Small Strife is a, 60 levels, riddle based game created by SmallTool for EG24. This is the real deal you've been practising for the last four days. No, fancy riddle stuff like exif, source, picture manipulation, url things etc. etc. Just your brain and basic riddle tricks. It will start easy (especially when you played the 4 prequels), but will slowly get harder. Anyway, have a lot of fun with it and help each other a lot in the comments but...
Note: Please do not post direct answers, start with hints and after that big hints or even very, very big hints!

A bit Clodagh (other way around this time).
ReplyDeleteS/T "Cute puppy butt pic". I don't see any connection.
ReplyDeleteHi CeeBee, I've been here, just lurking because I got a new computer and couldn't remember my gmail account I never use :) All good with you other than this fiendish puzzle?
ReplyDeleteYep Zoran.
ReplyDeleteAnd what was an 'eye' there?
I'm good Me2 :)
ReplyDeleteWe might be here a while, I think we have to get comfy and put our thinking caps on :)
lvl 9: is it important what the guy on the first picture has on top of his glasses?
ReplyDeleteAn 'eye' is a letter, or a vowel, or part of a rebus. I don't know, I've tried all sorts of things.
ReplyDeleteIs it anything to do with 'eye' as in 'I' or 'me'?
ReplyDeleteeye is part of our body, but this is not an answer.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Clodagh, it's a letter.
ReplyDeleteNow, read the text (especially the last part) and find your answer.
I'm giving up for tonight, come again tomorrow, thank you and leave lots of hints ;) good luck
ReplyDelete@Clodagh: It's a letter and a vowel............. look for it.
ReplyDeleteEven tried 'ewhye'. Hmmph.
ReplyDeletelvl 10!
ReplyDeleteAnd an egg
ReplyDeleteS/T is that you in the egg?
ReplyDeleteLol, yep Zoran, I'm in that egg. But forget about the pic, focus on the Text.
ReplyDeletelevel 11- dot not????
ReplyDelete@Clodagh: You want what's BEFORE your 'eyes'
ReplyDeleteI've got to go, I'm on 11, hope you are all way past me when I get back so I can learn from your questions.
ReplyDeleteOops, sorry Enzed, that was a cipher I didn't cover in the Prequels.
ReplyDeletePigpen.
Wow, that last clue got it for me Cee Bee - thank you! I was concentrating just on the last bit - I didn't realise that I was looking for what came before ALL the 'eyes'!
ReplyDelete@me2, before you live, help us with lvl10
ReplyDeleteYahoo!! Clodagh!!
ReplyDeletedoes the egg mean I need to go back, or is it level 10 Part 2?
ReplyDeleteLike Tim said, you have to go back.
ReplyDeleteleave,
ReplyDeletewell I've read up on PP but don't see how everything I need is in the pic- hmmmm!
ReplyDelete@Tim: It's level 10 part 2, you need another answer. I'm trying to think of the best way to help.
ReplyDelete@enzed: If you look you'll see some symbols have dots others do not
Tired now - back again tomorrow. Nighty night!
ReplyDeletearrgghhh, came back to try my idea for level 8 but I didn't get enough vowels to form a word.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to me.
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say that I have no idea where to go with this level 11. I thought I needed some kind of reference grid for PP, the phrase underneath gives dots but no position so I suspect I'm up completely the wrong tree
ReplyDelete@enzed: maybe this will help
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pigpen_cipher
Any more hints for level 1 please?
ReplyDeleteJo-Ann: 3 vowels in the answer for lvl 8
ReplyDeleteNow... As a present for my birthday, a small clue for lvl 10 egg would be great :D
ReplyDeleteAargh, I can't stay away. Hint for 12 please?
ReplyDelete@Jo-Ann on level 8 the answer will spell out as you find the right words(letters). It's a 9 letter word, one letter for each replaced word in the text.
ReplyDeleteHi all !! Good luck !!
ReplyDelete@Me2: I'm stuck there too - have been for a while
ReplyDeleteAh- I needed directions- in this case literally:)
ReplyDeletefor 12 : first look at the numbers carefully
ReplyDeleteCome on guys, level 12 was covered in the very first level of the lectures. Remember Prequel 1, level 1?
ReplyDeleteAnd if you don't, do the numbers on top to alphabet.
Robin, dont know what hints are already here ,didnt have time to check , but do you recognise the flag ? convert
ReplyDeletelvl 10 please
ReplyDeleteZoran- if you're at the egg you might need to reverse one screen
ReplyDeleteZoran , you do recognise the code ,no ? do it a little differently ,not as you read
ReplyDelete@CeeBee thanks for the hint. I know I have made a mistake but am on the right track.
