Alaska Survival Escape Day 5

Alaska Survival Escape Day 5 is a new escape games created by Selfdefiant for Melting-Mindz. It's day 5 in Alaska, last night wasn't so bad sleeping in a real bed. It would have been better if Bill didn't snore so loud. At least he is feeling better today. There's a loud noise outside, you should really go check it out! Good luck and have fun playing!

  1. Going in! Anyone playing?

  2. Hopped on a train, jumped out at a house and met Granny. Bill took a seat.

    Love this series, SD!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yes and i am always making the false choice and have to restart grrr..

    ReplyDelete
  4. The colour code in cupboards in kitchen is used on bookshelf for a trophy

    ReplyDelete
  5. Don´t click woman or dog...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Why, Zazie? I clicked the woman and she told me she lost the keys to her truck. And the dog need a bone.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Died again by entering a number code in box :-(

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hmm strange, i have no idea Zoe...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Found the bone outside the house, use the paddle to move the snow.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I give up....again and again this long trip in the train, good luck to you.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The woman asked me to find her keys as well. That is really strange Zazie...?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Thanks for the bone Jo.C! got a key now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Also got a log for the fireplace - use the saw outside

    ReplyDelete
  14. Lit the candle on the fire in bedroom, use it to see in the dark room. Got a wrench from back of toilet

    ReplyDelete
  15. lol - I burnt some hair on my arm when I lit the candle!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Good morning! (Or evening, depending on where you are in the world)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Zazie - I'm using FF, if that's any help. Haven't died yet.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh ok now i died, must of put the wrong number in the box :(
Do I really have to start again?!

    ReplyDelete
  19. The place for trophies is on top of the cb where Bill is sitting (doing nothing to help, btw)

    ReplyDelete
  20. It started me again in the house, but when I went outside I had to get the key from the fish mouth again?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm not starting again. That's annoying!

    ReplyDelete
  22. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  23. not liking having to keep restarting not doing it any more

    ReplyDelete
  24. But now I can't chop the wood outside because it started me in the house without the axe!

    ReplyDelete
  25. died? Zazie? Have log in fireplace and found candle but need matches.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Just noticed you can turn the tv on and it will give you the shape code for upstairs

    ReplyDelete
  27. i never figured out the clock weights, but find the trophies to get the keys and then Get Out Of Dodge.

    ReplyDelete
  28. everything worked ok for me. did not die or get stuck, maybe it's been fixed. Out now

    ReplyDelete
  29. You have to open the cb where the axe is with the pic that is on the wall downstairs.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haha ok and now I have an axe again??

    ReplyDelete
  31. However, I also got an axe before I left and got on the train. It was above the bed on the right windowsill. So you can get two axes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, you can either get the one on the window or the one in the cb, but not both, so only one axe

    ReplyDelete
  33. Out now as well... Eventually lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Evans, get the bone outside, give to dog, get a key and use on the room at the top of the stairs. Light the candle on fireplace.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lol Zoe, so what is in the cupboard if you got the first axe before you got on the train?

    ReplyDelete
  36. The clock is backwards. 1010 is NOT the code. Don't put that in or you lose and have to restart. If restarting is not for you, then you won't like this part.

    ReplyDelete
  37. You only lose if you try to hurt the dog, Bill, the lady or if you try to cheat by unlocking the box with the key before you find the clue. Also if you try to leave in the truck alone. :) Sorry but I thought it was a good idea. If you make the wrong choice and have to start over, sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I can't get into the house. Can't cut down the tree because I don't have an axe, and I'm not allowed to take the truck. Haven't met an old woman or a dog

    ReplyDelete
  39. Used candle to light fireplace downstairs left, had to restart since no light for bathroom

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jo.C - nothing - lol!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've reached the house, but only thing I can click on is the truck and the snow. Nothing else happening. Am I missing something (have the axe and have chopped down log)?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Judlike - use your yellow paddle on the fish for a key.

    ReplyDelete
  43. OK, I fixed the gold box, now if you enter the wrong number before you see the clue you don't lose, only if you know the right number before seeing the clue. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Utterly ludicrous! A decent developer would not force gamers to keep going back to the beginning with any failure.

