8 escape men, 2 left to get, 1 behind the bookshelf and one with the girl, have nothing in inventory to use
how do i color the one in the book with the pencil?
About item...there is a EM on the pencil before you use it
DPotts, check pencil carefully first, then you can use it to colour the book.

Did you get the one from behind shelf ? Click the box top right, there's a switch.
The "waiting-one" is outside, look through the window next to the girl

POP! OH! The box the EM is on BEHIND the blue bookshelf, not the top right of the bookshelf, the clues left were a little confusing.
POP the one in the library is now asleep. After that take the book, there is a card under it. Then use em in scene with the girl.

Once you have all ten, click the girl and the box with the green men, one will come along and get the book for her. A key falls out to let you out the door.
