@xaq: Good catch on how to arrange the letters, I didn't think of that. Still stuck, though.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not coming up with a word on level 27, I have letters annggsi, and granny is coming up with nothing
ReplyDelete@pink, not sure where the "s" came from, but thats the wrong letter
ReplyDeletegot level 27, had audrey hepburn's birthplace wrong
ReplyDeleteat a loss on 31. i see the first set of three letters. dont know where to look for the others.
ReplyDelete36: I used the numbers forward (and backward) to pick letters from the ordered list and still get nothing that works.
ReplyDeleteI'm missing something, but don't know what it is. Are we sure the list is correct?
on lvl29, are the red letters for letterpicking, ROT, or something else?
ReplyDeletei know singer, song, animals, foods .. the obvious has yet to jump off the screen at me ..
I must have something mislabeled in my list, because regardless of which N-item I put in which spot, nothing I'm getting leads to a pile of letters granny can work with. :[
ReplyDeleteapologies .. those are red numbers on lvl29, not letters.
ReplyDeleteUnknow, use the red numbers to pick letters, use the weird song to tell you what to call the animals
ReplyDeleteCandi the list you posted was correct. I think you're missing a step. do the basic rue with your list, visit granny and then I think you'll be able to proceed
ReplyDelete@donas, Thank you for the hint. With that much meat, i thought the answer might be barbeque, but no such luck.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, I found a four letter word that didn't. Am I on the right track?
nvm, figured it out .. used the wrong word for one of the animals
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out which weird al song to use?
ReplyDeletepinkgirl, google the lyrics to find the orginal
ReplyDeletehalfway done and calling it quits for the night, thx for all the help
ReplyDelete@Cee Bee: The light came on!
ReplyDeleteI visited Granny with my first letters and got a word that is more appropriate for the list (i-------s). So I rearranged my list.
I applied the numbers to this new list and got nothing that works.
I found the people the word indicated, arranged them according to the pattern of both words (t---v----- and i-------s), used the numbers, visited Granny, and still have nothing.
I feel so close!
Candi, just use them clockwise in the order you see them
ReplyDeletelvl30: are we to cut up the image and reassemble it much like the triangle with the question on it from earlier level? That's kind of what I gather from the earlier comments for this level.
ReplyDeleteunknown, no need to cut it. Do you know what B you need?
ReplyDeleteStill stuck on 36.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm supposed to be going with a "pick the Nth letter of the word" method with those numbers, I can't be using the items in clockwise order; when I get to the 6, I'm on a 4-letter word.
In any case, no matter how I use this method, I'm not getting anything...am I supposed to be ROTting the words instead?
xaq, sounds like you are missing a step, did you anagram first letters of the items for a hint?
ReplyDeleteDonas: You mean Candi was on the right track with the i*******s idea?
ReplyDeleteYes xaq, Candi's on the right track
ReplyDelete@donas - i thought i knew, from a mathematical point of view, but seeing as all the other puzzles have been deceptive, im not sure at this point
ReplyDeleteAH! I think I got it now! *tries answer he comes up with*
ReplyDeleteYES!! Thanks guys! On to 37!
Thanks to y'all, I finally got it!
ReplyDelete/(^.^)/ |(^.^)| \(^.^)\
@xaq: Haha! We got it at the same time! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose you've got any ideas of what to do with 37, Candi?
ReplyDeleteAlso, for everyone else: Is the spiel inside the +/- actually as useless as it claims? (I hope so, because I can barely read it!)
Unknown, it isn't what it looks like, find a way to "feel it"
ReplyDelete@xaq, no the text in the pic is not important
ReplyDelete@xaq:
ReplyDeleteSadly, I threw my remaining brain cells at it and got nothing.
So I'm going to bed :)
Thanks Morgana. However, I think Candi's got the right idea...I'll pick this one up after class and homework tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteG'night everyone.
Good morning everyone.
ReplyDeletelvl 33 make me headache.
ReplyDelete@donas - thank you. wasn't what i was originally thinking .. obviously another deceptive puzzle.
ReplyDeleteglad to be past it.
got lvl33, on lvl34
ReplyDeleteStuck on 32. I see 9 letters with different possibilities, but must be missing something.
ReplyDeleteAre lowercase letters allowed?
Any hints?
Pinhead,
ReplyDeleteIt's not an anagram and there's a logic way why which of the tree top lines go on a letter and why another of the top lines goes on another letter.
Starts with F
What about on lvl 34, granny baked me a cake but still nothing.
ReplyDeleteLevel 34 is no anagram
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the alphabet.
