  2. I went through the game without mistakes. The game is long and interesting)

  3. Game is amazing. Kind of a throwback to Neutral's Element.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I played through this twice already. I was literally about to email A about this before i see this listed.

    Some tips:

This is a long game, not unlike Neutral's offerings.

    Search carefully.

The ad server for tips is a bit bugged.

Remember 3 ship = 1 face. This would be important for more than 1 section of the game.

The star charts is a key component of the game.

I can write a walkthrough, but it would take me a day or two.

  5. Finished this the other day, not without a few hints though. Read below for some tips

Levers can be used to open and close doors and it's a good idea to check for any changes when you do so.

Easter Island head statue is used 3 times.

Anchor is used like a pick axe.

If you used a tool but it's still in your inventory, that means there's still a use for it somewhere.

Even if you used an item, trying taking it back. That means you still need it later.

  6. This is Kotorinosu's best game yet!
    Thank you Mani!!!
Room Gamma was my third-favorite Escape Game of all time, behind Neutral's Elements and Vision.
As Nini xD noted, The Treasure seems heavily influenced by Neutral's Elements, and why not? Maya's (Neutral) Elements is the best Escape Game ever made.
Mani's (Kotorinosu) The Treasure is now my second favorite Escape Game ever. This moves Vision to number three on my list.

So my top five Escapes ever are now:

    1: Neutral - Elements
    2: Kotorinosu - The Treasure
    3. Neutral - Vision
    4: Kotorinosu - Room Gamma
    5: TIE
    Gatamari - Gate Escape 7
    Loom - Dawn

  7. ok this was a good game but i needed the video walkthough for some things. like the coins and the leviathin map..... i understood how 3 ship coins = 1 silver coin..... so how does 11 work out to 3 ship and 2 silver? and on...? hope some one comes back on and explains it to me..... this kind of stuff just goes over my head and would love it to be explained

    ReplyDelete
  8. @brin3m Maybe you misread :) (because your sum is off).

The leviathan map shows how much you need to have (sum of the coins) by each "check point".

After 5 coins, you need to have 11, after 8 you need to sum up to 16 and after all 12, you need a total of 24.

Knowing that 1 silver coin is worth 3 and 1 bronze coin is worth 1, we get:

    Five coins: 3 silver + 2 bronze (3*3+2*1 = 11)
    8 coins: (11) + 1 silver + 2 bronze (11+1*3+2*1 = 16)
    12 coins: (16) + 2 silver + 2 bronze (16+2*3+2*1 = 24)

  11. not sure how to vote any more but this is a fantastic game! I have to go back to cooking darn it or my family will have sandwiches tomorrow night! I must be nearing the end. I've been outside in 2 places and down in the basement. Trying to figure out how to get back inside and up the ladder to the roof maybe? Have the anchor and a strange key and I'll be back later. What a merry christmas eve, eve. Super 5 star game.

  16. Incredible game. Was a marathon, so fun, wow! Funny thing ... I never found the little bullet black light, so when it came time to put 12 coins in the basement, my order was not the same as here. I never had the 11/16/24 numbers, but I used the size of the stars in the Leviathan constellation, starting from the right, big=silver, small = bronze. So my order was 2S, 2B, 2S, 4B, 2S. And it worked! I wonder if there were other differences based on clues you found? Thank you so much for publishing this game, would give it more stars if I could :)

  17. (S=silver, B=bronze) just realized S and B could stand for Big/Small as well..ha

  18. Epic.
This is by far the best game since at least Neutral's Elements from a good 2 years ago. What I said about that game is just as valid here: I would have gladly paid for such a huge game experience - the fact that you can get a game of this magnitude, qualityand fun FOR FREE, is just... Christmas come just in time :) The number of hours put in creating this game must have been immense.
Kotorinosu have always been one of my favourite game developers, this game just put them one shelf higher - right next to Neutral. For the first time since Elements, I feel 5 stars is way too few to make a just assesment of this game. Fantastic job.

