Then push the buttons on the remote until it appears. Thanks for the clues! Don't know how I managed to find it the first time around.

Bowl on a stick goes into hole in ground on screen to the right of "broken beyond readibility" tile where karmic seals are used. Karmic water in bowl creates lever, push lever to right, then head to the T intersection in the sewer approaching Murtaugh's tomb, which is now pointing "up". Go up. Grab secret.
In room where you use the climbing rope, a note on the wall gives you dimension coordinates. shift there. A small brass scale rod is on the ground. Back up, one screen to the right of the knotted rope and eye-or-ra symbol in a place to set the balance. Pushing the balance down to the left or to the right opens the left or right hatches in from of elizabeths's tomb. Right side has secret.

Vivvy, i think i placed my gems using the 3 remote buttons on the right. (ie: pushed top right button, placed gem, pushed middle right button, placed gem) Hope that makes sense

cow statue in Elizabeths tomb has a clickable square shape in the base. Moving that one opens a corresponding square shaped hatch in a cow statue in Murtaugh's tomb, holding a secret.

ReplyDeleteyep out. pretty sure i know where the final secret would be revealed, but never figured out how to open the thing - somewhere there was an otherwise empty room with a blank space where a OIO tile would have gone. Fourth level reveals a tall skinny brass thing with an open hole at the top and a shielded opening at the bottom. Never did work out what to do with that thing... one last puzzle remains, back to the start!
ReplyDeleteI like these games a lot, they are very well thought out. I fI had to change one thing though, it would be that there is too much back and forth retracing your steps over and over again. I would either design it so tht the backtracking is minimal, or put in a clickable map.

ReplyDelete@tomfra - There was a device to the left of the lower Eye of Ra. I believe it's the first level at the top of the stairs. You have to play around with the remote to place the Karmic seals.

ReplyDeleteonce you have the turquoise button, you can go back to the red level (forget which level of the red) and go all the way right. Push the turquoise button and there will be an opening ahead. Inside is another place for a round key in the wall. Going to look for the key now!

ReplyDeleteTo get the secret, on the far right side on the level with the cage, you have to ring the two bells (on top of circle stairs), so the statue has two greeny hearrings, and you'll be able to get the secret.

ReplyDeleteI guess there are two ways to exit, but not very much difference. One where you leave via all the electricity (keep going left and follow the electricity to the end) and end the game there, or click on "go back to the game" and get the brass key - go back to the red level where you got the large karmic seal all the way to the right - there is now a hole in the stone wall where you can put the brass key and out.

ReplyDeleteRestarted so I could work on a map.
ReplyDeleteWhere you begin, might as well call it the ground floor. On the far right is the lever to open cavern where you find jug for karmic water and 2 brass bowls to fill. One of these gives you a cog which is used at the other bowl to open the tunnel on the far left. 4x through the tunnel, and you're in what I'm calling the ground floor of the submachine. You can make a ladder to go to floor 1 (+1, that is). Find the scarab and another bowl, which makes another ladder to floor 2 (blue rooms). Find part of stone key here.
Then you go back to ground floor and use scarab to get 2nd part of key. Use key on 2nd floor and go down again to 1st floor, more red rooms, but now you can't go back up. At this point you're 10 steps left of where you began.
Until you go 2x left, find the brass bowl, put it on the altar under the broken ladder and fill it. Then you have a nice green ladder.
I wonder if there's something you can do with the ladder rung which hangs uselessly there after you try to attach it. I'll have to play a 3rd game to find out.
From the 12th step left on this level (where the brass bowl was) you can climb down a hole to more red rooms on the ground floor. Find brass sphere and chest key here, and a code that you can't find on your I/O gizmo - maybe the missing button?
Another ladder goes down to -1, which I'll call B1 for basement. Grey rooms now. To your left, a brass cage, then an oblong cartouche (thx nokra for that name, lol), and a brass tile in a hole on the far left. To the far right is another brass tile and a statue you'll be seeing more of.
At the place where the loose end of the chain hangs, press the 4th button on your gizmo to make a contraption appear. Pour karmic water to make pretty green shapes. Then press the 7th button and pour again to complete the shape. Then the 1st button replaces the contraptions with blue lights. Now you can pull the lever and lift the cage.
Down to B2. Find lever handle on far left, stone tablet to right. Go to 2nd scene from left and press 6th button to make circle appear. You need 2 more pieces for this.
Return to B1, go left and place your stone tablet to make a ladder appear. This leads to a ground-floor cave with a brass tile in it.
Go all the way back to the far right of the blue rooms (2nd floor) to use your chest key. This gives you the 4th tile piece. Return to B2 and replace them for staircase to B3!
I'll continue this as I can, pls be patient...hope it's useful
btw the resemblance of this to an actual walkthrough is by no means intended to discourage anyone from writing a real one!
You know what? There really should be serious awards for games this good, like Oscars or something. Involving big prize money. Our star-rating system doesn't realy do justice to anything.

