  44. Can't see any connection between the cage code and the 4#

    ReplyDelete
  45. well, you hinted you couldn't find candle to light the dark room

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lighting a fire in the fire place was the important step I was missing. The shape code cannot be done until the power is back on.

    ReplyDelete
  47. For the piano clue, the letters on the left side are for the spaces, the right side for circle on the lines.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm just helping....you mean you have to repeat the game, alpha?

    ReplyDelete
  49. yeah I think I'm wrong.the robot's got nothing to do with those shapes

    ReplyDelete
  50. help! stuck with 4# in the room upstairs

    ReplyDelete
  51. 4 digit code is on the cage (upside down).

    ReplyDelete
  52. In fact, not upside down, but 180 degrees rotated.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Dazz, remember the mouse's name? Look at it upside-down.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh, thanks Lurker and small!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I thought every clue was find-able and had decent hotspots. There were two clues I wrote down that were never used, the 5 vials in the cabinet and the shapes the robot was holding. Just small red herrings to keep us on our toes.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I did waste some effort trying to water the flower with the sponge. And tried to use the shrinking potion on the evil plant and octopus. Come on, that's what we'd all do in real life.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The sheet music shouldn't have been hard to read, even if you don't know music, because it wasn't written properly. The only issue was if you DO read music and the F was in the wrong octave. Figured it out anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  58. where is the yellow gem?
Where do I use the 4# code?

    ReplyDelete
  59. oh, and where do I use "jerry"?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I see the clue above that says this from Alpha:
"power on use mirror hint on screen downstairs, then you have power upstairs to put cage code in"

What "screen" downstairs to I put the mirror hing on?? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  61. Jerry was the code from the mirror. Once you place all the gems, there's a password to turn on the power.

I think the yellow was from pouring the bucket of water on the octopus. You have to click around in the dark with the lighter to find the candle.

    ReplyDelete
  62. ok...found yellow gem after shrinking mouse....rest and out from there. Fun game! Thanks SD...nice and long!

  65. cool game! Thank you sd.

    ReplyDelete
  66. OK, I'm stuck, going round in circles. A little help?
I've got the red, orange and green gems. Power not on yet, need 2 more gems.
Solved slider, 6 hex shapes, 7 colors and piano puzzles.
Got the 49573 clue from fireplace.
    Got Jerry clue from mirror.
Have boots, lighter and shrink potion in inventory.
    Lit candle in dark room.
    Watered the octopus.
    Opened big brown cabinet.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Did you get the axe off the wall with the wrench? Use it to break open the boards.

    ReplyDelete
  68. And did you light the middle candle on the stairs?

    ReplyDelete
  69. I've got no wrench. The stairs? Where?
I think I have to something else but I'm not aware of it.

    ReplyDelete
  70. You get a black key from a wilted flower (give it to blue potion that you get from a book on the bookshelf). You also get a key from the skeleton, but I think you've already got that. Use the black key to open a door that takes you upstairs where you find the wrench on a small table to the right.

  71. clickity, clickity, clickity, look here, look there, bang head on wall, examine the same things I've checked before for the umpteenth time, question my vision and sanity, re-examine comments up and down the list for the gazillionth time, trying to figure out what is obvious to others here that is escaping my efforts, etc.
    Hmmm, what about this...nope!
Aha!!! That'll work. Well, apparently not.
    Oh well...

  72. Thanks Zoe !!!
Totally missed the book on book shelf. :-)
    Life can resume now.

  73. SUPERB GAME!
Though I'm really wondering why this wasn't worth 5 stars to some folks here...I do have a suspicion: the "candle pixel hunt" might be the culprit for the -1 ;)

P.S. The venus flytrap is a red herring...

    ReplyDelete
  74. SD: To avoid the pixel hunt, there would have been an easy way out: let the player find a slip of paper with the approx. location of the (mounted) candle sketched on it...

    ReplyDelete
  75. >robot has a clue for the shapes

NO! robot is a red herring. Actual shapes code will come from alien viewed by aid of the telescope upstairs, however not until you've made it through 80 % of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  76. That's what I thought about the robot , arby

  77. Even the monster plant is a decoy, but nice game, sd

    ReplyDelete
  78. I never had a lighter in my inventory, and I've searched the comments to see where it is located. All I've seen someone say is light the candle with the lighter from your inventory. No such thing in mine. I'm not going to go further with this game right now.

  79. @cyndee43
    - Move to scene with carnivore plant.
    - Inspect green box.
    - Find a way to open it.
    - Lighter will be INSIDE :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Could someone please share how to turn the power on? Very frustrated!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Finally figured out the gems go in the box above the body. Kept trying to click on them in some order.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Great game. I missed the book in the bookshelf so got stuck for ages. Thanks for hint Zoe.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I have 4 gems (orange, red, green, yellow). I can't find a hint for the green box or the 5 digit number. I have a 4 digit code that goes nowhere.

  90. heck knows what these objects are....(trophies ??)

I assume you have this 4-digit code from rat cage? If so, keep it for the final part of the game, as it won't have much importance until very late in the game...

    ReplyDelete
  91. @arby,

Thank you for your help, I have the llighter, now !

    ReplyDelete
  92. It was a very good game, except the random clicking for the candle. Thanks a lot to people who gave hints !

    ReplyDelete
  93. Even the wording about it was confusing! "Maybe there is a candle somewhere". Who would have been sure if the candle wasn't hidden away in a drawer or lying on the floor upstairs?? But the "somewhere" referred to current scene, which was hard to guess...

    ReplyDelete
  94. @arby - Actually, it was "somewhere _here_", that is in the room.

After a few clicks, I found the candle using the TAB key. :)

What to the buggy bucket and the "vText" message that appears when you point at the bucket in the inventory, you can go to the menu and click "play" (continue the same game). Might need to do it again (and again) if you're unlucky enough to point at the bucket again. %)

Otherwise, a nice game as usual. Thanks to the author and everyone for hints.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Thanks for the hints. :) I came back to the game today and realized I hadn't solved the slider puzzle! Duh, and now moved forward, but still haven't lit the fireplace. I have the lighter, but missing something essential?

    ReplyDelete
  96. Ok, no, you just have to click above the logs in the fireplace for it to light. :)

    ReplyDelete
  97. thanks to all hinting folks! OUT with a little help.