There are two kind of letters in the alphabet (a big group and a small group).
I feel like a complete numbskull, but honestly I have'nt got a clue about lvl 25. Ive tried converting times to alphabet using both a 12 hour time thing and a 24 hour time thing. Ive tried to make letters out of the hands of the clocks. Ive tried to find something in the title or text because it mentions first a couple of times. I think my brain packed up and left in fear of doing another level of small's riddle.
ReplyDeleteclio_rose, you have to use numbers but not in time mode, just single digits. And after you get a word, think rebus and google.
ReplyDeleteThank you Morgana. I will work on that. .........if only i knew what you meant...lol. just joking. I will think some more. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteStill stumped by lvl 32. Am I right in looking for a word of 9 letters?
ReplyDeletelast letter can only be: s
The one before last: g or y
2nd, 3rd and 5th: a o b n
6th: m w
PinHead,
ReplyDeleteAlready said the first is F.
The second letter is A.
Now try to see the logic if you look at the three lines on top.
Thanks ST!
ReplyDeleteMy problem was not noticing that D looks like O!!!
On to 33!
Is the letter "f" on the same place as the letter "e" in the original word cage or the order can change? Because i only got an lvl 40 egg #1with what i came up with and now i am stuck.
ReplyDeleteZoran, you need to know why E=F, what position is E in the alphabet?
ReplyDelete37: I think I get how to add and subtract, but I'm not getting anything from Granny with the letters. I've tried additions only, subtractions only, both, alternating.... nothing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Morgana. Finally understood your hint and what a good hint it was. Thank you again. On to 26.
ReplyDeleteCandi,
ReplyDeleteDon't use all the letters at once with Granny. It's a two words word.
With just subtractions (or additions), I got a 2- and 4-letter word. But they didn't work.
ReplyDeleteI'm just not seeing how to pick the right groups of letters to send to Granny.
You should get two 5 letter words
ReplyDeleteCandi, if you've added and subtracted right, top will give a word and so will the bottom
ReplyDeleteHmm... I'd tried every combination of the 3 words I'd gotten and none of them worked.
ReplyDeleteThey were m---d from the top, and m---d or t---d from the bottom.
The adding and subtracting seemed so straightforward. Maybe I did it wrong?
The very first letter you should get by adding would be an i
ReplyDeleteI am stuck in the cage.
ReplyDeleteZoran,
ReplyDeleteE is the Fifth letter in the alphabet.
OMG. i was totally over thinking...again. Tnx
ReplyDeleteCandi, first try converting each word to numbers
ReplyDeletelvl 34:
ReplyDeleteI tried taking the matching C and V's with the title, and even the mismatching ones to no avail.
All I get is a goo of letters.
Hints (other than what C and V stand for)?
I am really stuck on 34, i know what c and v stands for in the basic alphabet, just cant figure out how to apply it to get an answer,
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Thanks! My thinking was in an entirely different direction :)
ReplyDeletefor level 34, once you know what C and V stand for, count for a position
ReplyDeleteStill stuck on 31. That's where it probably ends for me, i'm a bit braindead now:). I made it halfway with a lot of help from all your hints, thanks all. The next half is probably out of my league.
ReplyDeleteThank you small-tool for this great riddle.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDutchie, hope you decide to continue. For 31 look only at the title of the text in the picture, the 3 lines give 3 letters using M**** C***,
ReplyDeletethen in the same place, first things first for 3 more letters
Lvl 36... I arranged my words to get t--- v---- and also i-------s and when i tried applying the numbers on both, i keep getting letters that granny can't work with, and I have a feeling I am missing something really simple
ReplyDeleteI am a latecomer to the riddle and would appreciate a hint for lvl 17 I know which levels to look back at but not sure what to look for when I do thanks
ReplyDeleteZoran for level 36, order the I*******s just like they are on the circle, start at 12 and go CW
ReplyDeleteladysue, if you have the right numbers, use the titles
ReplyDeleteZoran,
ReplyDeletet--- v---- anagrammed is the same as i-------s (double hint for the same thing)
Google/find them and then use your numbers.
That is what I did and got 8 letters but cannot get a word from them am I on the wrong track thanks
ReplyDeleteLadysue,
ReplyDeleteYou should get 6 letters and it's not an anagram.
S/T and Donas, thanks to both, got it!
ReplyDeletegood evening all, an after dinner dip is spoiling my progress. Don't get what/where to count on lvl 34. Know what c v means.
ReplyDeleteIke, maybe separating the C and V will help you see what to pick
ReplyDeleteIke,
ReplyDeleteInterpret CC as second C.