ReplyDeleteWill have to check in later.
I've been looking at first letters for level 12 for over an hour and am still not getting anywhere. I've looked in the text, the newspaper article and anywhere else I can find - I'm totally frustrated and know I'll be even more so when I finally see it. I need a flourescent light.
ReplyDeleteceebee ,on the english text but dont forget smt !!
ReplyDeletegot it. thanks
ReplyDeleteGetting closer... made a word of the last 4 letters! (level 8)
ReplyDeleteS-T you are evil.... I should be getting so many things done and yet here I am, sneaking back to play!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletelvl 10: the title clearly says what to do, right?! but that leads you to the egg...
ReplyDeleteand granmaa doesn't seem to work.
I've got the letters in 12 but not managed to actually come up with the answer- what am I missing?
ReplyDeletecasual , look at the titles 1st letters carefully
ReplyDeletedoh! got it
ReplyDeleteGo, go, go Enzed, you're doing great :)
ReplyDelete13 was :)
ReplyDelete14 has me stumped- but thanks for the encouragement
14 is a very basic alphabet/cipher.
ReplyDeleteThe triangle is a 'very poor' hint for what alphabet.
Woohoo did it on my own! onto level 9
ReplyDeletelvl 12 what about Russian text?
ReplyDeleteWow, still stuck on 12. When you say text do you mean newspaper text or the english above or below it?
ReplyDeleteHelpp on level 7, i know it is referring to states from USA but dont know wich ones to pick..
ReplyDeleteOh, I got sentence, hang on.
ReplyDelete@grego: You need the ones that only have four.
ReplyDeleteGrego, find the three with only four letters
ReplyDeleteLevel 12 is only about the English text.
ReplyDeleteI have a six word sentence, am I on the right track?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteYep Me2, you're on the right track.
ReplyDeleteNow do it again!!! like that sentence tells you to do.
yes me 2
ReplyDeleteNever even gotten one of these puzzles. Am I getting close with "hellometowelc" on level one?
ReplyDeleterds, did you notice the capital letters of the text ? then look the last comments above
ReplyDeletei looked at the title of level 10. all i can see is the obvious.
ReplyDeletei tried to read backwards, granmaa and tons of stuff (btw: "hgaodagaf" is the squence of 1st letters from titles 1-9).
i'm just writing this, because i'm hoping for a POP...
Vance Noonan,
ReplyDeleteYou got all the letters correct, but somehow you made them into a different order.
I have not idea about lvl 12. I am totally stuck.
ReplyDelete@Vance Noonan: very close! you have all the correct letters, just the wrong order.
ReplyDeletecasual , you said "read backwards" but what ??
ReplyDeleteoh now. I think know what you mean @new. I will check that out
ReplyDelete15 is getting me frustrated and nauseous at the same time- having to stare at the large picture is not doing my stomach any favours. I know who they all are, I know what the 4 titles are, I have read the "clue" and yet........,
ReplyDeletefinally onto 11! a huge thank you!
ReplyDeleteHaha, first word of my sentence was only three letters not seven. Finally got it!
ReplyDeleteEnzed,
ReplyDeleteThe text (when using basic tricks) told you what A and B stands for.
Answer is a 4 letter word.
I'm stumped with Lv 8, partially due to not being able to tell which words are American and which aren't. (The curse of being an American who enjoys watching Top Gear!)
ReplyDeleteCasual said there are 3 vowels, but I'm only finding 2.
What I'm guessing at right now:
POSSIBLE SPOILER???
mbstawash
END POSSIBLE SPOILER???
Which I can't make a word out of at all.
Good night people. See yo tomorrow (today).
ReplyDeletewelldone casual !!
ReplyDeleteHa! I was reading bottom to top. I guess I shouldn't ignore him when he says don't worry about it being written upside down.
ReplyDelete@Viridian: you have 3 mistakes. bs is wrong and the first a is also not correct.
ReplyDeletenausea over- thanks!
ReplyDeleteviridian, you have 3 letters wrong , theres a page where you can find the different words
ReplyDeleteEnzed, you're pulling away from the pack. Glad you found 13 easy. I have the sentence and that's it.
ReplyDeleteLevel 2: coincidence that "in the end" anagrams to "I need hint"? Guess I'll go back and look at level 2 hints!
ReplyDeleteWell done Enzed!! Don't forget to help the rest of us catch up :)
ReplyDelete@veridian: your second, third, and fifth letters are wrong.
