Cute and easy. ^_^
ReplyDeleteHa! Getting no where fast! Typical for me! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat do you need?
ReplyDeletecat lion rabbit doesn't seem to be working for me?
ReplyDeletenever mind--c is center, r is right, l is left
ReplyDeleteVery nice game :) Thanks for CLR hint!
ReplyDeleteNice little game..
ReplyDeleteI can't get past the mean strawberry. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat's the green liquid in bottle?
ReplyDeleteHow do I clean my blue scroll?
ReplyDeleteOk, you don't need to clean it, just work out the symbols.
ReplyDeleteI fell down a pit with a bird with two sticks and a word puzzle, but I'm not sure what's supposed to be the hint for the puzzle?
ReplyDeleteThat was ADORABLE!
ReplyDeletePellia
ReplyDeleteAdd the position of the sticks held by the animal with the single lines and that gives you the letters needed. The second and fourth are the same letter, if that helps.
I seem to be stuck -- I bounced up into a castle (?) where there was the bird with sticks, went downstairs to the cat lion rabbit puzzle, now behind me is a pineapple and I cannot beat him, nor can I get out of the room where the bird/sticks was. Now what?
ReplyDeleteDunno if anyone's still here but I'm where Andrea is. I've tried everything to get the pineapple
ReplyDeleteNVM Done it.
ReplyDeleteDunno if you're still here Andrea but did you manage it?
ReplyDeleteIf I remember well (but bad memory) you have to combine sword with fire symbol to defeat pineapple.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm still stuck. Was the fire symbol the red thing on the right lion?
ReplyDeleteOoh, I got it now, the scroll. Thank you dutchie, onward!
ReplyDeleteIt was on a scroll i think
ReplyDeleteyw :)
ReplyDeleteYeah got that Dutchie thanks, just wanting to see if Andrea had managed. I need to make a roll cake now though. I got the bottle of green stuff that was added to the basket but I don't know what to do now. Any hints please?
ReplyDeleteHmm, don't remember that lol. Maybe Andrea can help you, sorry. Have to go now.
ReplyDeleteThanks anyway :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you just give the basket to the other penguin. Out with happy end lol.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the green stuff?
ReplyDeleteI'm missing the last 2 coins to get it from the 3rd chest, I think.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! Checking the grass now!!!
ReplyDeleteCloser! :D
Pen-Pen x 5 and FINALLY out! Sheesh! LOL
ReplyDeleteWonderful game - out (finally) with Happy End
ReplyDeletePrediction: I will be slightly disturbed after playing Detarame
ReplyDeletewhere do i place the green square? i got the blue squares on one and the yellow squares on another
ReplyDeletehaha...nvm i got it
ReplyDeleteIf I remember, you kind of add them together and blue + yellow = green. So on the left you put the yellow squares and the right the blue squares. But put a yellow square in the middle on the left and a blue square in the middle on the right to make the green square.
ReplyDeleteOoops as I was typing, you solved it!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is still here, I haven't gotten past the banana. Please help!
ReplyDeletewhat's the second ending? I got the first one where you collect all the ingrediants
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSecond ending - go back to the different characters and they will tell you what they want - for example frozen fish, tree branch
ReplyDeleteFor banana - click on red scroll and then click on banana - burns it up
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the scroll? I have the ice crystal, and I assume that will help me get into the chest where something keeps breathing fire at me, but I haven't worked out how to manage that. I am feeling really lost right now.
ReplyDeleteUse the ice crystal in the upper right scene where the two statues are. put the crystal in the left statue
ReplyDeleteThat gives you a blue scroll. use the blue scroll to figure out the clues on the rock behind the buddha with the hat - that will give you the red scroll
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get frozen fish? can't catch a fish in the lake!
ReplyDeleteThe animal in the house on lower left asks for a flowering tree branch. When you give it to him he gives you a fishing pole. And then remember where you put the ice crystal - that will freeze the fish you catch
ReplyDeleteCatch the fish in the indoor pond with the lily pads
ReplyDeleteoops - lower right house!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get frozen fish? can't catch a fish in the lake!
ReplyDeleteUpper left scene - the frog - go inside and to the pond (where you used the floating slippers to walk on the water). There are fish there
ReplyDeletewhere are the hints for three symbol on the rock?
ReplyDeleteBlue scroll - Use the ice crystal in the upper right scene where the two statues are. Put the crystal in the left statue and click on chest to get scroll. Use the scroll to get the clues for the rock
ReplyDeleteBest game in a while!
ReplyDeleteBut I do have to agree with Jinx: this weird stuff DOES leave you "disturbed" for awhile...
I think Taro's games ("Detarou" for you) are the climax. Hah, can't wait for a new one with flying bee-men and psychotics banging their heads against the wall...
I don't see any hints on how to pass the strawberry. :( All I have is 2 coins, some berries in a basket and a ice crystal. I've opened the door to the fish pond, but stuck on going any further.
