Small Tool Strife

Small Strife is a, 60 levels, riddle based game created by SmallTool for EG24. This is the real deal you've been practising for the last four days. No, fancy riddle stuff like exif, source, picture manipulation, url things etc. etc. Just your brain and basic riddle tricks. It will start easy (especially when you played the 4 prequels), but will slowly get harder. Anyway, have a lot of fun with it and help each other a lot in the comments but...

Note: Please do not post direct answers, start with hints and after that big hints or even very, very big hints!

  1. @Donas: Are the five "close family members", and indicate that I should use a cipher that's "a step up"? (I'm really trying with these obscure references :)

I tried it using the first things from the text, but didn't get anywhere...

    ReplyDelete
  2. @donas: i thought i was counting properly.

if first two letters are sitting on the baseline, third letter is 9 down, correct? is that where it becomes rotten?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Candi, the name of the "close family members" should work. I used this site, you might see something useful there. the pic is a good hint.

    http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/

    ReplyDelete
  4. Unknown, sounds like you have the right idea

    ReplyDelete
  5. finally - thank you for all the hints. that 6th letter adjustment is what kept messing me up.

    ReplyDelete
  6. @Donas: Uh-oh, I think my clever phrases overstated what I know :)

I was thinking that the bits in the picture sit next to one another, thus indicating that I should use a cipher that is rotten +1. But when I put the first things in, I got nada.

Now that I think about your last comment, I'm thinking that I'm back to needing to figure out what those 5 bits are so that I can use the rotten cipher literally indicated.

But, that cipher requires the letters be entered in a particular order. I dunno how to figure such a thing out...

    ReplyDelete
  7. Candi, I'm not sure where you are with this level, the pic is very important, try looking closely at the object you need

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think I'm heading back the the drawing board :)

    - I magnified the picture and have 5 letters
    - The text seems to indicate 7 letters (first things first)
    - I can't figure out how to use the 5 letters to decode the 7. Shouldn't their order matter to use a k----- c----- cipher?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Candi, if you found the right 5 letters, they have a 6 letter name, use that

    ReplyDelete
  10. After getting dragged out of the house for a while by friends, I can get back to 46.

Looking around, I found 16 words strung around the maze, either across or down, as well as a rather rudely-named item on Red Luth that I've never understood how to use. Anything else I should be looking for?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Donas: Thanks for your patience, got it!

    ReplyDelete
  12. xaq, try reading the maze starting at the top line, and finding more to make a longer sentence

Glad you got it Candi! I'm off for the night, good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ohhh, now I got it. Thanks Donas.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @xaq: Like s-t said, the sentence is longer than you think.

    Off for the night, too!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Got the path on 47, get that I'm going to have to make things a bit rotten later, saw the r** t***** hint towards the bottom, but I'm not getting the "hints from the exit" part of the clues.

    A little help?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Working on a theory here...am I using the part of the maze mentioned near the bottom as a reference point of some sort?

Also, I found 2 possible clues coming off the exit: r*** and h*****s. Is that important?

    ReplyDelete
  17. xaq, to start with, did you number the rows correctly?

    ReplyDelete
  18. lvl 50: Math yields numbers that are too big to handle. First things first yield nada. Hints?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Pinhead,
It's not maths (the text kind of tells you that).
What do the 5 rows of lines have in common? And what else is on the pic besides what looks like math operators and besides the words?

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ST, I had noticed the common thing between the lines.
Moreover, the 2 things that I can see besides the math operators and the words lead to mathematical operations as well :D

    ReplyDelete
  21. Pinhead,
The line at the bottom of the pic is a FreeWebs error, ignore it.
The other thing, don't look at it as math, but as just a (but important) shape.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The important shape coupled with the common thing between the lines leads to a song. A slight operation on the common thing leads to a haunted British townhouse!

    ReplyDelete
  23. on level 37. From the hints given I did the basics with the two lines of poetry and I thought I had worked out how the first letter became i but I was wrong, and everything I try just does not work. Any help would be appreciated

  25. 37 just add like top sign

49 have key but not what to use it on somebody says 7 letters from firsts but there is more !

    ReplyDelete
  26. @mtatt100, First things first without granny. You'll be amazed how you missed it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 50-well got 7 letters applying shapes but not the answer

    ReplyDelete
  28. level 37 thats what ive been doing but i am not getting anything im not even sure how to get the i. I must of missed out doing something. I am totally confused.

