDelete
  33. c0fe, for 57 you need the same method from level 2, then who is in the picture? It isn't grandMa, but GrandPa. Now do the implied swap and you have your letters to anagram

    ReplyDelete
  34. TY Donas, level 2 was about three life times ago, no wonder I didn't remember!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Level 53 Have read all the hints a dozen times to no avail. know 2 words total 5 letters. Know the colors from the sentence. can see first 2 #s are 3 & 6. If yellow T is first letter, can get that from 3rd yellow letter. Nothing else works. Help!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Next letter would be the 6th blue, being an R

    ReplyDelete
  37. @patty3ponies, the hint is more than 2 words. Keep reading in the grid beyond what you thought were 2 words.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am slowly plodding on and got to lvl 49 however I am not sure how I get the 7 letters needed to solve it I know what the 6 letter word is and what cipher to use but dont understand the hint first things first help would be appreciated thanks

    ReplyDelete
  39. lvl 53 and the 3rd letter would be 2nd green = Y; I figured those eight letters. again to no avail.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @patty3ponies, You have now a 2 word sentence (3 and 5 letters). It tells you what to do.

@ladysue, First things first on the text below the pic should give you 4 words and the 7 letters.

    ReplyDelete
  41. thank you PinHead I can be so dumb sometimes

    ReplyDelete
  42. lvl 53 if the 4th letter is G, I do not get a five letter word. Does the method change?

    ReplyDelete
  43. nevermind!! I had it two days ago!! and didn't put it in right. Thank you; thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Trying 59 again, I (think) i found five patterns pretty easily. The + is still a mystery to me. From the hints i probably know where it should end but i like to understand why before i continue. Do i have to look at letters, numbers? Backwards, forwards? Is it a special sequence?I don't see it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dutchie,
The pattern is going down and if you can't go down further you move a column to the right (if no more columns to the right move to the first column) and from that pattern it would be easy to find out what the used sequence is.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I did that before but couldn't find a word. So i thought that one was maybe a teaser from you, too easy. Conclusion: I have 1 (or more) other signs wrong, Probably the O because you said that was a difficult one and that was the first one i found. Thinking chess and skipping a grid each time. Thanks s-t i will continue the search.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi all, started a few days after everyone else - so far managed to get by thanks to all the questions and comments you've all left (really, I mean it, thanks!). However, my brain's completely addled and I can't figure out Level 39 (lost in translation - flags). I got the hint from first things, don't know what to do next. Ah, just had a POP mid-comment. I figured out that the Indonesian flag is actually Polish upside down - then my method worked. Soo happy! Bedtime now (gone midnight here), more tomorrow...

    ReplyDelete
  48. BTW S-T, I was under the impression from your comments on other game walkthroughs that you're quite a nice guy - turns out you're a bit of a closet sadist... Not sure fun is the right word for this game, but it is clever, and I'm hooked - thanks for all your hard work! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  49. @dutchie, for +, assign numbers to the 25 cell grid with the top left being 1, the one below 2, the top cell of the 2nd column 6, etc... then look for a pattern. It is by far the simplest pattern of all.

    ReplyDelete
  50. For level 1 V is 5 in roman numerals and the 5th letter in the alphabet is E. 20 15 is T O. And the others is like Casual posted at 9:58 AM.

    ReplyDelete
  51. For level 3 opposites of opposites
    soft-hard-easy
    heavy-light-dark
    new-old-young
    open-close-far
    left-right-wrong
    ever-never-always

    ReplyDelete
  52. Level 60, can you tell me how many words the answer is? I have 2 words "I s**p", which isn't grammatically correct, but adding additional words isn't helping.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Finally at level 60 :)
For 59 i had the answer but did not read everything. Lesson learned again (i hope).

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wow, level 58 really separates the A team from the rest of us. If I'm stuck here forever, please send food! And wine!