Take the stone eye from statue to left - go right to read Murtaugh's Weird Tale - continue right and find bell and spiral stair to B4, where there's a brass bowl w/ a thingie on the end.
Back on B2, in the window on the far right, is the place to hang this. Pour from your jug to make green bridge and cross to the other side of the building.
I neglected in the 1st part to say that in the second set of red rooms on the ground floor, you can fill a bowl there and take a karmic seal. Also the statue on B1 will now have one green earring.
From B2 across the green bridge, you can go to B3 again, and in the place where the square on the wall says 'broken beyond readability', the 2nd button will give you a place to put your karmic seal. 2 steps further right is a place for your lever handle. Go left to find another bell and spiral stair.
Down 4x, so I guess we're on B7 now. Go left to find story of Murtaugh's cat, and further to find 'ritual brass bowl' embedded in the red sand. (to the right is another machine and 2 blocked entrances.) From the last left but one, we can go down into a tunnel maze.
Be back after I explore it some more!

ReplyDeletedown 2x, left 4x, up 2x gets you to the Tomb of Murtaugh. On the right find a stoppered jug; unstopper it and pour from your jug, take smaller karmic seal. You can do more here but first...
The place for your new brass bowl is back on B3, between where you put the karmic seal and the lever. You get a green lever; flip it to the right. If you now return to the tunnels, You'll see the down passage which was impassable has changed to an up passage; it leads to a cave where you find a SECRET.
Other things have changed. Go back to B2, look right and find a new rope ladder up to B1. Find a 2nd stone eye here.
Now the statue on B1 has 2 earrings. Not sure when this happened.
Now back to the tomb, and go directly forward through the archway. Go left to read another Murtaugh Tale; go right to find a Ganesh statue holding a brass bowl. Filling this one gives you a teleporter that leads to a blue room (looks to be at the outer wall of the pyramid - by now you've probably noticed we're inside a pyramid) where you find a brass key.
Back to the tomb, click forward again to find Murtaugh's sarcophagus. Open it w/ your 1st stone eye. Get Murtaugh's golden seal; this fits in the machine back on B7. The brass key opens the bars to the far right on the same level. You've found Elizabeth's Tomb. Go in to get her golden seal. Also go to the far right to press a switch on the animal statue.
7x left, put seal in machine, press both levers. 2x left, and find this has opened new tunnels under the statue. (Elizabeth's?) Go down 4x and left to find a brass scale.

ReplyDeleteActually I'm recovering from a nasty bug and this is the most fun I've had all week! Don't feel brave at all! (Brave would be cleaning my house...)
Okay I'm back on B3 where I put the 1st karmic seal, and pressing #5 button gives me a place to put the new one, which merges w/ the 1st.
ReplyDeleteUp on B2, you can place the brass scale on the machine to the far right and make it connect right or left. Right connection opens the shaft in front of E's tomb. Passage is blocked, however. Connect left, and the shaft one step before the door to her tomb is open. Another blocked passage, but there's a switch to push.
Also you can go inside her tomb, once left, and install your brass sphere to make a teleport to the very apex of the pyramid. Floor +4, acc. to my map.) You can get a climbing rope here.
And if you now open the right-hand shaft again, having pressed the switch, you find another SECRET. Return to Murtaugh's tomb, and another SECRET is in the cow statue on the far left. Again I'm not sure what made that happen.
And I just realized, another SECRET is in the forehead of the statue on B1, after he has both earrings.