ReplyDeletewhere are you now Cee Bee?
ReplyDeleteI'm on 13 Enzed - Like Me2, I have a sentence, nothing more
ReplyDeletea bigger hint on level 10 please, i got to the egg, and went back but have no idea what to do next.
ReplyDeletethe sentence is correct- especially the first part of it
ReplyDeleterds- re-read what you have just written and follow your own instruction!
ReplyDeleterds665, did you try going backwards?
ReplyDeleteOkay, so granny's involved with level 10. Got it now, on to 11!
ReplyDelete(And why the heck did it log me in as Viridian earlier? I haven't used that account in ages!)
cee bee- there was a comment made about question 1 that we all knew the answer anyway- you could say the same thing about 13.
ReplyDeletethanks, pop finally,
ReplyDeleteCeeBee, for 13, be sure you are seeing everything
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that I'm only on level 16 and stuck (again!)
ReplyDeleteThis is going to take forever to finish all the levels:(
ceebee, 2 very basic things done in riddles , for 13
ReplyDeleteDespite all the hints, I'm still not progressing on 13 :(
ReplyDeleteI think CeeBee and I have done the first basic thing to get the sentence. Granny doesn't seem to want to play, no numbers, feel like I'm missing something very obvious but what...
ReplyDeleteEnzed,
ReplyDeleteThe pic and title are telling you something about letters in the text.
CeeBee, as always it's nice to be stuck with you :)
ReplyDeleteTY Me2 :)
ReplyDeleteI think I crashed & burned around level 9 LOL!!
for 13 , 1)find smt hidden 2) first things first
ReplyDeleteST- that was something I tried which gives me up to around 13 letters but they don't seem to lead me anywhere
ReplyDeleteEnzed,
ReplyDeleteOnly one letter from every word.
Try to find a site if you are not certain.
Off to eat dinner (udon noodle soup), CeeBee leave me a strong hint when you figure it out.
ReplyDeleteCeeBee, for 13, Im sure you know how to 'control a' keyboard. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteAfter all the hand-holding I got 13 - I truly was being dense and making things far too complicated mea culpa!
ReplyDeleteOn 13 i have an answer made from the numbers, thenthanks to Clio ;) i found a two word hidden but dont know how that can help me...
ReplyDeletewell done CB- now hurry up and help me with 16 will you! I'm sure you'll fly through 14 & 15
ReplyDelete@Grego: Don't overcomplicate it like I did............. look at the title and what you found hidden and apply the first things first rule.
ReplyDeleteenzed, sometimes letters are quiet
ReplyDeleteyes Donas- I have ten of them but haven't made an answer that works
ReplyDeleteOh and believe in your answer! (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).
ReplyDeleteenzed, 10 is enough, 2 words
ReplyDeleteSo..the whole list of words next to each number is not important..?
ReplyDeleteLevel 6, I have the answer but i'm still trying to understand what the directions meant. They turned out to be:
ReplyDeleteWE - upside down
WS - flip to the left
EN - flip to left
NE - flip to the right
NS - upside down (i think)
EE - ? (but it didn't really matter)
Does anyone understand what the NESW letters meant? I thought directions but still don't understand it.
donas- are there any clues going as to how to make these words from my letters. Anags don't seem to work and I can almost just read a word (say what you see style) with the first 8 letters but nothing is working overall
ReplyDeleteenzed, it should anagram, maybe check your letters again
ReplyDeleteenzed ,10 letters and anagram ,maybe you have to check your letters again?
ReplyDeleteGot it! onto 14! thankss :D
ReplyDeletec0fe, use the number of degrees and the direction between the letters to know how to rotate
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteenzed, E is wrong
ReplyDeleteTY!
ReplyDeleteSorry Donna, I guess I still don't understand, do you mean like 90 degrees or 180 degrees?
ReplyDeletei dont know what i am looking for at level 15 i have laready oogled each pic and have every info...
ReplyDeleteGrego, for 15, Read the text under the pic. First things first after all.
ReplyDeletec0fe, yes, like 90° or 180°
ReplyDeletebye bye all ,see you tomorrow , good luck !!
ReplyDeleteGrego, how'd you do 14 so quick :)
ReplyDelete@Me2 look at the shape where the drawings are ;)
ReplyDeleteI have the two word thing from the text and everyinf from the images..but what is next? doing again first thingsfirst wont help
Hi again Me2 - what level are you on now?
ReplyDeleteI'm on 14, just got back. How about you?
ReplyDeleteGrego, notice the band in the background of the pic and how that band spells their name?