    ReplyDelete
  55. c0fe,
Read the last sentence very carefully and you know what to add to what you already found.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Lol, don't worry Zoz, you're doing great. It isn't even two weeks yet.
Once, a 50 levels riddle (SToG) took me more than 5 weeks to finish.
Anyway really glad to see you playing. Go, go, go :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. thanks for the encouragement @s-t! I'm still calculating...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hi! stuck in lvl 53
I read your clues to this level, but I do not understand the method used to get letters. Please someone help me? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  59. Level 60, i am so tired, don't understand anything anymore. Twelve letters for the answer?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Pichi,
Use the length of the words (you is 3 etc.) to pick letters. Use the first letter of a word to know what to count to pick a letter.
You will get 2 words with that (no anagram), but the first word is in a way telling you to only use the second word.

    Dutchie,
More than 12 letters. The answer is a 4 word sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @pichi, the statement is eight words. Try first things first, combined with counting letters.

@dutchie, I feel your pain! I just finished 58, which was absurdly difficult, imho. Gotta take a break now. Good luck, you're almost there!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sorry, but I do not understand, there are words that have the same number of letters colors, and then I can not choose letter

    ReplyDelete
  63. @small-tool, thanks i will give it one more go.

@zoz, thanks, I'll wave at you as when pass me. Good luck for the last ones and remember to read everything on 59.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Pichi, write down the sentense you read and notice the 1st letters of its words ,for ex. 1st word starts with Y and its a 3 letter word.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I write words and letters according to the number of color I choose that letter, but there are some that do not match. Is that correct?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Pichi,
"You" is 3 letters and the first letter is Y. That stands for yellow so pick the third yellow letter.
Do the same with the other words, but always start counting on the top left of the grid.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Dutchie pours herself a drink and looks at Leffe(l) 60 one more time.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Kom op Dutchie!
    Je kan het :)
    Gewoon heel letterlijk lezen!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well, I think I get it, but I can not have 8 letters, because my English is a translator. I can get 7 and two of them are repeated, is it?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Nu raak ik nog meer van mijn apropos.
And the drink isn't helpfull either (maar wel lekker).

    ReplyDelete
  71. Pichi,
No need for a translator, it's no anagram.
But it is two words: T** G****
And you use the second word as answer.

    ReplyDelete
  72. the sentense has 8 words ,thats why 8 letters are needed ,and 2 are the same

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thanks small-tool,zoz and new! Done!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Well, i quit for today. Nothing makes sense right now. I am starting to see hints in the hints and that's probably not right. I will try again tomorrow evening. Goodnight.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The Hall of Fame looks empty with nothing to click on.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Congrats cOfe :)

Try to refresh the page a few times. There should be a kind of chat page in the middle with comments.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Or mail me (click my avatar) and I'll give you a direct link to that hof inside the hof.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Refresh doesn't help but that's okay, its not that important. Thanks for the riddles ST, I thoroughly enjoyed them!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Please please please help with lvl 58 read all the hints found the dates worked out the new co-ords using hints provided think tere right as I get b,x for 1014 as small-tool stated in a previous hint but for the life of me cannot work out how to reduce the 20 letters into 10 for the answer help would be appreciated as I do not want to stall at the end when I am so close to the finish Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  80. With fresh brains straight to bonuslevel 1.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Ladysue,
You don't get 20 letters, but 10 with using West and East.
North and South is used to change the letters you found into other letters.
For example if you do that with the B and X then they both become a (different) vowel.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thanks small-tool will give it another go but not promising that I will not need more help but then again Iam not very quick on the uptake so here goes

    ReplyDelete
  83. OMG finally got lvl 58 thanks to s-t and all the hints now looking at 59 first things first check all previous hints then have a nervous breakdown

    ReplyDelete
  84. For bonus level 1: Is it one word of twelve letters?

    ReplyDelete
  85. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Dutchie,
It's a 12 letter word but you have to anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Ok, all i can find is one eleven letter word, so i have the wrong letters. I will try again. From the board three T's isn't right probably?

    ReplyDelete
  88. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @dutchie, Bonus level 1 word does not include 3 T's.