ReplyDeleteFantastic game. Some really hard, but clever and logical puzzles.
ReplyDeleteThe roll cake ending got me stuck for a while, but got that one, too eventually.
cyndee,
ReplyDeleteyou will need aweapon (an item in the bottom 6 (blue) cells in your inventory) to beat the strawberry. I don't recall which one - maybe the "claws"?
Cyndee - think you might need 3 coins. Did you get the one behind the rock in the frog cave?
ReplyDeleteStrawberry creature? Oh, I think you needed the ninja shurikens for it.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the one behind the rock in the frog cave?
ReplyDeleteAnd what about another one deep inside the well, where you helped the bird that wants the frozen fish? There was one well-hidden coin between one of the two branches with withering leaves...
Yes I did get the coin in the frog cave, so that is all I have. 2 coins, crystal, scroll and berries. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to go further. Apparently it's ridiculously simple because no one has posted a clue about it yet.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a clue about how to do the puzzle on the rock (with the statue and the bird pecking) either. 3 squares where you can change the symbols and shapes...???
ReplyDeleteRe-started. To defeat the strawberry, you need the Claws. Get the claws from the chest in the Frog Cave Scene. Use hammer (from Buddha scene) to knock Totem pole segments to the right or left as per the vine clue outside the cave. After defeating the strawberry, you get the third coin.
ReplyDeleteI can't get to the well because the strawberry is guarding it. I can go to the mill house with the water wheel--can do nothing, the place where I found the berries and make a worm climb the tree one step and go back down, the frog cave and the statue where the equation is on the rock behind it, but I can't figure out what to do there. Call me clueless!
ReplyDeleteI need a hint for the buddha scene. I haven't seen a clue about how to solve the puzzle in order to get the hammer.
ReplyDeleteHammer is laying in the grass to the right of the statue
ReplyDeleteJust pick it up - you'll solve the rock puzzle much later in the game
ReplyDeleteOH! duh, I did have it. Thank you. :)
ReplyDeleteYep - hard to see it in Inventory
ReplyDeleteThe leaves seem to indicate LRLRR, which doesn't yield any results. I've tried doing it opposite, and also tried to do it according to the arrows on the leaves, but still nothing. This is simply not my day.
ReplyDeleteI did it from bottom to top
ReplyDeleteHit bottom two from Right side, next from L side, next from R side, Head from L side
ReplyDeleteThank you, Janet. That worked. :) Sorry to be such a nuisance today.
ReplyDeleteThis was a tricky game - laughed out loud when I saw the first comment that said it was "easy"
ReplyDeleteInfuriating lol. I've gotten to the pineapple and I have the red scroll and the sword, but highlighting either one doesn't do anything.
ReplyDeleteHere come a couple of clues for those who got stuck:
ReplyDeleteto defeat the strawberry you need the claw. In front of the frog cave, note the vine and the leaves on the left. This will give you the order to hit the statue bottom to top with the hammer. A chest will be revealed.
In the statue cave, go forward. Note the middle grid and reproduce the colours separatelyon the two grids above. Note that the middle is green (blue AND yellow). Then click the star on the door.
Whenever you have collected some coins, go to the bottom left scene. There will be boxes waiting for you against payment. Those will help you progress in the game.
Later in the game you will have a sword and a red scroll who will both go in the dark blue inventory (your weapons). You will also find them back in the regular inventory. Combining them will give you a more powerful weapon.
Hope this helps a little, this is really a great game. Good luck to everyone !
Alright I figured it out. I highlighted the scroll over and over and tried to add the sword, but it's the opposite. Highlight the sword and add the red scroll (fire).
ReplyDeleteUggghhh, I don't see any animal asking for a frozen fish or a tree branch, as indicated in the clues above. I gave a bar of soap(?) to the penguin to free itself in the well and now it is in a tub and is happy lol. No further requests. There's one more chest to open on the left, but I need another coin.
ReplyDeleteREally really need a W/T for this one. I don't know why I haven't just quit, but it's cute.
ReplyDeleteOk, I guess I will give up now, but it was cute. Thanks for the help.
ReplyDeleteFor Happy ending - see my comments starting at 6:47
ReplyDeleteLast chest on left requires a seashell not a coin
ReplyDeleteneed spoiler for bird with sticks!
ReplyDeleteI am replaying because my game froze. now I can't find the ice crystal! can anyone remember where it is?