  19. hartzb65,
that is interesting (about the 12-coin puzzle). I had the 11/16/24 hint, but could make no sense of it. In fact, this was the only puzzle I solved more or less by trial and error, after all he myriad of possible interpretations of the clues failed. But, interestingly, the solution that worked for me was putting in the coins in an alternating sequence: one silver, one bronze, one silver, one bronze etc... (I'm not sure the first coin was silver though) - and this seems to be a different solution than yours. And it defo worked.

  20. This game had me thinking," what in the name of MYST is going on here....I don't care because I love it!!!" Yeah it took me hours to get through but was so proud to get through without looking for hints, etc....Thank you Kotorinosu for an awesome game!!!

  21. I wrote a walkthrough. I never posted one here before so I’m probably not getting the etiquette right.
    Part 1
This is a very long game with multiple rooms and a lot that doesn’t become clear until much later, so to save time and reduce spoilers I will point out what’s relevant as we go. The game has built in hints that are varying degrees of helpful. Your inventory slides sideways as you get new items, if they are done they will disappear but it’s a good idea to try to pick things up again after you use them. If there’s more than one way in to a room there’s always a reason. I relied on both in-game hints and video walkthroughs, there wasn’t much in the way of text hints so I thought I’d put one together. It’s helpful to have the sound on as you usually get only audio feedback if you have done something correctly. There are several points in the game where you have to see the clue first before you can take action.

The Main Room has 4 views: sofa, short cabinet, table, and tall cabinet
Sofa: coin in plant pot, note the need for a hex wrench under the globe
Short cabinet: need keys for birdcage, short cabinet door, and back of clock, need code for corners of the painting of the bust and the bottom drawer.
Table: get coin from under the flower vase mat and note compass. Chairs have numbers on them, one chair has a box you can pick up. Two boxes stacked in the corner, get handle from bottom box.
Cabinet: Use chair clue to open painting (WSNWE). Grab magnifier and note the need for wire cutters on the back of the painting. Examine magnifier close and reveal the key. Look at the books in the tall cabinet. For now you can only open the club book and learn that three ship coins = one head coin. This will be relevant throughout the game. You need a key for the middle section and there’s a small plinth with some kind of mechanism. The bottom doesn’t do much yet.

Your key unlocks the birdcage and you get an Easter Island statue. Note another hex nut. Look closely at the statue and note the shape in the side. You will use the statue three times. For now, set it on the plinth in the cabinet and turn. Voila! Coin #3. Take the statue again.

Now go back to the short cabinet. Put your 3 coins in the pirate barrel and push down on the pirate. He will give you a silver coin. Look at the coin for the number clue for the head painting on the wall. It is reversed.
    63
    92
Get the wrench and the grid on the back of the painting.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Walkthrough part 2
Undo the hex nut in the birdcage. When if flies up, pick up the button and put it in the box you got from the chair. Now go look at the plants. The empty one came down! It’s locked but look closely at the chain. The little key fits in your Easter Island statue. Hooray! An (admittedly atypical) screwdriver! In Neutral’s Elements we had to nearly finish before we got a screwdriver! Attach yours to the handle.
Now go back to the tall cabinet. Look at the bottom left and use the grid. Click the little brass handle on the grid side so it slides over to the right, then click the other bras handle so the slide door slides to the left. Zoom in on the grid now that it’s on the right and note the spade shape. Also not the little + on the bottom right of the grid.
Go back to the books on the top shelf and look at the spade cover with the magnifier. Remember you can slide your inventory. This gives you the drawer shape clue (hourglass-triangle-plus). Go open the bottom drawer in the short cabinet. You get a notebook! Learn to love it, you will use it a LOT.

Now undo the hex nuts under the globe. Press the button under the globe to turn off the light.
Time for your first complex code. Use the combination of the globe and notebook to enter the code into the box. The notebook tells you the order to press the buttons and the globe tells you which constellations are up and which are down. Don’t forget the last notebook page! It tells you to press the center one last time.
Code: (up middle up middle middle down middle). Get a key!
It unlocks the middle section of the tall cabinet. Grab the dagger on the left and lift up the two small panels to reveal screws. Ignore the round device for now. Unscrew them and you can pull off the cabinet doors and pull out the trunk. Ignore the trunk for now, you can’t get into it for a long time. Note the double slot in the bottom.
Go back to the pirate barrel and turn your silver coin back into 3 ship coins. Then put the dagger in and get the pirate head out. It goes flying and lands on the floor. Look, a key! You have to take the key out to use it. Put the pirate head back. You can’t grab the dagger right now but it will stay put until you need it.
The key opens the right door in the short cabinet which gives you a double lever. Go use it! A door opens and we walk into the light....
Not game over, but a new space!!!