    ReplyDelete
  90. made it to 60, yay! Hit a brick wall, boo :{
I just can't stop thinking about Mississippi. Guess I'll sleep on it. After all, I'm not setting any speed records here!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yay Zoz :)
Again: you're doing great (and yep, riddles aren't about speed records, it's about having fun with your brain)
Anyway, on 60. don't get fooled by all the red herrings acting like sharks and lurking around to bite you. It's way easier than you think. Read very carefully!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Will there be a link for a walkthrough for people not good at riddles? I never got past level 1 but would like to see what I missed. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yep, a good night's sleep does wonders. So does reading carefully ;P I can't believe I actually made it through all 60! Do I learn the secret handshake now?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Congrats zoz, hope you can give me a usefull hint for bonuslevel 1.
    I'm still stuck there.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Dutchie, what confused me for a long time on bonus 1 was that I thought a roll of 5 meant to move 5 spaces, it does not mean that.

    ReplyDelete
  96. hi @dutchie! I'm stuck on bonus level 1 as well. I wish I had a die somewhere, or even a cube I could make into a die. I keep running off the board! btw, did you start where the board message suggests?

    ReplyDelete
  97. dutchie, imagine a die exactly as shown in the pic (with 1 on top) on the starting point. Then roll the die so that the next number in the list is on top, using the shortest path for the die. You should not run off the board.

    ReplyDelete
  98. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Back again, thanks all for the support. I know where to start. It's written in the message. I know i should not move five, four etc. times. I know which six letters the die already gives. But i can't find a granny who can change my letters into one word of twelve letters. I was confused by the differences in s-t's die and the real die i used, but i have tried all the possibilities whitout luck.
Well i can't quit now so i will keep trying to find the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  100. @dutchie, look at ST's die with 1 on the top. The next die number is 5. How do you roll the die one step to get 5 on top?
Note: opposite faces add up to 7 in any standard die.

    ReplyDelete
  101. how is s-t's die different from a standard die? If I take the numbers in the poem to mean which number is on top once the die is rolled, then I can do all the moves in one step each, except the last one (six to five).
And, @Pinhead, what did you mean by "hence the die value is used for 'news'" in your earlier comment?
    This is getting ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  102. :) Thanks Pinhead, i know what the opposite sides are. I just can't find the right 6 letters (with just one vowel) but i will keep on rolling until i 'die' and find the word. This riddle has given me headaches, strange dreams, i see patterns everywhere, i forget to eat, i hate it, i love it. But i will beat it (one day).

    ReplyDelete
  103. @zoz In s-t's die the three and four are swapped compared to the real die i have.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @dutchie: hmmm, now that you mention it, the 2 and 3 in s-t's photo are mirror images of the ones on the die I made by printing out a template then cutting and taping it. Mine has the dots on the 2 as lower left, upper right; the dots on the 3 run from upper left to lower right.
Time for me to stop, eat (and possibly drink!), and catch up with some games I've missed.

    ReplyDelete
  105. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Finally got it. On to bonuslevel 2

    ReplyDelete
  107. And finished. Thanks s-t and all for the helpfull hints.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yay, big, big congrats Dutchie :)
    Btw. I think I forgot so here it goes as well;
Big, big congrats to Pinhead too :)

    ReplyDelete
  109. oh for cryin' out loud (which is what I should be doing right about now). I walked away, came back, and realized that the "die" I assembled with tape from an online template was WRONG! Amazing how easy bonus 1 was when using a corrected version.

    ReplyDelete
  110. happy dancing' goin' on hyea

    ReplyDelete
  111. Yay Zoz :)
    Big, big congrats :)

    ReplyDelete
  112. @ST, Thanks for such a nice riddle. When is sequel 1 due? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  113. (p3p)
    Level 59 Been here for days. Since it is very late in the game, this is what i have. X spirals counterclockwise outward by nos. (1,2,3 etc);
+ goes up & down by odd integers; triangle goes clockwise around edge by prime nos.; square goes right to left & bottom to top by pi nos.; = goes left to right by a +b=c. Is any of that right? Are the numbers found converted to letters or the position on the grid? Do I need to throw in the towel? Is anyone there??