    ReplyDelete
  29. top line do top pic : bottom line do bottom pic :then visit granma

    ReplyDelete
  30. mtatt100 got it finally thank you for your help

    ReplyDelete
  31. 52-well don't see inside to outside have all words for outside to inside have a couple of ideas for inside to outside but not giving me anything

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  33. 50: I see the shape in the picture, but the only commonality I see among the lines is their length.... :-/

    ReplyDelete
  34. mtatt, one set of those words should look like it could direct you out, just go back outside

    ReplyDelete
  35. Candi, try dividing their length in another way

    ReplyDelete
  36. thanks got it and for others read Donas's post it gives good direction

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm stuck on level 18. I read all the clues but I'm still confused. Should I be looking at 3.14 to substitute letters for the numbers? If so, is A supposed to be C?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Holly, not substitute.......

    ReplyDelete
  39. Should I be using pi in the answer?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Holly, in a way. You can choose........

    ReplyDelete
  41. good evening, could use a push in the right direction for lvl 45. Found three 'instructions' but do I use all of them to count or just one?

    ReplyDelete
  42. holly us it to pick letters don't forget the title also

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ike, for level 45, one path tells you how to find your way out, starting at the entrance, count that F, then go that many steps to another letter, keep doing that and you'll be out

    ReplyDelete
  44. I was using 3.1415 to pick letters in the alphabet corresponding to those numbers. Then someone said to use the first number in the title as well--1? Am I on the right track?

    ReplyDelete
  45. @hollly: Not quite: just remember to start counting at the first letter of the title.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Donas: I've split the lines into strips based on the root. I've split the lines based on the property of the shape. I've even split the lines to make the first 5 of the series with the property of the shape. I almost got a word that time...

    Still mystified.

    ReplyDelete
  47. candi if you did fist bit then apply shape a pick

    ReplyDelete
  48. 47 i think i have counted all 14 correctly, but am a bit lost as to what i need to feed rotten to get the correct results

    ReplyDelete
  49. 47 you need a base line to count up from and down from

    ReplyDelete
  50. Candi, try to overlay that sign on your letters, will give a question, not just a word

    ReplyDelete
  51. lvl 45, what i have to counting, letters or empty spaces?

    ReplyDelete
  52. 5806, the key to know how to count on 45, is F=6

    ReplyDelete
  53. so start with C? Then for letters I get ecfcgkdh! Help!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Holly, you know what to use to pick letters with, start with the whole number and pick a letter from the title (3rd) , then do the same with the other numbers on the words in the text

    ReplyDelete
  55. @holly: "Code" has 4 letters. Given the first digit of your apple pie hint, which of those letters do you want to choose first? ('d'... :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. @donas I got 6,9,14,4, 1, etc.....Is that correct?

    ReplyDelete
  57. yes 5608 now start counting from entrance to find letters but the 1 won't be used use what you land on

    ReplyDelete
  58. @donas, sorry I didn't reply, my computer keeps throwing me out. Anyway, I can't find a way out of this maze. Thanks for your help though.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Morning everyone.

Looked like I had something going on 47 for a minute. First 4 letters ROTted to a Star Wars reference...then everything just went kerblargh.

Did I pick the wrong reference point to rot things from?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ike, the first letter to use is the F at the entrance, F=6, so go 6 steps to another letter, there is only 1 letter (i) that is 6 steps from F. Now, i = 9, so go 9 steps and you find the next letter, keep going like this until you get something useful. Hope this helps :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. xaq, sounds like maybe you are using the wrong reference line, F and A are on zero, so they don't change, the next letter is on row 9

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm not getting level 51. Pic 1 + pic 2 = ?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Lin, pic one will give you one word and pic 2 will give you another (last) word. Try to look at the word from pic 1 and see 54

    ReplyDelete
  64. @donas,correct me if I am wrong. 6,9,14,4,23,25,20,15,3,15,21,14,20,25,15,21,18,19,20,5,16,19, is this correct order? If yes, which direction, if not I will say Good By.

    ReplyDelete
  65. still pondering on lvl 50

    ReplyDelete
  66. Level 51 .
I see where the first number comes from but I don't get how it equals the second.

    ReplyDelete
  67. @donas, was trying all the wrong things. Thank you so much!

    ReplyDelete
  68. 5806, Remember Small-tool is tricky! It does start out 6,9,14,4. The D (4) will now take you 4 steps to E, take 5 steps now and you are on your way. No anagram needed. Hope this helps :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. LinR, for the second, use a very basic way to change 14 to a letter

    ReplyDelete
  70. Alright, I've had a hint, a big hint, and I'm back for another.