    Porch
On the right (facing the water) find a coin behind the flower box, next to the locked cabinet. On the right side of the cabinet, click on the ivy to reveal a package.
On the left find a code by the other flower box. (3098).
Turn towards the wall with the door. The code unlocks the wall door and reveals a handle (it won’t stay pulled) and a key. At the bottom of the wall behind the flower boxes is a cat door. Click on it a few times and it will open, and get you back to the main room. Wait, why would we need a cat door with the other door right there...
Use the lever to move the cabinet back and go back through the cat door. Look where the door was and get the second notebook. Open the notebook and get coin #5. Go back inside.

    Main Room Again
Use the key on the back of the clock, then the screwdriver. (Click near the bottom of the clock to get it to flip over. Rotate the clock until the opening shows another diamond. This shows you where to put the five coins in the round device in the tall cabinet. Get another key. Remember to take the coins back. The key unlocks the flower pot and you get a weight. Once you take the weight the birdcage comes back down. Look closely and use the screwdriver to detach it. The pot falls down again and you can pick up the whole chain. Using the clue from the second notebook, put the statue back on the plinth and use the chain on it. Chomp the statue to get yet another key. Now back outside.

    Porch again
Use your key on the cabinet to get the wire cutters. Use the weight on the handle to keep it pulled down. Go back in.

  23. Walkthrough Part 3
    Main Room
The compass picture has moved! Use the wire cutters on the back of the picture to get the compass map. Examine the map to get a silver coin. Also open the package to get the handle (it’s a light switch) and a ship coin. The handle is used in the small slot that was revealed behind the tall cabinet. It turns off the lights. Look around in the dark and notice the blue line on the wall with interruptions and an arrow. This is a clue for the coins. Turn the lights back on and work out the clue (ship, head, ship, ship, head). Go back to the pirate barrel and turn 3 ship coins into one more silver coin. Now go to the machine that was behind the compass picture. Insert the coins following the clue you just worked out. Use your screwdriver as the handle pull down. There is a big clunk! Look under the boxes where you got the screwdriver handle. A ladder!

    Basement
Look around and find a handle. Pull the handle, then look around again for a light switch. Oops, your exit ladder has vanished.
There are lots of buttons to push but we don’t know the right order.
Look at the cabinet in the corner. One of the wine glasses is really a bulb and you can take it. Open the cabinet door and get the lantern. The top drawer has a hex nut, unfasten it and the drawer front comes off. Slide up the bottom drawer and get a scrap of paper .
Behind the rock under the giant foot is an arrow. On the deck is a bulb like you have. They hook together and make an hourglass and then you can take the other one, which is a lightbulb and goes in your lantern.
Open the fuse box and peer in with the lantern. Use the arrow to retrieve a second piece of paper. Put the two together; it says “Push the rock 12 times.” If you do that the balloon painting falls down and you get a diary. Open the diary and get a piece of paper. On the right are a series of holes; turn to the next page (it’s a little annoying and pixel-hunt-y) and see that that is where your scraps were torn out. Put them back and flip the page back to get a clue (PTCTLT). Unfold the piece of paper and see that it is another constellation, this time a Titan.
Now it’s time for the second complicated code. Look through the original constellation notebook and notice that the constellations are Phoenix, Chimera, and Leviathan. Phoenix = feathers, Chimera = horns, Leviathan = wing, Titan = giant footprint. Use the letter order to tell you which button to push (feather, foot, horns, foot, wing, foot). The foot frame moves and there is a switch. Pull the switch and a ladder appears. Head outside.