    ReplyDelete
  114. @p3p, it looks like you have everything right. For a bonus level, you'll need to know the keyword for everything which I think you have except for the "=" sign. Try googling the sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, etc.
As for the letters to use, make the next step in each sequence and see where that lands on the final grid, which you make by checking the missing letter on each grid and then making a grid with the next letter in that sequence missing.

    ReplyDelete
  115. that wasn't very clear, so let me try again to explain the final grid: find the letter missing for each grid (e.g., first grid is missing "T"). Write the letters in sequence following the green arrows. It should be obvious what the final letter in that sequence should be; that's the letter you omit from the last grid. Then use the final position of each sequence as it would appear on the final grid.

    ReplyDelete
  116. need help on level 47, can't find the right path, and I have tried every way I see

    ReplyDelete
  117. There's only one possible path from start to finish and that path spells: fail but ok paths.

    ReplyDelete
  118. got the sentence but don't know what to do with it

    ReplyDelete
  119. Do rot with the letters (depending on height of a row).
First 3 letters of the answer would be FAR.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I tried that and am only getting gibberish on level 47

    ReplyDelete
  121. Should work and it's no anagram.
If below the row 'start to exit' then rot up if above that row rot down.
Like the U should be rotted down 14 to become an G

    ReplyDelete
  122. need helps with level 48, not getting morse code right except for the word "last"

    ReplyDelete
  123. pink , one letter=dot, 2 letters=dash and 2 empty cells separate the morse letters and very important (had big problem with this ): its not necessary the morse letter ends at the end of the line

    ReplyDelete
  124. Finally I have finished .Thanks for all the hints along the way, without them it would never have happened. Was I the only person who found it hard to get the word on bonus level 2 took me ages .thanks for the riddle looking forward to the next one.

    ReplyDelete
  125. @ladysue, Gongtats! On Bonus level 2 it was really hard to decipher the word with all the tangles around it.

And that leads me to my only criticism of the game (and I do mean it as constructive criticism!): Some things were just too hard to see, especially the newspapers! Enlarging the screen did not help because the resolution was so bad. So @small-tool and jon: in future games, please have pity on those of us with old eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  126. I've got a** m**** d*** for level 48, but its not working

    ReplyDelete
  127. dont forget the last part....,use it with the rest you ve found

    ReplyDelete
  128. On level 49, I have the 7 letters to decipher, I think I know what cipher to use, but I can't figure out what the key is, I don't see anything in the picture

    ReplyDelete
  129. pink, take a very good look at the key!!!

    ReplyDelete
  130. On level 51, know who the person is but don't understand 54=14 or the born in germany part

    ReplyDelete
  131. Somebody please help me. I have made it all the way to Bonus level 2 on the strength of the hints, but I cannot figure this one out. The hints talk about 5 steps to the right. I have no idea what a step is. Furthermore, I don't know where to begin. What alphabet are these characters in? Sorry for the long post, but I really need assistance with this one.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Pinkgirl,
the 54 is in the word that the left pic is (think Roman) and make it 14 (think alphabet)
    Germany, think language (translate).

    Chael,
After you moved the rings (make 5 rows/strings in Paint or so) you get normal alphabet letters.
What direction to move to and how many steps for each row/string is hinted in the last sentence of the text.

    ReplyDelete
  133. (p3p)
for final pic. Am I trying to read blue wirer?? Not having any luck.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Yep read the blue wire (no anagram, 8 letter word).

    ReplyDelete
  135. Not seeing anything on level 52

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hi small-tool, is the HOF not working anymore? I don't see any results there.

I'm afraid i got addicted to your riddles. The 'cold turkey' stop of 'Small Strife' is hard. Four prequels followed by a riddle of 62 levels needs at least a few sequels to get used to normal life again. Do we have to wait long before your next riddle? (I have done the older ones).