The shape is a s------, right? And I split each line into 3?

No amount of reading in circles is yielding words....

    ReplyDelete
  71. @donas I got i...........s, but nothing. What am I missing?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Candi, sounds like your shape is right, now overlay the symbol (+) beside the first set of letters. You might need to imagine it a little bigger so it fits on all lines, it will give 5 letters

    ReplyDelete
  73. 5806, Yay! you are missing the F, then read the level text again :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yep Candi,
And from your first shape/line you should pick 5 letters (no anagram).

    ReplyDelete
  75. I DON'T KNOW!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Thanks Donas727 and Candi, I finally get it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  78. @Donas and s-t: Strike the band! I got it!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yay, well done Candi :)

    5806a etc,
Keep picking letters from entrance to exit by using the method you did and you will get (without anagramming) two words F...... and K......
But that's not the answer. Look at the text now to find your answer. Maybe you have to Google for that or maybe you know that expression.

    ReplyDelete
  80. from lvl 47, all I got is a terrible headache. Gonna leave it until tomorrow. Good night all !

    ReplyDelete
  81. 50: If I've done the replacement and googling correctly, no one in the band was born in Germany....

    ReplyDelete
  82. Candi, not sure I understand what you mean, but no band needed if you mean level 51. German is so hard to understand! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  83. Level 29 I have the names of animals, unless the second, so I can not find the r****e. I did not know where to use the red numbers

    ReplyDelete
  84. pichi, Have you found the song? And the parody by the guy in the picture? Use the parody title to find the right name for the animals. What would you call them if you did what the title says?

    ReplyDelete
  85. (darned classes keep getting in the way of my riddle solving...)

You were right, Donas, I was reading that wrong. I got it now, thanks! On to 48, then.

(At this rate, I should be done sometime around...2028?)

    ReplyDelete
  86. I have the title of the song and the parody, I try to add other names to the animals as parody, but I get nothing

    ReplyDelete
  87. pichi, does this help? "carne de res" the words has 4 letters

    ReplyDelete
  88. Pichi,
The other animal names are not a parody. English people use different names for animals when they do what the parody song title says.

    ReplyDelete
  89. pichi: You might need a break from that riddle for a bit...maybe go down to the deli and get yourself something, then do what the parody title says to do.

(Yes, that was meant to be a hint.)

    ReplyDelete
  90. lvl 50: no matter how I juggle squares and the signs, I don't get anything. More hints?

    ReplyDelete
  91. but I have to convert the names of animals, food names?

    ReplyDelete
  92. @pichi, when you want to buy cow meat, what do you ask the butcher to give you?

    ReplyDelete
  93. PinHead, make each line into that shape, 5 lines so 5 shapes. And the apply the symbol at the end of each line to pick letters. Think them as paths.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Thanks Morgana!
I was considering the 5 lines as one grid.

    On to lvl 51!

    ReplyDelete
  95. on 48 do i need to use tools? or is it all just in the way i read the 2 messages?

    ReplyDelete
  96. cow meat=beef, and other animals are other names? and I do with these numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  97. rds: The messages tell you what tools you need.

    ReplyDelete
  98. pichi, yes, find the other names and pick a letter. Anagram is needed

    ReplyDelete
  99. pichi,
    no anagram needed.
You got first one right, now find the others and use numbers to pick letters

    ReplyDelete
  100. Pichi, sorry, no anagram needed

    ReplyDelete
  101. Thanks I look for others names

    ReplyDelete
  102. Saw the message strewn across the whole of 48.
Saw the 7-word message starting from the entrance.
Saw a 4-letter sentence fragment starting from the exit.

I'm guessing the 2nd one there is telling me I need to use B****** to find the answer, but I'm not seeing (no pun intended) how that would work with this.

    ReplyDelete
  103. lvl 51:
    - Google image gives a slightly different name than usual for the 1st pic. Should we go with the common name?
    - Should the substitution be done in the 1st word, and the result added to the 2nd word or the 1st word defines what the substitution is and then applied to the 2nd word?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Oh! Oh! Hang on, think I just had a brain wave. Disregard my last for the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  105. xaq, consider the maze as a grid and apply the B. We have done something similar in previous levels.
This is a very sneaky but enjoyable level!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Finally at 30! Thank you very much everyone for your help

    ReplyDelete
  107. *translates 3 lines of the "grid", jawdrops* AAAAAAAGH!! Don't tell me I just hit a red herring! D:

    ReplyDelete
  108. xaq, you should now continue with method 2

    ReplyDelete
  109. Okay, so no fish back there...whew.