  24. Walkthrough Part 4
Outside (with a brief return to the basement)
Look behind the palm trees and get a piece of stone. Mess around with the boat until you get the anchor (pull the chain out of the water, then detach the anchor. Think of it more as a pickaxe. Close the hatch that you came through to get the second piece of stone. There is a statue with a gem that we can’t get yet.
Take a minute tonite the position of the cross, barrel-with-sword, and direction of the ship.
Go back to the basement for a minute - use the anchor to break the rock and get a key. Go back outside.
Use the key to open the door. Pick up the lighter. Look through the peephole (Ah, THAT’S what the hole in the painting is) and note that the ladder is pushed up and there’s a hole in the ceiling.
Use the lighter on the map (blank paper with compass) to reveal a picture of the island and an X. Dig where the X is ( in the grass left of the pier) using the anchor, and get a large gear. Back to the basement again.

    Basement
Put the gear into the gear machine and press the button. The ladder is back! Go back up to the main room.

    Main Room
Use the anchor on the green trunk to get the third piece of stone. Now go back through the basement to the outside.

    Outside
Put all the pieces of stone in the plinth and put the arrow in the middle. Rotating the plinth will also rotate the statue. Turn the plinth so the sun is opposite the shadow of the arrow, the go get the gem from the statue.

    Basement
Put the gem in the frame above the wing. Follow the blue light and break the wall there with the anchor. You found the treasure! Now we need to escape with it. Inside the treasure box is a cross and a lot of coins that you can’t grab yet. Go back upstairs.

    Main room
Short cabinet: Make the things on the top match the out. Put the dagger back in the barrel, put the cross in the crown, and flip the ship in a bottle so the neck of the bottle is towards the crown. The cabinet will slide away by itself when you get it right. On the floor is a wheel. Turn it and a door is revealed. Now we have a quick way to outside without going through the basement. But why do we need 2 ways? Remember the view through the peep hole? Let’s put the ladder back.

    Basement
Go pull the lever next to the gear machine, then get back to the main room via outside.

    Main Room
A new place to go! Navigation is a bit tricky, you have to click near the top of the ladder. Go up to the attic.

    Attic
Right now you can’t do much. On the left there is a photo tucked behind machinery, and on top of the big lump in the middle there is a rope. Look at the picture- there is another space under the porch! Conveniently we have a rope. Go out to the porch.

    Porch
Look down over the edge towards the water, then click the rope on the railing. Climb down into the room and pick up the little pellet - it’s a purple light. On the right is a machine with a lever and 12 stars. Now open your treasure chest and get out some coins.
    Time for complex code #3.

Look at the Leviathan page of the notebook with the purple light. There is a clue there that tells you how much the coins need total as you reach each star. Remember way back when we learned that 3 ships= 1 head coin? Use that to work out a coin order that adds up.
    (HHHSS=11; HSS=16; HHSS=24)
Step back and pull the lever. The machine turns on and the roof opens. Back to the attic!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Walkthrough Part 5 (final section)
    Attic
The lump was a balloon! Now we just need to unchain it.
For the moment you can’t solve the puzzle of the enticing machine in the middle of the floor as you need some clues. Although it looks like you just need to move the constellations to the marked spots it doesn’t work so easily. Instead head up to the deck of the balloon. Pick up the binoculars, then go back to outside.

    Outside
Look around for 4 clues, using binoculars.
    Windmill: P = 5-6-5
    Balloon: T = 4-4-2
    Cross: L = 4-5-9
    Flag: C = 5-5-7

    Back to the attic.

Final section: Attic (and a brief trip outside)
Input the numbers into the machine. Use your notebook to figure out which constellation is which. Input the numbers and notice it makes a star, just like on the hatch above. I promise this is the last time you have to use the dang notebook.

    (Top =565, left = 442, right = 459, bottom = 557)

Now use you map again and see where the star falls (basically opposite the X). Go back outside for a minute. Dig in the recommended spot (just click around til you see a view of the ground) with your anchor. Get the last key! Go back to the attic and use the key on the hatch in the balloon. Turn the knob inside.

That’s it! You fly off into the sky with your box of treasure!