    ReplyDelete
  137. Dutchie,
Sometimes that hof page acts up a bit (it's Flash based), but the comments/hof thing is still there. Maybe refresh works.
And, it takes some time to make riddles, so no idea (but I have 5 levels ready for a new one). But there are all kind of older riddles you can play. Here are a lot of them:
    http://www.escapegames24.com/search/label/Riddle%20Games?max-results=48
And there's a new one (Rovena made her first riddle):
    http://www.escapegames24.com/2014/02/rovena-one.html
And one of these days a new riddlex game will come out and they're always great.

    Pinkgirl,
Read the sentence made by the letters from top to centre. Those letters should ring a bell (about direction) and then you know how to pick a letter from every square.

    ReplyDelete
  138. The top parts of the squares read from top to centre:
    "news we've seen".
Don't use the V (that's why that square has no other letters on the other sides).

  140. I did what you said small-tool, but I only get either neureiitwos or neroeiatwow, and anagramming doesn't work for level 52

    ReplyDelete
  141. I just wanted to say thanks for the hint a couple of days ago. Bonus 2 was really bothering me.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Anyone there? Made it through the mazes, and stuck on 49. I've read all comments, got a string of 7 random letters after 4 words from first things (start=o, end =l), got a 6 letter key (v....s), and a tool on Rumkin to decrypt. I've tried all shifts, encrypt and decrypt - nothing is working. Tried visiting granny with random letters - still didn't work... I'm out of ideas. Don't want to give up.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Looks like you got everything correct.
Decrypt on this site should work.

    http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/caesar-keyed.php
(keep the shift on 0 there)

    Answer is a 3 and 4 letter word b**n***

    ReplyDelete
  144. Yippee! Thanks ST! On to 50 :-)

    ReplyDelete
  145. Wow! I'm really slow here. So many of you are already done! You've given great hints, and so far, I've been able to solve the levels until this current one I'm on, level 50. I've read and reread your hints, but I'm not sure about how my grids are supposed to look. Will my first grid have the first letters of the first 3 lines? And I don't understand overlaying the sign. Is it supposed to block out some letters and divide some so that they make new ones? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  146. For example the first should look like this:

    ATW
    ELL
    AMP

And you pick 5 letters from that grid and that will (without anagramming) give you a 4 letter word and the first letter of the next word.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Thanks, s-t, I'll try it to see if I can get it.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Great, that's all I needed to help me see what was happening!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Managed a few more levels on my own - a couple easily. Now crashed back down to earth on 56. I can 'see' which letter is the odd one out as the start of the word - assume I add a 'v' to it (possibly the missing one, but tried them all!) and get a sounds like by saying out loud. I've tried everything I can think of. Saw from comments that it's 6 letters, otherwise, baffled. Any other hints would be most welcome - determined to finish, however long it takes!

    ReplyDelete
  150. The second letter should be the odd one out. That should be another 'kind' of letter. Put the correct one behind that one and only speak out loud those two letters (not all six).

    ReplyDelete
  151. Hi ST, the obvious answer I think is only a 3 letter word (sounds like!) when saying the odd one with a 'v' following it. I've tried all individually, and not been able to come up with anything that works. I've tried using the soft version of the 'odd' letter, and hard version, nothing is giving me the six letter answer. Feels like I'm a moment of inspiration away from the answer, but not getting it.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I think you got it, but don't replace the odd letter, keep it and put the correct one behind it. Your odd letter out should be the C.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Yeah, that's the odd one I had. Now for the one behind it - I think that means the c comes first - is that one of the 'v's in the sequence, or the missing 'v', or something else? Sticking with the original letter initially, can't come up with a 6 letter word. Brain's turning to fudge...

    ReplyDelete
  154. All the other letters you got from the sequence and the little maths should be vowels. So you miss a vowel. And that one goes behind that C

    ReplyDelete
  155. Oh for goodness sake, no wonder everyone else got it without further hints - easy when you know isn't it? I misunderstood what you said about not changing the c - I thought you meant that was in the answer. Was seriously over-complicating though - I'd already tried 'queues' along with many other ideas. Ah well, onto 57 another day. Thanks :-)

    ReplyDelete
  156. blerk. Any further hints on 60? I get that it's 'right there in the open' but I can't see the forest for the trees, so to speak... help :/

    ReplyDelete
  157. Huh!? You're already in the HOF Unknown, so I thought you were finished!?
Anyway, Level 60 is all about the text (the pic is a red herring).
At some point it says: the answer is.
Start reading from there, add what you have to add and finish with what you have to finish and it will become, without anagramming, a sentence (4 words) and that's the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I'm a different Unknown--for some reason Google decided to sign me in without asking my name. I'll have to sign my comments, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the hint, let's see what I can do from here.