ReplyDeleteNapali66 for bird with sticks. Look at the four positions that the bird with the sticks make. then add the symbols to each position and it makes 4 letters. can't remember what they are and I am stuck looking for the ice crystal or the crystal you use to make the ice crystal
ReplyDeletePop - the ball is behind the door in the opening screen. used to make ice crystal
ReplyDeleteNapali66 - Spoiler for sticks
ReplyDeleteSPOIHANHLER
to get the happy end you need to go first to see the bird with the sticks. then follow the steps to obtain the right things
ReplyDeleteWalkthrough:
ReplyDeleteStart scene (Lord Penguin):
get green scroll to the left; get darts from chest; click door on right to find another chest with a crystal ball. Lord Penguin tells you to collect all the things on the scroll, because Little Prince Penguin wants a roll cake. The green scroll will fill in as you go; also the basket of Collected Materials.
Back out; you can go anywhere on the 'up' side of the river. You need a better weapon to get across. First go to the woods, and defeat the blueberries with your darts. Get the blueberries and a coin.
Go to the buddha statue, pick up a hammer on the right.
Go to the frog cave; notice the L/R clue on the vine on the left before you enter. With hammer selected, whack the daruma doll from bottom to top as indicated. This makes the little pyramid disappear, and you can get an 'iron crow' from the chest. Click the little pyramid to find another coin.
Go to the bridge, maul that mean ol' strawberry, take the strawberry and a coin.
Go to reclining woman, take floating sandals from behind her.
To her left is the market. Pinky wants 3 coins for what's in the chest. Go ahead, it's a good deal. Now you have a hood, and can go to the well and defeat the kiwi. Pick up that kiwi and a sickle.
Return to frog cave, go through back door and work squares puzzle; just make a yellow cross on the eft and a blue X on the right, then the door will open. Go through, and use floating sandals to get to the lotus flower; collect golden ball.
Return to lady, place crystal ball on the stand in front of her and the goden ball in her forehead. Now you have an ice crystal.
With your sickle, cut wheat at the waterwheel house, and cut clumps of grass outside frog cave and next to buddha for 2 more coins. Go to market and buy soap.
Return to well and go down; free stuck penguin with soap. He will give you a key in gratitude. Also get a coin from behind the vine.
Use key on waterwheel house; go in, pick up net and shade. The letters above make a word so obvious it doesn't need a clue, so thank goodness this is a Japanese game and not an Indian one. Spell the word (sHpAoPiPlYer for non-English speakers) by clicking in the corners near the letters. The picture moves, pull the cord. Now the mill is running. Put in wheat, collect flour. The hen wants a worm and we know where one is. Use the net to collect the caterpillar in the woods, give it to her and exit the building; you'll hear a crow if your sound is on. Return to collect eggs.
Now go to the buddha and give him the shade to protect him from that peckerwood. Take his sword and remove it from the scabbard.
Now go to the temple and whack that peach. Collect peach, go forward to lion statues, give ice crystal to the one on the left to counteract the fire on the right, then you can pass. Get blue scroll and open it for clue to the puzzle behind the buddha.
Walkthrough cont.:
ReplyDeleteWhere there are blotches on the scroll, you have to deduce what would be there. The color swatches under the buddha are coordinates; green column plus yellow roll will be a # in a triangle. Set symbol with upper buttons, shape with lower. get a red scroll; select your sword again and use red scroll on it.
Before going to the pagoda, look at the symbols at the temple (upper right), in frog cave (upper left), and down in the well. Go to the pagoda and burn the banana (yum, fried plantain!), then enter those symbols in the circles below; click the center and the ground will open; click and you fall in. Go forward, click the green banner, and watch the shapes the penguin makes with his sticks. Then look at the puzzle on the floor, and imagine those shapes combined with what you see there. It makes a word I think, but not an English one. Go downstairs, see Cat Lion Rabbit sequence; think initials; no it's not Calcium & Lime Remover, it's Center Right Left. Enter this code, colect sugar. Try to leave; there's a pineapple in the way, don't you hate that? Well, just do him in with your fire sword, and collect the fruit.
Go to the market and buy the cream with your coins. Now you have all the materials and can finish, but for best end, don't return to the castle yet.
Looking around, you find that the orange penguin wants a flowering branch, the soapy penguin wants a frozen fish, and Pinky wants a shell for whats in the last chest.
1st use your sickle to get the branch from the woods. Get a fishing rod. Go to the pond in rear of frog cave, catch a fish, take it to the ice lion to freeze it. Trade with Soapy for the shell, get matcha (that's green tea powder). Take it all to the castle and click on Lord Penguin for Happy End.
Errata:
ReplyDeleteeft = left
goden = golden
roll = row
Great walkthrough Just1
ReplyDeleteUsed to be a saying here EGDAW (Every Game Deserves A Walkthrough) - many nowadays don't but this is one game that did!
ReplyDeleteThanks just1, that was a fun read.
ReplyDeleteBTW the "waterwheel house" would simply be called a mill by people who still know what a mill is. Back in the 19th century, this was true craftsmanship, and the bread and the buns didn't taste like nutrasweet-flavored cardboard as they do nowadays...
Presumably one does need to be European to know that though. Because the current generation of the rest of the world thinks that flour has always come from big factories ;-)