Etc.
well, that did it ! Thank you both
ReplyDeletetfsf, nor tosf work on the cage, am i using the right basic method?
ReplyDeleterds665,
ReplyDeleteBy now you should know about granny :P
Thankyou for the help on 17 I had a senior moment and was using the wrong levels duh!
ReplyDeletei need granny on 35 s-t?
ReplyDeleteYep rds665,
ReplyDeleteYou already have the correct 4 letters.
got it as soon as i posted, thanks s-t
ReplyDelete38: I've stared, pondered, visited Granny, and can't get a foothold. Hints?
ReplyDeleteCandi, there is a big hint that you can read down the right side. You need to make 2 new grids using that, they will have 9 rows, then the yellow letters give a hint for how to read your new grids
ReplyDelete@Donas, the grids... do both grids have 9 rows each or they have 9 rows together? I simply cant wrap my mind around it, though I see the hint but... i cant go anywhere from that point
ReplyDeleteZoran, both new grids will have 9 rows, bee sure to feel your way through making them
ReplyDeleteZoran,
ReplyDeleteYou should get 2 grids both with 9 rows.
Wow. Um...
ReplyDeleteThe hint seems to imply a certain cipher. If I exclude the letters from the hint, I can use that cipher to make a grid with those letters. But what of the question marks?
I'm still not sure that I see it... (pun intended)
Crap, now I gotta catch up to Candi again.
ReplyDeleteI think I get S-T's hint on the first line's first word converting to an I, though. When I tried the method I suspect is correct on the rest of the first line, the 5 letters I got spell out a body part.
Now to see what I get with the second line going the other way.
Candi,
ReplyDeleteYou can do the same with the questionmarks as you did with the letters!
Hehe, nailed it! Thanks for the help, S-T. Now let's see if I can get ahead of Candi here. :]
ReplyDeletei must not have the correct words on 36, can someone please tell me what the beaker is supposed to be, and what the elastic face is supposed to be, cause the i........ s i found arent working
ReplyDeleteI tried to make 2 grids using the letters from the hint, and I did but putting letters and question marks in.. I literally can't see how to do it or make any sense out of it
ReplyDelete@rds665:
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the face either. I used a ? with Granny in it's place. But the beaker picture will give you a very specific form of the substance. Just google the generic one and you'll get what you're looking for.
Zoran,if you re talking about 36 ,do you read smt (4th column),its a hint !
ReplyDeleteWell, I've got the grids put together for 37...not seeing how the yellow letters are supposed to help me read this, though.
ReplyDeleteI think we are all talking about lvl 38 :p
ReplyDeleteI have problems with how to put the letters in, i see the hint and everything, and made the grids but it doesnt make any sense
rds, elastic works and try to cut the pics for googling ,if you dont know how to do it ,i can tell you what it is (hard for me to describe how to do it )
ReplyDeleteany push in the right direction on how to even start on lvl 37 is very welcome.
ReplyDeleteErr, yeah, Zoran's right, 38. My mistake. X_x;;
ReplyDeletefor 38 there are 2 hints ,4th column says about B...... and the yellow letters say TWO
ReplyDeletefor 37, convert the letters
ReplyDeleteike: You've got 2 math symbols in the image, and 2 lines of poetry(?) in the text.
ReplyDeleteTry applying the old letter/number substitution idea to things, then apply what's in the picture to what you get.
As S-T said earlier, you (and granny) should get 2 5-letter words. The first letter you should get in the first row is i.
i have tried that candi, but for some reason google cant find a matching picture of glass beaker or the liquid in it.
ReplyDeleteDo I need to include the 4th column in the grids I made, or is that there merely as a clue?
ReplyDelete@xaq - thx gonna try something
ReplyDeleterds, its nylon
ReplyDeletexaq, you need all the letters !
@rds: It's a beaker containing aliphatic polyamides discovered in 1935 ;)
ReplyDelete@xaq: I left off the last column, but don't know if it's right...
@new: Two, like, two letters can be read across?
I gotta refresh before writing :)
ReplyDeleteMy idea doesn't work if we need all the letters...
Wait! Do we use the other B alphabet?
ReplyDeleteI think this is it for me. Everything has been clear until now but I don't think I can continue, my brain shut down.
ReplyDeleteGood job S/T, you made an amazing riddle and thanks everyone for your help throughout.
