The bit that had me stumped for a little while was finding the silver key - then I noticed the unusually coloured stonework....
Simple and logical. The one stone was a bit hard to see, but that's probably my computer. Nice job.

IIRC the safe number was 9365?
Cute game -- just wasn't sure at first if the third digit of the number code was going to be a 6 (what you get if you actually count the tally marks) or a 7 (thinking maybe a mistake was made because normally tallies are done with 4 marks and a slash like the clue for the first and last digits). It turned out that I was overthinking it and as joe soap said above it's a 6.
