ReplyDeleteChapter 15.
ReplyDeleteThe continuing saga about Jolly Boy and his friends James and Janice.
“Who’s that James?” Janice whispers.
“I don’t know, he looks like Jolly”. James and Janice are hiding behind a big tree.
It’s clear the boys’ toy is broken.
“What a strange place this is … where are we ..?”
“We'll find out later, let’s help the boy first!”
Janice always just wants to jump in. “A wheel is missing.”
She looks at the pattern on the tree.
“James, do you see where the starting point is?”
“What?” James was looking at the toy.
But, this might be a clue, so he follows the arrow backwards, and that works to find the start!
“let’s see … up left .. down left .. down right ..”
“Yes, going well, James, … up left .. up right, down right, down left ..”
“And up right! YEP. Done!”
They stare at a wheel with three colours.
“I’ll write the clues down.” James always has pen and paper ready.
“We need Jollys’ binoculars, there’s something on the tree in the distance.”
Bang! Janice all of a sudden has them in her hands. She’s not surprised, this is such a weird place. It feels like she's dreaming.
She uses them on the purple tree in the distance … “James, a number … nine … six .. two.. five.”
“Oh, and there is more! On the garage-doors … some arrows.”
James writes them down as well.
“Do you see a place where to use those arrows?” James looks around.
Janice still carefully searches this place with the binoculars.
“Yes! I see it! On the left of the house, below the pipes!”
A key drops in the inventory.
Then James and Janice collect all sorts of stuff: an envelope on the ground near the fence, a ball on the right.
They enter the house.
“Caref…!!” Too late, Janice stumbles over something that’s below the carpet.
“OUCH … another ball.”
James walks to the circles on the wall. He takes out his notes.
“Yes, the three colours! Blue on north-west, pink on north-east, orange on south.”
“Wow, a diamond … if this is a dream, it’s a nice one!” Janice puts the diamond in the inventory.
She walks to the picture with the chicken and sees the spots of the feathers.
“James, better write this down as well: up up down down …” Another clue.
They look up at the lamp, that’s a strong shining bulb.
In the kitchen, Janice looks below the cover on the table .. “of course, a ball”, nothing is a surprise in this place.
At the wall are two buttons. “The chicken-clue! Let’s try it … up up ..”
James takes a look at the paper they find.
He frowns his forehead … what’s this ??
Normally these clues are no problem for James, he played every small-tool riddle there is, but this one ..? “Janice, take a look ..” but Janice is just as puzzled as James is.
“We need help on this one, James, let’s call Mrtelcom! I bet he knows!”
And Mrtelcom has the answer : “2255, use 2nd letter of first word, etc.”
“Sigh, of course, we’ll use this solution later. I should have seen this myself, it feels like I’m dreaming!” James is frustrated with himself.
Love your walkthrough, arrie !
ReplyDeleteJanice opens the envelope and finds another clue.
ReplyDelete“On the wall, James, use it there!”
James clicks the dots as shown on the paper and tadaa .. “another diamond!” They cry out together.
Oh, this is so encouraging!
Janice climbs up the chair to use the number they found on the wall.
“Another ball!” “We need five of them Janice, they go on the wall here.”
James is in a better mood now. This is going well.
Only … where is Jolly?
They walk into the living room and sit down on the couch.
“OUCH !” This time it’s James who hurts himself! In the couch is the fifth ball.
“Lol, James, give them to me!” Janice runs back to the kitchen and puts the balls on the wall.
She finds a third diamond.
In the meantime James used the word they found on the wall.
Another riddle-paper. But this time James knows what to do.
He walks back to the reception room and holds the paper below the lamp.
“Where did we see triangles, Janice?”
“ We didn’t!”
Janice walks through the house, and ahaa, in the kitchen, on the left, she finds the place for the triangles. “Oh, James, another key!”
She uses the key in the kitchen cabinet. “Can we use a screwdriver somewhere?”
“Yep, at the fireplace, wait here”. Things are developing fast now.
In the chimney James finds a handle. He doesn’t hesitate, but pushes it down.
“Another clue Janice: up down up down down.”
Only one place left to use that clue, above the couch.
“A fourth diamond … one more is needed …”
The diamonds go on the small cupboard.
They walk around the room, not knowing what to do next.
James pushes the curtains at the left window aside to take a look at the boy.
“Janice, look! A colourclue! Where ….”
“Not inside the house, it must be used outside.”
Janice walks outside again and uses the binoculars to look at the rooftop.
“James!! The last diamond!”
She runs back inside to the living room.
When James and Janice place the diamonds in the cupboard a wheel falls down in the inventory.
Now it’s time to go to the boy that looks like Jolly.
It fits!
And off the boy goes!
ReplyDeleteSome things are familiar, like: James and Janice are very clever!
Some things are strange, like, where is Jolly ?? Perhaps it’s time for him to wake up ….