    ReplyDelete
  45. There's a color code in the cb where granny is. Use that on the books upstairs for a trophy. Press in order (spoiler below)

    Blue, Orange, Purple, Green, Red

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lol so Zazie must of tried to hurt the dog or the woman! Thanks Selfdefiant :)

Judlike, use the paddleto knock the key out of the fish mouth above the door

    ReplyDelete
  47. OK, in the house now. Bill's very lazy.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks SD - you were about to face a lot of complaints, I think - lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well, you don't have to like everything I make. After reading comments on here and other places about hurting Bill, I thought it only seem fit. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Haha i just CLICKED the dog and the lady and i died 3 times (last time by entering wrong number in box) I did not know that clicking the dog hurts him...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Restarted, and second time around I now have an up arrow that lets me zoom in on the fish. In now.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Entered wrong code on green box, and so I've died. Hope Bill died too, the lazy git. Not restarting, life's too short.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Argh! I lit the fireplace first and lost my candle, so now I can't go into the room upstairs :(

    ReplyDelete
  54. Don't use candle on fireplace before you check out dark room

    ReplyDelete
  55. Did anyone do anything with the safe? I got out without it but I kept trying the colors/numbers (paintings on the fireplace wall) to open and never got it right

    ReplyDelete
  56. Also never seemed to need anything with the clock pendulum weights

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi SD - in our defense. I don't necessarily notice what I have "to use". So if I had the paddle in use after just getting the key from the fish and then clicked the woman or dog... Wouldn't mean I meant to use the paddle on them! Now, Bill would be a different matter ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. If every game was like this (several restarts), it would be utterly infuriating, but as a one-off, it was very amusing. A throwback to the very first text only adventure games. Thanks for a fun series, Selfdefiant.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Janet - lol! I don't have a problem bonking Bill on the head, either! He's not so bossy this time, but sure is lazy!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Also, according to the text below the screen, Bill snores loudly, too!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yes, Zoe. For Bill I wish SD had left us the gunpowder from the other day.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Lol, Huw, that's a great point! If any of you guys ever play King's Quest or the retro Legend of Zelda, be prepared to hulk out.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The train ride is so long because it takes all day. Day turns into night while I'm riding it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Thanks for understanding, and like Huw said, I don't do this every time. I thought it would be a fun twist. :) I only had good intentions in mind.

    ReplyDelete
  65. This isn't the only game where you have to do things in order. SD, I appreciate that you try new things all the time!

    Fun game!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. SD - we appreciate your games and everything you do to help us out during them. You and Huw are right - every now and then we need the unexpected to change things up. (Like maybe someday leaving a clue in the newspaper for all us folks who read it anyway...hint, hint)

    ReplyDelete
  67. I was able to finish the game without dying at all. I actually like the morality twist this episode had to it. Thanks for all the great, fun, and free games Self-Defiant!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Also, in reference to the comment about not being a decent developer. THAT is ludicrous to me. SD is the only developer I've come across that will, in the rare occasion of a bug or glitch, fix it immediately. SD obviously takes pride in his developing, and it is much appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I had fun, didn't die. Did think to use the candle in the dark room before lighting the fire - actually thought that lighting the fire would extinguish the candle. I kind of like having to think about the consequences of the action I'm about to take :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. @SD, only one complaint from my side: the train scenes are to long, the same is with kayak scene in one older game

    ReplyDelete
  71. you die only if you choose from inventory saw ,paddle or pick saw and then ,by clicking everywhere to find things, you click over Billy ,dog or the woman....pretty obviously :D

    ReplyDelete
  72. I died by entering the wrong number code. Now I can only click on the tree outside. The game will not let me zoom in on the fish to get the key to enter the house or let me in the house.

    ReplyDelete
  73. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I got out but I never even solved the colored number buttons.

