  1. This is beautiful - but I'm too tired to work on it much
We've got 4 days to solve it anyway
Maybe a kanji translator will come along?
I see Sakura in the domain name - is that the same Sakura of old? If so, joy!

  4. Used needle (i think it was highlighted) on the side of the upper left drawer, got matches, made a fire in the middle of the room, there is a fireplace and heated water in teapot.

  7. In the red box is the flower in the lid. Now looking for sth blue for door outside.

  8. Not sure what happened. At one point I went outside again and was able to give a lady a bowl of whipped green solution - tea I suppose. Then could look on the back of the rabbit coin for a hint. Examine anything left in the inventory very carefully.

  9. Now the paper in inventory changed and i got a key from the wall outside

  10. Could not end the game because my 3 buttons vanished!

  11. I had put them in the door outside like the fan showed.

  12. The papers on the wall above the trashcan show Japanese numbers from 1 to 12 - cardinal #s on the left, ordinals on the right. So in the note under the pillow, the 1st word in the 1st row is 4, the 1st in the last row (apparently for the code) is 1. So far that's all I understand.

  13. I see the game was OK - but now it won't load. Tried in Chrome and Firexof, adblock and flashblock off - and it still won't load.

  14. (And also add IE - won't load in IE either.)

  15. LOL, what an interesting game after all...cutting the bamboo sounded like Bruce Lee fighting an opponent...

  16. What brush is this? And for tea? I'd normally use these when shaving...

  17. Wonderful game.

Thanks Roberto for the number hack and Zazie for the all-Japanese code...second character looks like a pi in math...(could be the kanji of 'power', but there are a couple pretty similar to each other, so I always tend to mix them up)

p.s. Avoid the bug at the end by placing the moon FIRST in center, then add the two others.
AFAICS bug will occur if the 'ice' symbol is put at a wrong place first.

p.p.s. If you're patient with the looooong outro, you may enjoy the very beautiful final screen...

  18. arby, the tea whisk is part of the Japanese method of preparing tea.

  19. Thanks for the tip about the bug with the ice symbol, unfortunately I saw it too late (I came here to see if someone else had run into it.)

  20. I am not sure why only copyright and examine are in English.

  21. If anyone was wondering about the explanation for the codes:

The paper hint under the cushion by the fire pit is for the drawer with the kanji code. The hint tells you it's a four word phrase, gives you a sort of description of the phrase and the first word. It's 一刀両断.

The clue for the number drawer comes from the fan, when closed it shows another phrase. You're meant to match the three kanji in that phrase to the 12 months in the calendar thing. The first kanji matches with the 7th month, then the 11th month then the 2nd month.

The other two papers are not really needed, the one on the left instructs you on how to prepare the tea (place hot water and tea powder into the cup and then whisk) and the other paper is from "mom" and tells you to cool your head by making some tea. The lady shown drinking the tea is the player.

  22. Also for medal at door.....

The words in the fan 雪月花 refers to snow, moon, flower

    ReplyDelete
  23. The kanji hint is バッサリ which means haircut.
The phrase 一刀両断 means cutting in two with a single stroke

  24. great explanations, thank U (pun intended :P)
They're just a little bit late...

BTW I guess she'll have some more years to grow a "lady" ;-)

  25. Sakura is a domain name. The original game maker we called "sakura" actually had another name and once complained about being called after his domain.