  159. There it is. Was reading too deeply and didn't see the clue. (as I said, forest, trees, etc.

  160. and now stuck on Bonus 2. I cut out the strips and taped them around a soda can, but I'm afraid now I'm having issues figuring out what moves to make. So as to limit how much detail I'm asking for, the only question I'll ask is in which order the rings are numbered--top to bottom or vice-versa?

    ReplyDelete
  161. If you put it like that, then the top ring would be number 1.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Got it! I managed to make the whole deal far harder on myself than it needed to be: somehow once I got the cryptex into GIMP I gained segments where there shouldn't have been any. Oh well. Done now and happy to be out. ;)

Thanks, s-t (and everyone else who left hints along the way).

    ReplyDelete
  163. Hi almighty, I've just finished it, I hope I have permission to play other games now. Thank you very much for making it and Jon, thanks for making it possible. Strife 2 doesn't have a red herring all the way, does it? :)

    ReplyDelete
  164. If you happen to see this post S-T, I'm hearing impaired and can't get past lvl 54. Could you post a hint that doesn't involve hearing the song?

And thank you for this mind numbing riddle! I've been at it all week and love it. Well, except maybe the mazes :)

    ReplyDelete
  165. The song on lvl 54 is seperated meldoy parts.
It is counting how many notes in every part.
    It's 12, 9, 14, 5, 4, 1, 14, 3 and 5 notes.

    ReplyDelete
  166. my first post and desperate!
58 is killing for three days now!!
can't get the second egg... i need another hint on what i'm looking for.. found a lot of names of people that invented the "special rules" and nothing..
followed the hints and manage to create the diagram needed for the e/w/n/s but my S numbers do not work (i think) so i probably need the second egg... HELP please!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Somebody who makes the rules is the same word as that measuring thing. It's a: ruler.

    ReplyDelete
  168. so simple.... thanks s-t!!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Yay! Thank you so much Small, that was great great fun (although my head hurts a little from all the head banging, hair pulling and face slapping, lol) anyway I enjoyed it very very much!! You are brilliant! And thank you so much to everyone who left hints!

    ReplyDelete
  170. Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
I started this riddle (that it is awesome) and I'm stuck on level 7.
English is not my native language so the difficulty is greater.
    Thanks

  172. Hi Ellis. The US refers to United States. There are 3 of them with only 4 letters. Two of them together have 3 O's. Put them together and remove the O's and replace them with 1 A and anagram. You will find another US state.

    ReplyDelete
  173. LinR, Thank you very much
I would not have guessed in the coming year that it is Refers to United States.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Hi , I need more help please
I'm stuck on level 13, have the sentence and hidden words but don't know what do now.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Ellis, Smalltool has a favorite trick. It uses the firsts of something on the page and sometimes the firsts of that which is hidden.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Thanks LinR, got it
Don't understand why all the numbers and words if all we need we have without them.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Ellis, Smalltool likes to use tricks to distract you from the real answer. Red Herrings.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Hi Small, seeing your new riddles reminded me that I only got to level 58 on this one back in February - after a couple of weeks of tearing my hair out, needed a break (just about recovered now!). Trying to get to level 59, but getting a message saying website is frozen (from level 41 - smallerfits.webs). Would love to finish if I can. Thanks, appreciate all the hard work that goes into these :-)

    ReplyDelete
  179. And we're still doing them (just started) 6 months on ... ...

But I don't understand the Ghostleg thingy. Not sure if I have to stay the same direction or can it zigzag down? Not sure if I'm supposed to substitute other letters, nor for which end if I do.

Getting late - I'll have to come back to this another day.