I was afraid to try anything because I'd have to start over. So the game let me escape without solving an entire puzzle?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wow ... love this game SD but this episode was a big disappointment ... starting over 5 times is enough already!!!! Big X.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I loved it, I dont want a game where I dont have to think and search so its basically like watching a cartoon instead of playing. Good job SD

    ReplyDelete
  77. Should be a good series but quite disappointing this time. Start over several times and this is annoying. At least there is some warning. One time I just click on Bill and lose. This does not make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  78. got out but never did anything with the clock or the safe in the bedroom.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I was actually able to play this from the meltingmindz site this time! Sweet! Hopefully whatever he changed will allow everyone to do the same!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Cleared cookies and then tried playing from the meltingmindz site as well as this site...no difference, I cannot zoom in on the house...I am playing on Chrome. Anyone else having this difficulty?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Use the arrow at the top of the screen to get closer to house. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  82. I clicked on Granny and got thrown out of the game? Then after restarting and going all the way through it I put the keys in the truck and am told I lose? Sorry SD, you struck out with this one.

    ReplyDelete
  83. lilrascal - it depends on what you have in your hands when you click on granny, Bill or the dog, or if you get in the truck without giving granny the keys. If you have the paddle, pickaxe or saw, you die because you are hurting them. If you don't hurt them, then you'll be ok. SD decided to twist it up a bit this way.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Thank you Lisa Hall. Safely out now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. Also @lilrascal: You stole the truck instead of giving the keys to granny, she asks you for the keys if you click her.

Note, when clicking anyone, it's best to "put away" the item in your hand first...

  86. I never got the chance to die. I understand that EG24 needs to pay the bills, but I wish they'd cut down on SO MANY FLASH-BASED ADS. Flash leaks memory like a sieve, so having a flash game on top of a jillion ads (many on autoplay; thanks for that) made the game slow to a crawl.

My only complaint about SD's efforts recently is that the "trips" in these games (train, canoe, etc.) go on for far too long. Half the time I think the game has gotten stuck in a loop.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Managed to escape without opening the safe or doing anything with the clock pendulum. Didn't die though, well unless you count the flash crashing. Thanks SD. I like the morality/mortality thing!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Great game. Didn't die once. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  89. beginning to think I need to trade lives with someone - so far I've been stranded on a desert island, nearly flattened by a meteorite, attacked by zombies, abducted by aliens. I think it's only fair next time I get locked in a cake shop with no way out ; )

    love this game SD!

    ReplyDelete
  90. The item in the safe with colored numbers, was a burrito. I played it twice just to see, but I escaped whether I ate the burrito or not. I guess we didn't need to increase our health before escaping this time?

    Thanks SD! Loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Souless Minion - lol! Love the cake shop idea!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Hmm. I got killed in the first scene before even finding the key to the house. (Maybe backed into the moving train?). I decided the wrong choice was getting off the train in the middle of nowhere (not counting, jumping on a moving train when you're already in a town), but if you bypass jumping off at the house, you eventually go by it again.

    ReplyDelete
  93. @fed up -- you get to the door by clicking the bar at the top of the screen, not by clicking on the door.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I must agree with ps238principal -- the last several SD games have completely frozen up on me under windows 8.1, so I finally tried my old Windows XP drive. This game still froze on me for a few minutes. I usually play with the sound off and the window shaped to the game box to get rid of the noisy, blinking ads.

    ReplyDelete
  95. The clock face is backward. Can't seem to make the weights do anything.

    ReplyDelete
  96. so if I didn't get the axe before getting on the train, what do i do to get an axe?

    ReplyDelete
  97. found the shape clue for the cabinet upstairs and have the axe!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Best one of the Alaska lot. Better puzzles, lots to do and all logical! Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  99. really tough but good - only complaint is the wait for the train & the length of the ride - slows the flow of the game.

    but only died twice hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  100. where is clue for number safe, where is clue for clock weights, where is 3rd trophy? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  101. use wrench on cupboard under tv for 3rd tropyy.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I cannot find anything to light fire or candle.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Loved It SD
I wish however we had shared the burrito with Bill
    he shared with us

    ReplyDelete
  104. Serious bug: From start if you go out to lobby and quickly back again -> you are suddenly inside the locked house.