    ...I have no idea what method 2 is, though. o_O;;

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thank you all for the great, very helpful hints for 47, finally made it !

    ReplyDelete
  111. xaq Your message should have indicated two different tools, you've used one, now use the other

    ReplyDelete
  112. same spot as you xaq, no idea what 2 is,

    ReplyDelete
  113. xaq: Maybe it's longer than you thought it was.

    ReplyDelete
  114. You mean the message starting from the entrance? Okay, well...I've used the code that was referenced in the 2nd half of the sentence (with the b*******d), so do I need do something with the first part? Like M**** c*** or something?

(I hope not...I already tried that and got a bunch of gibberish.)

    ReplyDelete
  115. OH WAIT! I see what I did wrong now! If I try treating the last few lines all as one continuous line, I...

...get a feasible phrase that doesn't work. :[

    ReplyDelete
  116. Oh. Left off the last 2 words. My bad.

Yay, out of the mazes! Now back to the real headaches! :D

    ReplyDelete
  117. Xaq,
Correct and you shouldn't get gibberish (no anagram), starts with A.
And of course starts after what you already found.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Level 44 - I read all the previous comments but I'm totally stumped on how to even find the egg. Do I count how many spaces to get all the gold starting from the space small-tool is at, and if so, am I allowed to cross over a line to do that? Also, if that is right, what do I do on the ones that take more than 26 spaces?

    ReplyDelete
  119. I'm presuming that with 49, letting things rot a bit is going to be involved. I found the 7 letters earlier clues were saying to work with, but beyond that...got nothing, and classes are getting in my way again. :[ Back in a few hours, hopefully a hint or a brain wave will have hit by then.

    ReplyDelete
  120. c0fe - Each room has how many coins? How can that be converted?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Xaq,
Caesar had more tricks up his sleeve besides rot.
And don't forget about very basic riddling (text).

    ReplyDelete
  122. 51: I've googled the images. I've visited Deutschland. I've been by Granny's.
-I took 54 from the first to add to the second -> no joy.
-I took 14 from the second and added to the first (in 54's place) -> no joy
-I swapped 54 from the first with 14 from the second -> no joy

    Hints?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Candi,
Swapping 54 into basic riddling 14 is the way to go (on the left).
And after that Google Translate will help.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I was so close all the time!

    Thanks s-t!

    ReplyDelete
  125. 53: I thought I got a small word from breaking up the grid and applying an alphabet. It didn't work, but am I on the right track?

    ReplyDelete
  126. On 53 you will get (without anagramming) two words.
No need to break up the grid or using the alphabet, just picking letters.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Btw. 2 am here and that's way too late because all the other nights since Friday were way later, because I wanted to see you guys struggle :P
So, calling it a night. Good luck and have fun :)

Btw, thanks for the compliments Candi and Butterfly.
Lol, I mean I think it's (or actually; I take it as) a compliment Butterfly telling: "was anagraming and counting things in my dream last night."
And Candi telling about missing a Tesshi-e game.

    ReplyDelete
  128. S-T, I didn't forget about the text; doing first things first was how I got the 7 letters I'm trying to decipher.

The only other trick I've found on Red Luth that Caesar had up his toga sleeves (....?) was his Box cipher, and that didn't help any.

Still not getting what that key in the picture is, either...looks like a bunch of v****s mashed together, but that's about all I'm getting from that. I thought maybe it was a "Caesar Key cipher" clue, but then I realized that's just ROT with a fancier name.

    ReplyDelete
  129. xaq, You'll find a cipher on Rumkin. There is a link for it on Red Luth (lower right corner). You have the key. Look at what you wrote. :)

    ReplyDelete
  130. @s-t: It was totally a compliment! (I still haven't played the Tesshi-e...)

This has been the best riddle I have ever tried, bar none. With the tutorial in the form of the Prequel, we were fully prepared for the kinds of things we would see. It's confounding b/c it makes you think; there's never a moment where you're a little ticked that the maker just threw in a random bit from left field. We've been at it since Friday (I thought I was the only one staying up well into the AM!) and don't regret the time spent.

    I actually feel smarter!

Well, that's just how I feel, in any case :)

    ReplyDelete
  131. TY for your help on 46 LinR, I swear I always miss the easy part. Now stuck on Level 49, I see the 20 word sentence but still don't know how to answer the question. I must have tried fifty different answers already, I don't know how to answer it literally. Can someone tell me how many words the answer is please?