ReplyDeleteI'm on 15
ReplyDeleteI'm on 15 - know all the albums and artists - saw the clue in the text, know the band in the background and still can't figure it out
ReplyDeleteThnks Clio Forgot to say i had the name of the background band, tryed to take firsts and second letters as the band name tells and nothing...
ReplyDeleteGrego, find something else to use for the 2 letters you have
ReplyDeleteCouple of hours away and I came up with 2! The subconscious mind is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGrego and Ceebee. Do you see any correlation between what you were asked to find, and how the background band spells their name?
ReplyDeleteHow many letters on 15 - just 4?
ReplyDeleteGot itt thankyou!! onto 16! :D
ReplyDeletejust 4 letters for 15
ReplyDeleteyes- just 4
ReplyDelete@Ceebee Yesp ;) just 4
ReplyDelete@Ceebee Yesp ;) just 4
ReplyDeleteI've still got nothing on 14. Initial letters of objects? Initial letters of sentences?
ReplyDelete@Me2 Forget about the text that counfuses, look at the shape where the symbols are in, you will know what to do ;)
ReplyDeleteMe2, for 14, the picture tells you everything you need. Where would you find a pyramid?
ReplyDeletewhere you left it- they're pretty big you know.....
ReplyDeleteSorry(:
For level 17, i think i know to wich level to go back, i try using the page title (three letters) but dont know what to look for.
ReplyDeleteGrego, for 17, you need more than 1 level
ReplyDeleteDid you find the code for 14 Me2?
ReplyDeleteGot ittt onto 18 :D had to go back :P in more than one level
ReplyDeleteHi Grego- w.d. you're doing better than me- I'm stuck with trawling through old levels blindly
ReplyDeleteenzed, focus on the first word in the pic
ReplyDelete@Enzed: And you're doing better than me :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to find the correct silent letters.
well Donas replied quickly enzed :P 6 levels in total
ReplyDeleteWhat should i do on level 18? i think i get the reason of the image with the circles, but what with calcium?
Grego, if you have the meaning of the image, then use it
ReplyDeleteno- still no idea what I'm looking for at all
ReplyDeleteEnzed,
ReplyDeletePrimary is/sounds like???
2, 3 5 etc
I was nowhere near that one!
ReplyDeleteHintss for 19 ! :D jeje I'm sure that Caesar is speaking srunk for a reason.....
ReplyDeleteneed more help on level 12, the hints posted are not helping
ReplyDelete18- we seem to be in double meanings of degrees and pi but I'm not sure where to take it
ReplyDeletepinkgirl- have you made any progress with it?
ReplyDeleteEnzed,
ReplyDelete18 is all about picking letters (no anagram).
no
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on level 12 too.
ReplyDeleteFound a sentence: a****** t*** t* a***** i* n*****
but then i don't know how to apply it
Morgana
ReplyDeletetake a look at what you have written
Morgana - look closely at what you just posted... ;)
ReplyDeletepinkgirl9688 and Morgana Queiroz,
ReplyDeleteDo what you did again!
I don't know what Morgana Queiroz did. I have know idea how to get that sentence
ReplyDeleteThanks @enzed and @rbud57!
ReplyDeleteI hope to catch up with you all
PinkG
ReplyDeleteyou don't need the sentence- just look at what Morgana has written
on level 13, still don't understand level 12 though, thx for help
ReplyDeletecalling it quits for the night, be back tomorrow
ReplyDeleteWow, started 10 hours behind, now stuck on 14. I'd still be on #8 w/o the hints!
ReplyDeleteGot the right language, got 5 letters, can't rot them or granny them. What am I missing?
@Just1 - Check your letters, they should granny
ReplyDeleteJust1,
ReplyDeleteJust 5 letters to decipher (no anagram). It's the ancient alphabet in that country with those big, big, pyramids.
Hints for 17 please.
ReplyDeleteI don't know which levels i have to go back to
Morgana Queiroz,
ReplyDeleteThink ´prime´
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@CeeBee, thx but still doesn't work, even substituting e for i
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm using the wrong site - I'll look some more
Just came back, got 14 (can't believe I completely missed it) and laughed at Enzed's comment at 7:53.
ReplyDeletelevel 13 is giving me a headache .. any more clues?
ReplyDeleteClose to 400 comments, so new comments will be on the next page
ReplyDeleteLittle lost on 15. Clio's clue at 7:25 isn't helping any...I know the artists, I know the albums, I know about that stupid little flipped B, but I'm getting nowhere. :[
