    For the rat code, it helps to think of a 3 digit number as 100A+10B+C.

    Then we get:
    100R+10A+R
    +100R+10A+T
    +100R+10T+T
    =1416
    or 301R+20A+12T=1416

    Once you're to that point, just try some numbers...

    Hint, R = 4.