    ReplyDelete
  132. @xaq: Also, if you're on Red Luth's page: ctrl + f then 'key' should also take you to the right place ;)

(You'll know you have it b/c it'll spit out the answer without Granny.)

    ReplyDelete
  133. Nevermind, i just had a pop!

    ReplyDelete
  134. *tries what S-T, LinR, and Candi said*
    *sees what it cranks out*
    *deadpans*

Okay. On to level 50, I gue--

    *sees level 50*

    *screams in terror*

    ReplyDelete
  135. c0fe, Did you do the first things first on the text? Also there is something different in this Caesar's picture. It is made up of many parts. When you have those read the hint above that I left for xaq.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Okay, I've gone over the hints so far...I see 1 thing each line has in common, and I see the shape around them...buuut once again this is all proving to be a bit above my ability to work out on my own. :[

    ReplyDelete
  137. Never mind, just worked it out. Missed a hint earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Most of need some help, Xaq, That's what makes it fun. The interaction. You can arrange each line into a shape and use something nearby to pick some letters.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yeah, that's part of the reason I love (and hate) these so much. I worked 50 out a while ago, and (somehow!) managed to nail 51 with just the hints already available.

52's giving me fits, though, partially because I keep going cross-eyed on which square is which. I see a 3-word phrase going towards the center like the text says, but nothing's catching my eye (possibly due to the crossedness it's giving them) going out.

    ReplyDelete
  140. @xaq: wow, i heard you screaming all the way back in the last maze!

btw, thank you all who left the great additional hints for the last maze. i came running out of it and slammed face first into lvl49. i think i might go back in the maze ...

    ReplyDelete
  141. @small-tool....yes, it was a compliment! i have never been involved in a riddle as much as i have this one. a huge ty for making it! i have alot of making up to do when i finally finish this lol

    ReplyDelete
  142. lvl49: does it really help to magnify the image? or was the hint for a different level? (re: candi's comment @10:01pm above)

    ReplyDelete
  143. Wow, I think I just made a breakthrough on 52.

On a hunch I decided write things out widdershins, and caught a larger message than I saw before...I think I might have an 11-letter chunk of garble to work with.

    ReplyDelete
  144. @xaq: You're looking for instructions... think a little laterally...

@Unknown: It helped me to see everything (and stare at it). What you're looking for will pop out at you, all of a sudden.

    ReplyDelete
  145. 53: I think I see a little first things first going on. But I can't seem to pick or count based on it in a way that yields words.

    A bit of a push?

    ReplyDelete
  146. Candi,
if you have all the words and first things, use the lenght of each word to count. no anagram needed.

    ReplyDelete
  147. its funny how encryption and decryption give two complete opposite results!

    on to 50, finally!

    ReplyDelete
  148. My brain feels mushy. I think I'm for bed :)

    ReplyDelete
  149. I'm either not thinking laterally enough, or I'm thinking too laterally, because I'm still getting nowhere on 52.

    I've got a 9-word message, and 11-letter jumble, and that's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  150. lvl46 I got sentence (20 words) but no answer. Any hints?

    ReplyDelete
  151. @xaq, first you should get a 11 letter sequence that will direct you to pick letters. read from outside from inside, in a zigzag path.
then use those letters to pick one letter from each layer. You need granny at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  153. @ceebee, I am reading again and again, but still nothing. I am not literal type.

  155. @Morgana: I don't think the 11 letters (which, after I double-checked, I found I had 2 wrong due to typos) are doing much to help me pick letters...they do make 3 words without granny's help, though:

    e*** f** a***

Sounds more like a line out of Lovecraftian horror than helpful riddle-solving advice.

  156. lvl 50:
I substituted 54 with 14 in pic1 and got 2 letters. pic2 is 5 letters. word1+word2 turn out nothing in Google translate.

    ReplyDelete
  157. PinHead: Try word 1 on its own. Then check to see if it shows up anywhere else in the puzzle.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Also, word 1 should be 3 letters at that point, not 2.

    ReplyDelete
  159. lvl51: im pretty sure i have the 54=14 part correct. do we use more basic substitutions on the new words we come up with?

    ReplyDelete
  160. Isn't the 1st pic 5 letters (oil producing), 4 of which are 54?

    ReplyDelete
  161. If the 1st pic is a first name (6 letters) related to the oil producing thing, then I get 3 letters alright. But then Translate fails too.

