The planets anagram puzzle is ridiculous. I see the walkthrough skirts around it after pointing to the solutions for the first few letters (which I'd worked out for myself) because, as far as I can see, it fails on the last few to provide the correct solution.
ReplyDeleteI had no problems whatsoever with the planet anagrams, I liked that puzzle very much, thank you! Of course, you have to know or google the order of the planets (with the Sun on the left side). The solution was a little bit strange, the name of a company that makes guitar bridges, don't know how it was connected with the outer space theme.
ReplyDeleteActually I don't understand Indigo's problem, because my English isn't good enough. E.g., what are the "walkthrough skirts"?
Hi punnivin - no problem with the planet names (and I know the solar system order!), but the puzzle that is triggered by solving it (1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, etc.) was wrongly formulated I think - it did not produce the intended 8-letter word solution - and even if it had, it was a word I've never heard of and which bears no relation to the planets. (To skirt around something means 'to avoid' - in this case the walkthrough hovered over the correct letters for the first four clues and then just went to the puzzle location and solved it without further explanation!) Hope this makes sense ;)
DeleteOoops! Yes it does come out correct - I messed up. But it's a crazy word - I play flute, not guitar!
DeleteAh, thanks, Indigo, for your answer! Maybe it was a little bit confusing that you had to take the 1st etc. letters from the actual planet names, not the anagrams, but I understood it right, and the strange word I got opened the locker, so no problem. I think it was a very good puzzle.
DeleteAnd I am a guitar player, but I had never heard of that company and brand name, googled it. It is too specific. "EverTune is a patented bridge system that keeps your guitar in tune under any conditions."
Deletewtf is evertune?
ReplyDeleteCopy-paste from my comment: it's the name of a company that makes guitar bridges, don't know how it was connected with the outer space theme.