It has been fun. :)
TWO is hinting to use the other B
ReplyDeleteStuck in 20
ReplyDeleteI read the tracks of this forum, but I still do not understand how to count. Anyone can help me? Thanks
candi, TWO smt very often used in riddles (base) but first you need to have changed the letters (1st hint)to B......
ReplyDeleteHello everyone!
ReplyDeleteI've been solving this awesome riddle but didn't bother to ask questions up until now... I am stuck on lvl 38 badly, and after reading all your comments... Everything is still a blur. Desperate for help
pichi, for 20, same method as on 19 ,but different (rot)for every letter, use the words of the text
ReplyDeletefor 38, we usually convert the B..... alphabet to english letters ,here the opposite is needed (thats for starting, when you do this smt else is needed)
ReplyDeletethank you New, got it
ReplyDeletefor 38, after you have applied the "two" hint, then look at the placement of the yellow letters and remember level 32, you only need 3 letters from the top and 3 from the bottom
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteFor 38.
ReplyDeleteYou make a new grid with the last column hint.
Then the TWO is used. How? Did you notice on your new grid the rows are 8 long now? Does that ring a bell combined with 2.
You will get 6 letters from the new grid you made. Yep only 1 letter from every 3 rows you made from a letter. Which row from every 3? Use logic.
Okay, I must be on the wrong track here.
ReplyDeleteTook the letters, made a grid by converting them to B*****e, even the question marks.
Then I took each row of what I ended up with and converted that to B****y, and tried converting that to text.
I ended up with total gibberish.
lvl 37 after I find the two words, do I have to use the same method again?
ReplyDeletenew: but with the number of jumps of 19? or I have to count anything here?
ReplyDeleteYahooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteWe should have a party after 38!
I actually feel my brain getting stronger w/ all this work :)
Pichi,
ReplyDeleteCount letters in every word.
Xaq,
You're on the right track for sure.
It's just not every row you need.
Yeah, I just realized that after reading your post. I tried a little logic on it, and wound up with a name I recognized, answered the question on the bottom, and nailed it!
ReplyDeleteOn to 39!
pichi ,use the words of the sentence, how many letters each one has
ReplyDeleteike, not sure which 2 words you mean ,if you ve done what the pic says you have the answer (2 words)
xaq,not all the rows to b....y ,notice that the letters are separated in groups 3 rows each, small-tool has posted a comment above very helpful
oops too late , congrats !
ReplyDeleteThanks new and small-tool Done!
ReplyDeleteThere's only one thing that's unclear. Am I supposed to change every letter in the picture to b-----e or just the letters from the hint?
ReplyDeleteGot a little bit lost in all the comments, my brain is overheating slowly
syl, all the letters to b.....e
ReplyDeleteSyl Vardainiel,
ReplyDeleteEvery letter.
lvl 39: is the upside down flag significant?
ReplyDeletenot important
ReplyDeleteOh god that was intense!
ReplyDeleteFinally! Onward! :))
For 39, would anyone be so kind to give me a link to the picture? There's no way I can see it.
ReplyDeletelvl39 (again): b****y isn't working this time
ReplyDeleteTried first things first on several word groups, granmaa doesnt seem to want to help. Anyone have a subtle hint? (or maybe not so subtle)?
Pic level 39
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/OqoSwXn.jpg
if anybody is experiencing no pic then just open the pic in a new tab and replace lower case letters with capitals
ReplyDeleteUnknown,
ReplyDeleteLevel 39 is about picking letters. One from every word.
Still stuck on level 3
ReplyDeleteHave them all across
Dont know what initials to use
Help!
Joe M,
ReplyDeleteUse Granny with the first letters of their names.
AARGH!
ReplyDeleteGot it with grannys help
Forgot that there were 2 in the boat on each trip!
This does not bode well for the next 57 questions....
Hopelessly stuck on lvl 8. Got the letters ammotwcst but I can't figure out which ones are wrong and why! Please help.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHoly,
ReplyDeleteOne M, one T and the C is wrong.
But if you follow the text order it's no anagram.
@s-t: it is an 8 letter answer, isnt it?
ReplyDeleteI see a hint in the list of words provided, but that wasnt the answer, so I used that word as a clue to other sets of words - not finding anything that works.
Unknown,
ReplyDeleteYou're on the right track.
It is 8 letters and no anagram
Look at first letters and you know how to pick letters.
So I should be looking for silent letters, not British words?
ReplyDeleteSorry Holly,
ReplyDeleteI messed up. That was for level 16.
But bookmark it, you can use it there :)
@s-t: thats what i tried. i got "F" as first letter the first time, and "L" the second time, neither of which seems to make anything valid.
