ReplyDeleteWhat is a "Martian planet"? "Martian" means "of or relating to the planet Mars". This doesn't look like Mars. And even if it's supposed to be, why not just call it "Escape Mars"?

ReplyDeleteBeavinator, my English is poor, but I know that "Martian" also means an inhabitant of planet Mars. Mars is just a planet, but Martian planet refers to an inhabited planet. And it's more poetical. We can also call our planet a Human planet, not just Earth.
ReplyDeletepunnivinn, well calling Earth "a human planet" would be kind of silly, especially since it's currently the only one. But you're right, if there were Martians and they colonized other planets, those could be referred to as "Martian planets". Your English is spot on, and I stand corrected. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, beavinator, of course "human planet" is silly in that sense, but it's still more poetical and has the nuance of the meaning: not just a planet, but the planet in relationship with the humankind. Likewise I think Mars can be called a Martian planet as well, if the game creator wants to emphasize that there is life on Mars. But yes, the planet in the game doesn't look like Mars, so the colony theory seems to be more correct.