ReplyDeleteOh my map got completely screwed - should have previewed it. All the spaces were left out! Well I won't be trying THAT again.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Carine Yezn, figured out what I was missing! Return to the place of the karmic seals and press button 6! That machine is now open and you can take a brass valve.
ReplyDeleteThen, back to the shaft under E's statue. Attaching the brass valve and turning it allows you to attach the climbing rope.
Nice freaky cutscene. Then you drop down and you're stuck down there. Very deep, now. You started the climb from B11. Let's call this Shiva's Cavern. 4x right and 3rd button gives you a teleport to a grey control room. Pull lever to open panel; take 3 wisdom gems.
Return to the cavern; one step left is a contraption which reads IOIOIOI at the bottom. Press button 2; install gem. Button 4, 1st gem disappears, install another. Button 6, 3rd gem and look left to find a turquoise button which you can install on your gizmo, and of course you want to press it right away.
Follow the energy patterns to your far left and you're...not really out, but this game's over.
Submachine 10? Marvellous! I never found the 5th secret here, I think zoz left some clues to it above. Several other unanswered questions... but my fingers need a break (and my brain,lol).
Anyway that's it without the map - can't figure out how to reproduce it here.
Just a few notes on things that seem like they would lead to one of the secrets, i.e. things I haven't figured out :)
ReplyDeleteRed level, the room after you come down from blue and take 1 step left: the tile indicates button 5. There's a stick that I could never do anything with. (This object changes with all the buttons.)
Level B2. Almost all the way to the left is a round gold pedestal and (I think) a tile indicating button 6.
Also level B2: a couple rooms to the right of the green bridge is a gold post (visible with button 4) which looks like something should fit into the upper part.

ReplyDeleteHaha! The two remaining mysteries are each other's answers. That unused ladder rung is the tool to opening that cylinder that Draikyn mentioned. 5/5 secrets.

ReplyDeletedid anyone use the hammer? also when the game ended, I went back in and followed up to the karma machine where the energy stream ended. I was able to grab a brass key, but can't find any use for it....
ReplyDelete@Layra & @just1 -- ladder rung? I see a rung hanging under the green ladder, but cannot take it. How to get it?
ReplyDelete@michele, I don't think the hammer is used for anything (though you can ring the bells with it.) I believe the key is used in the room with the IIIIIII tile: once you get the button for your device, click it at that room and a door will open for you.

ReplyDeleteThe ladder rung on the floor when you first enter that room from the blue level. You have to be careful to pick up the ladder rung but not attach it to any of the holes there, or it will permanently lock in and you'll have to restart if you want to use it.

ReplyDeleteThanks to those that helped me find them! Here are all compiled in one place, in no particular order:
1. There are two cows. At the far right one, push the button and it will slide. Go to the far left cow (through the tunnels) and the secret will be exposed in the same place where the button was in the other one.
2. Pick up the ladder rung in the red level (Descend there after using first stone key). DO NOT ATTACH IT. A few screens to the right of the karmic (green) bridge, there is a plaque on the wall that does not give you a number. Use your remote to shift to #4. A post will show up. Stick your ladder rung into the top hole, wait for it to stop swinging, then spin it again. Secret is in bottom hole.
3. There's a statue that looks like he's sitting at a table with 7 dots on it (right after the blue and green karmic thing that you build to pull the chain). After you ring both bells with the hammer, the dude will have karmic earrings and a secret will be in his forehead.
4. YOU CANNOT GET THIS SECRET AFTER GOING DOWN THE ROPE THAT YOU ATTACH! After you open the ladder under the statue, go down four screens to where you will attach the brass valve and your climbing rope. Go left. There is a plaque indicating #5. Shift to #5 with your remote. There is now a "brass scale" at the bottom right. Once you have the scale, you can continue going down, exit, go back to game, and find your secrets (because the game isn't really over anyway).
Once you're back in the game, go to the far right of the post in #2 secret and place your scale there. Tap it so the ball is down on the left. Go back down the stairs and to the right. A tunnel cover is now open. Go down and push the lever. Go back to the scale and tap it so it's on the right. Go back to where that tunnel was but keep going to the right and the second tunnel will be open. Go down and pick up your secret.
5. At the bottom of the long staircase, go to the far right and you will find a bowl on a long stick. Insert it to the right where you put the large and small karmic seals. Fill it with karmic water. Tap it to move it the right. See that T is now upside down? You just move a whole section of tunnel. The tunnel is in the pile of lava right beside where you found that bowl. Now when you go through it, the tunnel will have an up area that leads you to another room with a secret.
Now you can use the new stone key you found, use the portal, and here the secrets room music and discover more about Murtaugh and Elizabeth!