    ReplyDelete
  162. @pinhead: its possible that we arent supposed to translate the pic words, but instead translate the word that the clue asks us to translate and add that to our substitution somehow. i just cant find the right combination of things to make an answer.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Only 3 letters are involved in 54. You replace those three with the letter involved in 14. What you should end up with goes from being an oil producer to being a 3-letter word.

After that, use the text and Google Translate to change it to another 3-letter word.

In fairness to how difficult this is being for you guys, it does, as you've probably guessed, take a genius to solve this particular puzzle. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  164. @xaq, Do I conclude that 54 is not a sum of letters?

@Unknown, I think I am on the right track, but it is the definition of 54 that sems to be throwing me off track.

    ReplyDelete
  165. @pinhead, pretty sure the roman empire had something to do with it. if not, then im way off and i need to start over.

@xaq, google translate doesnt like my 3 letter words. i tried some 4 letter ones to test it, and it censored the answers. :)

    ReplyDelete
  166. PinHead: You are correct, it is not a sum of letters. It is, however, related to letters. Both 54 and 14 pertain to a way that letters can be interpreted as numbers; 54 one way (think Caesar, don't think ROT) , 14 another (don't think Caesar or ROT).

    ReplyDelete
  167. I was being thrown off by the fact that love=54 and iver=54 as well (sum)!
Now the 1st part is clear. But google translate still doesn't want to play ball.
As for the genius, it is ST who deserves that adjective coupled with 'sadist' lol
    Thanks ST!

  168. lvl51: success!!

    onward!!

    ReplyDelete
  169. If it helps any, I unintentionally gave away the first word in that last reply.

    ReplyDelete
  170. @pinhead, if you are certain of the first half, try putting pic#2 in the translator

    ReplyDelete
  171. That level really needed a genius ;)
    onto lvl 52!

    ReplyDelete
  172. Congrats Unknown! Now hurry up and solve 52 so I can pick your brain for the answer. XP

    ReplyDelete
  173. Oops, didn't meant to miss you there, PinHead. Congrats to you as well!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Well, hopefully you two have better luck than I am...I'm out for tonight. See you all later.

    ReplyDelete
  175. @xaq: leaving as well, but my initial thought on 52 is to follow straighten up the letters a little so it looks more like a NEWSpaper.
    Only my first guess, though.

    ReplyDelete
  176. @xaq, for 52, look for an 11 letter sequence (not word) for directions. Then granny is not even necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  177. LVL 53: 8 letters from words (first things first). Tried using word length or color name length to count and pick. Nada.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Pinhead,
Looks like you're close with the method or even have the method.
It's no anagram and starts with T.

    ReplyDelete
  179. pinhead first idea is right way persevere with it

    ReplyDelete
  182. on 49 could someone please give me a push in the right direction for the 5 letters you can see, i have tried staring , turning almost falling on my head ;) just not getting it nor finding anything that looks similar.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Candi,
Always start top left again after you picked a letter.

    Butterfly,
They're all 9 letters. Can you make that into that shape?

    ReplyDelete
  184. Candi, did you look well at the letters from first things first? each implies something.

    ST: You rock! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  185. lvl 47, I got all numbers from rows. Now what?

    ReplyDelete
  186. 50 count 53 word length colour pick
    58 hints please :)

lol ok have years coords and cuboid see it has to be plotting within 3d do I carry on from where I landed or keep them in pairs within their own time zone

    ReplyDelete
  187. Mtatt,
    For level 58.
It seems you found all the info you need (and could find) with Google. Well done.
But..... Do you really think you have all the info now to solve this level?

    ReplyDelete
  188. 5806a,
    Rot up or down.
First two letters won't change. No anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I see what you guys have written, and I'm totally there, but I can't seem to make it work!

    The first three picks should be 6, 4, 5, right? (y-----, b---, g----)
    Starting top left, this gives t, b, e, or t, e, t.

How am I being beaten by basic riddling! It's like I learned a new language and forgot my mother tongue :)

    ReplyDelete
  190. the only shape i make that into is a n*****, is that correct?

    ReplyDelete
  191. lvl 54 Other than the cool music: What?

    ReplyDelete
  192. Candi,
The first pick would be 3 and the second 6.
And it wouldn't be the 3rd and 6th letter, but the 3rd and 6th what?
And nope not column, row thingies.

    Butterfly,
    Think 3x3

    ReplyDelete
  193. Candi, 8 letters from first things first

    ReplyDelete
  194. like he said on 54 cymbals are key but you also need the guitar inbetween ,if it is too fast download it and slow it down in audacity you will have to copy and paste it in a new tab from source

    ReplyDelete
  195. Guys: That was awesome!