ReplyDeleteTrying another approach. We'll see if it works.
Unknown,
ReplyDeleteDon't translate!
First letter should be B.
Should I be changing British terms to American terms?
ReplyDelete@s-t: Thank you for the extra push in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteYes Holly :)
ReplyDeleteStuck on 7 now
ReplyDeleteS-T This is awesome
I will be 600 when i finish but what a great job!
Thanks, s-t, got it by guessing after I got the last 4 letters.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe and glad you like it :)
ReplyDeleteThe word US in the text is with caps as a hint.
Have the 3 states with 4 X s in them stuck on the ooo is a conversion!
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteText tells you, you only need two out of the three :)
With the correct two you have 3 O's that you have to make an A and then granny.
lvl 40: i dont see any clues yet - is anyone else this far, or further?
ReplyDeletenothing obvious comes to mind, although it looks like the symbols should be cut up and rearranged. any ideas?
Thought I had trhe states but I was wrong
ReplyDeletePOP
ReplyDeleteI am so dumb
Thanx
@Unknown:
ReplyDeleteI got the first egg and am back to the drawing board.
@candi, whereabouts did you find this egg?
ReplyDeleteUnknown, for level 40, each of the symbols gives a letter, some are written in unusual ways, some have parts missing, the upper left is an ancient alphabet, try a few things and see what you get
ReplyDeleteLevel 8
ReplyDeleteI am English but live here in the US
FINALLY
an easy one for me
Not even granny needed
Check the images on Red Luth's page and you'll pick out the first two.
ReplyDeleteThe next one I googled something along the lines of "code alphabet" or "cipher alphabet" and among the images I found something that looked like the third. (A visual way of representing a code we know.)
I just flat stared at the last one till I counted and realized what I had.
Sent all this wonderful work to Granny, plugged it into the box w/ a feeling of triumph, and got a big fat goose egg :)
Unknown, make that the upper right part is ancient, sorry!
ReplyDeletethank you candi and donas: so far got the upper right. yay!
ReplyDeletehad a different cipher page open, did not know about red's.
back to staring some more.
Am @ level 10
ReplyDeleteWill stop for now
Will try more tomorrow pm
Candi, maybee try looking at the whole picture for the last one
ReplyDeleteI am stuck on 38, translated to b.....e, then i think i did it to b....y correctly, but not getting anywhere, got gibberish and kermit, neither of them works... a little help please.
ReplyDeleterds665,
ReplyDeleteRead title and text.
You´re so very close.
@Donas:
ReplyDeleteThanks! Second egg discovered :)
I hear that if you do not pass lvl38 you are subject to Capital punishment in some places.
ReplyDeletewow, thanks small tool, forgot about those after spending so much time in translation
ReplyDeletelvl 40: think ive found the upper right and bottom ones now.
ReplyDeletetrying really really hard to use everyones hints to find the others.
can i go back to lvl1, where things were easier?
Unknown: If you've done the bottom left on 40, the one above it should be easy - same principle
ReplyDeleteunknown, for the upper left, try holding your arms like it shows and look on Red Luth
ReplyDelete@cee bee - thank you .. 3 down, still looking for upper left on reds page ..
ReplyDelete@donas, thank you .. was too busy looking for the actual symbol, not something similar.
ReplyDeleteAm I looking for another overall code? I tried Samuel's, added it to the info from the second egg, but still didn't make an omelette.
ReplyDeleteCandi: what ciphers/codes did you use?
ReplyDeleteCandi,
ReplyDeleteYou´re not looking for codes anymore.
You got your codes!!!!
Now it´s very basic riddling.
Close to 1.000 comments (thanks all very much :) ), so new comments on the next page
ReplyDelete@Everyone: Lol! I tried that before I had the last code, but didn't try it again :)
ReplyDeleteWell-done Candi!!
ReplyDelete@Cee Bee: Thanks :D
ReplyDeleteWhy am I confounded by 42?
ReplyDeleteI got the message. I followed the instructions. I can't find a number to work.
Candi,
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn´t find a number, but numbers.
No idea what to do on level 26. May I have a hint please?
ReplyDeletehmm. for lvl 36 i wrote the i......s down for the items like the "clock" and no matter what, using those numbers with the names in order from the top gives me absolutely nothing. am i to use first or last name? so aggrivated at myself cause i know its right before my eyes lol.
ReplyDeleteButterfly: use the surnames, then visit granny
ReplyDeleteOkay, time to get back at this...and I managed to work out 39 on my own! YAY!
ReplyDelete*crosses fingers and heads to 40*
